Also, a few weeks ago we were adopted by a stray cat and she's turning out to be such a great pet. We love her! She has the fluffiest tail.

Our appraisal corporation (ERC Appraisals, Inc.) has become swamped with FHA work through a new partnership we have with an appraising company in Seattle, and from the looks of it, we're going to get even busier and continue like that for several years. So on Monday, I start my paid training as a real estate appraiser apprentice! Very excited to get started and to be earning a paycheck. YAY! :cool1:

I've seen the kitty pics on Facebook. She's darling!

Congrats on the job! Woo hoo!

I did a little shopping yesterday. Kohls and Target. I was at Kohl's at around noon and Target around 2:30. Didn't wait more than 15-20 minutes in line at either place. Went into Best Buy, but they didn't have what I was looking for, so I left. They DID have a Garmin for $85 with lifetime maps. We had $35 in Best Buy Rewards coupons that I've been sitting on for a while, so we ordered the unit online for in store pickup and got it today. $53 including tax. Yay!

Today I did our turkey dinner. Russ didn't like the stuffing, so next year, it's back to Stove Top. The turkey came out perfect - very moist and flavorful and the juices made an excellent gravy. The mashed potatoes were delish as was the pumpkin pie. Now I'm in serious food coma. LOL

Second day of leftovers. Is it just me or does the food taste better a day or 2 later? All that's left now is corn and a little stuffing and some bones that my DH swears still has lots of meat on them. I sure don't see any.

What's going on Beth? Not coming? This is not good, not good at all.:sad1:

Oooohhh--do tell! I've been looking at tablets---does this one run Word?

I hope the real estate job gives you the resources to come on the trip!

and pooh on Grandma!

it is great and runs on my blackberry phones data plan or wifi either one. Love that, and it bridges to my blackberry so i can access my notes, calendar, tasks email and messagss etc, without syncing. it is with the blue tooth somehow.

There is a word to go program, but i havent uses it yet. i have downloaded a piano and a drum however:cool1:

The size is also great.

Hey, I've been there! I found it hot and boring. :rotfl2: But I was around 19 when I went so that's probably why. lol Glad you enjoyed it.

Still hot but I find it fascinating how the Mayans knew so much about building, time and things in general. They were so in tune with the planet.

:cool1: You guys are going to have so much fun!!!! :cool1:

I guess I missed when you announced you weren't going on the Girls Trip again.......what happened?? :confused3

Beth - Hmmmmmm, this whole not coming thing. I think not.
taptaptap_sml.gif

What, what, WHAT?! You're not coming?????!!!! Nooooooooo!!!!!!

What's going on Beth? Not coming? This is not good, not good at all.:sad1:

Adding my voice to the above - are you really not coming Beth??? Please say it ain't so???:eek:

Looking for flights and no luck so far. The great price out of bellingham on allegiant wouldn't get me in until after the meet and greet and it doesn't fly home when I want it to. But the other flights out of bellingham are around $350 with taxes and everything and out of Seattle I would pay around $200 but would have to pay for parking and gas.

Ideas?

Good morning, ladies!! Last day of the long weekend. It went by too quickly, as usual.

Now that we are past one major holiday, it's time.

Time for what?

For meal sign-ups!!! :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo:

I need everyone who is signed up for the trip to do the following things:

1. Take a peek at the schedule on the front page of the thread.
2. Determine which meals you are able to join and would like to sign up for. (Only the ones that require reservations of course. Any counter service meals are simply either show up, or don't.)
3. Lastly, post here on the thread, send me a PM here on the DIS, OR message me on Facebook, and let me know which ones you are signing up for.

Bridget/sierranevada is going to be working with her contact person over at Disney to secure all the reservations when the time comes. But she will be making them based on the lists I send her, so make sure you get that info to me as soon as you are able.

Thank you!! :)

I haven't really said anything here...I think I mentioned it on Facebook. Anyway, I won't be attending the trip. We are planning a family vacation next June to northern Michigan. I have relatives there, including my mom and grandparents, and we are going to go visit them, as well as play tourist.

It's going to be a long trip. About 3 weeks. We are taking the train there and back, which that alone will take almost 6 days round trip. Should be quite the adventure!! :scared1: :rotfl2:
But the combination of Ruben taking off such a large chunk of time, as well as the travel expenses, simply don't allow me to do both.

I am sad to miss out on seeing good friends and meeting new ones, of course. :grouphug: But I am excited about taking a nice, long family vacation back to the place where I am originally from, and to see family that I haven't seen since 2007. :)

Phew! It was a successful shopping weekend for me.
I'd say so!! Wow, good for you! :thumbsup2

OMG, that's great news, Capri!! Sounds like things are totally turning around for you and Justin. Whoo hoo!! :cool1:

Allegiant's flights to CA have recently changed and not for the better - boo. They don't fly into Long Beach anymore and the times for LAX stink. Alaska out of Bellingham to CA is sucky too because there are no nonstops - they all have a layover in Seattle, so it makes a 2.5 hour trip into 6 plus hours. Not fun (did that in October :scared1:)

Hopefully something good comes up and you can find a great deal!!!

Yay for sign-ups! :cool1:
Please sign me and my DD Lisa up for:
Friday - BBQ
Saturday - Jazz Kitchen
Sunday - Surf's Up

I know it's not on the schedule, but would anyone like to do a WOC viewing from the villas on Saturday night? If we get a WOC view we would like to offer our villa for that.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend ladies!
Jen- I sat inside Walmart for ever to get a PS3 & w Xbox 360's thank goodness for friends lol!!

Sarah- airfare is crazy expensive!

Nothing but sucky flights from Spokane too. Seems pricey this year. The least expensive flights I can find (around $230) gets me into LAX, and uh, I don't wanna fly into LAX. I'm also stressing out over this whole flight business because I need to get there plenty early in order to help set up/decorate/etc for the Meet and Greet. Worries me a bit. :guilty:

Justin is keeping his manager position at ACE. Wade (my brother) is now the Washington and Idaho certified appraiser for ERC, and I will be his apprentice and point person. Basically I will be doing all the research and putting the appraisals reports together while earning a percentage of the fee for each report. I am beyond excited to be earning a paycheck....but a little nervous about training and all the "what ifs" that continuously plague my brain. :goodvibes

Your family trip to Michigan sounds like so much fun! But we will miss you...a lot. :sad1:

I've got you and Lisa on the lists. You two are the first! (sign-up lists are on the front page, post #9 for anyone wanting to take a peek)

Thanks. It will be nice to see family again. And with their advanced age, it will probably be the last time I see my grandparents alive. Sobering thought, but true. Anyway, we've traveled to Michigan by car, and by plane, so to do it by train will be a new experience! Hopefully a good one.

I feel a bit like we are embarking on Amazing Race. We have to take a limo from our house to the airport. There are literally no shuttle services that pick up from a private residence out here. (like a PrimeTime shuttle or something) I spent hours searching. So for $60 a limo will take all 6 of us to the airport.
From there we catch the Amtrak bus to Kingman, AZ where we finally board the train. We get off in Chicago, and rent a minivan to get us the rest of the way into northern MI. It's nuts!! :rotfl: Definitely an adventure.

Me, Me, Me. Sign me up :thumbsup2 I'm crossing my fingers that we get the WOC view. It was so fun last year! Have I said Thanks yet for getting this all together for us? You did Wunnnnnderfulllll!

Great news Capri!!! :goodvibes I totally get the "what ifs" about everything. I could win the lottery but I would still be stressed out and thinking about the "what ifs". :rotfl:

Sounds like quite the adventure Beth. My friend loves the train. He took it from CA to Chicago, IL. You will be missed though. I would have loved to have met you. You've done so much for the group, so thank you.

Jodi, the BBQ is where we sit and stuff our faces with as much yummy ribs, chicken, beans, cornbread and cole slaw as we possibly can, drink soda out of mason jars, and watch delightfully hokey entertainment! :goodvibes It is outside by the Big Thunder trail.

Beth~~I guess I DID miss all of that on FB......thanx for retelling the tale! Very excited for you & your big trip....sounds like something that will mean a lot to you. You will be missed......AGAIN! I'm still hoping to work things out, as this is something I look forward to.

Still hit & miss on catching everything, still trying to get the old place done....it's become quite a project, especially with Mike having trouble getting off work due to no 2nd meatcutter in his store. We have to be done by next Monday!! I'm leaving Tuesday (the 6th) for my mini DL trip.....so looking forward to going....ready for a break!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!!

I'm so sad! I missed your birthday meet up by a few days and thought it wasn't SO bad, cuz I'd get to finally meet you in February. Now I MUST make DH take me to Vegas..... LOL

I don't want to speak for Patrice, but I'd definitely be interested in a Villa Party WOC viewing this year. We wanted to be up close for it last year, but now I've been-there-done-that. LOL
