Last night in Switzerland.

We fly back to California tomorrow.

Be back home soon! :thumbsup2

I posted this on FB, but I'll post it here anyways. I just got a call from my doctor with my liver test results, and it looks like my liver hasn't been damaged :woohoo:. I thought I was going to have to wait until my appointment tomorrow for the results, but good news is always welcome early!!!

Now for the bad news, I can't consume any alcohol for a few months :scared1:. What is a girl to do .

Awesome news Katie!:thumbsup2
I'll just have to have an extra drink for you. No problem, that's what friends are for, right?

Monica, I remember when my baby girl went off to college. Life is never the same afterwards. But it's all good. Hang in there.

Monday is almost over. Another hot and humid day. Glad I'm not at DL. Like you said Beth, it would be reminiscent of WDW!

Katie, yay for good news from the doctor!!!

Linda, I am sooo ready for summer to be over. It's not raining today, but we are still much more humid than I am used to.

Jen, safe journey back to the US!! Wow, what an adventure you've had. :)

Angie, I love road trips. Have fun on yours! :thumbsup2

Ugh. So I found out today I amde a big boo-boo when registering for the 5K and now they think I'm 14 years old. Guh-reat. I managed to fix it in one area but it's listed on my waiver that I'm supposed to be 14 the day of the race which is kind of a problem. I'm frustrated and of course by the time I realized it today I couldn't call because the people I need to talk to closed up for the day. I don't usually have much luck when emailing about problems like that. So hopefully I get a response back by Wednesday because that's the earliest I can call.

My mom and sister are flying out for Vegas in the wee hours of the morning. Time has flown by, I can't believe it's really August.

Hi everyone! Monday is almost done :cheer2:. Hard to believe it is August already. School in Chico starts back on the 10th - right around the corner. I hope everyone is doing well.

Kelly - sorry to here you and your mom won't be making it on the trip. You'll be missed.

Katie - Great news!!! It's great to hear things are heading in the right direction.

Carol - Plane tickets already....for February? Now I'm a planner but I'm not at that point yet. Maybe I better get checking it out. By the way, yes you are definately still welcome to visit? There are a couple days this month that might not work out so PM the dates. It would be fun!!

Steph - How exciting to be on the down hill side of retirement! Thanks for all you do in the military!

Beth - Heck yes to Ryan Gosling! That's all I can say.

Jess - I hope that you get 5k issues worked out. I always notice things at 5:05 pm when the shops/businesses are closed. It drives me nuts all night.

Well I'm off to walk on the treadmill. It's too darn hot outside and I really, really need some exercise. Have a great night everyone!!

It's lookin good for February! Looks like there may be one more Diva to add to the list. :cool1:

I think I'm all caught up..... Wedding at Winchester House was gorgeous. The reception was in the greenhouse. I will be at DL in TWENTY TWO DAYS. Yay me! LOL

From Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge! Looking out the window toward where the mountain is hiding behind clouds - hoping it will peek out tomorrow. Having the most amazing time!

I'll never get caught up here but will call Stacielee when I get home for the cliff note version.

You have to let me know how your trip goes. My husband and I are looking at going in Sept for my birthday and staying a couple nights there. Did you take the train? I think it is so funny that the "once a lifetime" trip for most people is going to be our weekend excusion. Yeah for living in Alaska. However, I am still bummed that I won't get to see the Northern Lights were I live.

Heres hoping the week goes well for the rest of you. Mine started out kindof bummer - our POS car won't change gears. Stuck in neutral. No telling how much that is going to cost to fix in the middle of nowhere, Alaska. :scared1: But we have to bite that bullet because getting a taxi cab is not the way to go here. $10 per person to go from my subdivison to the hospital - 4 miles away. :confused3 That really adds up, fast. We bought the car for $850.00 when we got here thinking we would just drive it til it dies. We didn't expect it so soon. So now the question is: Should we pay to fix it, or just get a new used car that may or may not work better?

Good morning, ladies!! :)

This is great news, Janelle!! I really hope you can make it. I'd love to hang out with you.

I think the same thing about living in Las Vegas. People come from literally all over the world to see the two mile stretch known as "The Strip", to gamble, shop in designer stores, stay in five star hotels, and enjoy fine dining. For us, it's like "eh" we'd rather not go down there and deal with the chaos. :rotfl:

Good luck with the car issues. I hate dealing with things like that. We have an older-than-dirt '96 minivan with over 250,000 miles on it!! :scared1: Soon we'll be asking ourselves the same question.

Question for all you savvy Diva shoppers... Are you finding any good school supply deals yet? I can't seem to find any around here. :confused3 I'm looking for the 20 cent paper and pencils, and 10 cent pocket folders, stuff like that.

I haven't been paying much attention since I don't need anything like that but I've heard Walgreens has some good deals on school supplies...

School supplies--- Yes been getting deals for last 3 weeks--

1. Crayons 24 ct -25 cents limit8
2. small sissors- with and without points 25-50 cents
3. Notebooks-- the ones with paper --10 cents limit 10
4 Sharpies 1 dollar each
5. Pencils the #2's 25-50 cents per box
6. Pens- blue , black ----50 cent per pack
7. Note book paper wide and college rule 20 cents per pack
8 Glue sticks 50 cents for a 4 pack-- limit of 4 4 packs
9. Pee-Chees 10cents each limit of 5 or 10 ?
10 Pencil boxes 99 cents each.

That is about all I have bought so far. I have no kids in grade school but I make a box of supplies for grandson to give to his teacher for kids that may not have supplies asked for. Not all families can get to stores when the sales are on or even have the extra money to buy all the items the teachers ask for. I get great pleasure in knowing all the kids will start with a level playing field first day. Anyone can help supply -- supplies for area schools. Buy when they are on sale then just take to the main office with a note to use for kids needing :). Very small gesture but greatly appreciated when you are 5, 6 ,7 , or 8 years old. It will make your heart feel so good :).

I spent yesterday afternoon holding the hand of my friend. I talked about old times, sharing MY memories with her and her family. I know Mary could hear us as a couple of times her eyes fluttered but her lids did not open. When I left the room I let her know I would be along sometime but not to wait for me. I reminded her we still had lots of garage sales to go to :).

Rest in Peace Mary 1953-2011
