I've had a theory (and yes you come up with several when you're at the bottom of the school food chain xD):
Popularity is based solely off of fear.

Fear of being inadequate is just what gives power, sadly.

If you're nice, you'll have lots of friends, but you wouldn't be "popular" which is weird since popular=well liked and most of the time popular=hated. So I dunno xD

That is so true. I am in the cheerleader clique(although I hate that it is called a clique) and we are looked at as being sluts and *****s.

in the interest of full disclosure im not a big fan of cheerleaders. now i am NOT AT ALL saying that i don't like people who are cheerleaders, i have tons of friends that i love to death that are cheerleaders but i just have never liked the cheerleader stereotype.

again i am NOT SAYING that you fit into that stereotype, in fact i'm pretty sure you don't which is great keep at it, i just hate that for some reason when some people think of cheerleaders their minds automatically go to a certain idea of what that means.

But I have total respect for respectful ones, which for the most part, are all.

Movies and books and stuff has classified cheerleaders as mean ----s and ----s. When, in fact, not all of them are, like Sweedish Meetball (sorry Idk your name)
