Ok, so I have bad news and good news...

The bad news is is that it doesn't look like I will be making the trip this next go round. :sad2: The good news is because I am PREGNANT!!! :woohoo: I am actually due February 20th!

Congratulations! That's awesome.

I'm down for grey, I wear a lot of it already. In fact, I just bought a grey t-shirt with Mickey on it in black before my last trip, so I can totally wear that!

I'm in a great mood today. I've started on my 1/2 marathon training, and a home improvement project. Yesterday I did some demolition on the horrid cabinets and work table in my garage, which was fun, but exhausting and a major workout. I've also been watching caloric intake and drinking a lot of water and as of this morning I've lost 3lbs since Thursday when I started! Yay!

Thank you all ladies! :goodvibes We have been building a few Disney-related ideas for our reveal to our families, but should be letting them know after our vacation. Then we will post on fb :)

I am so bummed to miss the trip! You will all have to post lots of photos so I can feel like I am there.

Ok, first of all

CONGRATS TO JEN!!! How exciting!! But we will miss you! :sad2:

Now to shirts...lol...once again.

I am happy with gray, or any color chosen!:thumbsup2

I also like wearing the any Disney shirt the last day on Sunday. Everyone will know each other by then. :goodvibes

I was wondering if you all would be OK with switching tee colors from Wednesday to Saturday, and visa versa.

This is my reasoning.

It sounds like on Wednesday, many of you will not be here yet. So most you will not be able to wear the pink tee again. Which is too bad, cause you paid for it already. Also, I ordered extras last year thinking I would need to have them, not knowing that all these changes would be happening. I would like to have a good home for them. And I'm not saying all of this because the tee is so fabulous. I didn't even come up with the design. That was Jill's. But i did put a lot of heart, soul and time into them, and I would love to see all of you in them again, if possible.

So getting to Wednesday again. If we change to wear gray/grey on that day, there might only be a small group that needs them, verses everyone needing them for Saturday.

Anyways, I hope I am making sense, and not like I am complaining. I don't want to open a can of worms you know, and make waves.

Whatever is decided, I will go with the flow. :thumbsup2 I just wanted to let you know how I felt.

Thanks for listening. :grouphug:

I am planning on wearing my pink tee again, so any day for that is good with me. Gray is fine with me for any day but I think it would make a dull princess photo. So there you have my opinion. :) I won't be there on Wed. and not until Th. for the meet and greet. I am not planning on buying any tees until the colors/days are set in stone. :rotfl:

So like this:

Wed - previous years shirt
Thurs - lime green
Fri - new group tee
Sat - grey shirt (is it gray or grey??? I see it both ways)
Sun - favorite Disney shirt (that way people can still wear their past Diva shirts if they want to)

Just asking if this is what everyone was thinking??

Perfect and exactly right!!

I think pink for Wednesday makes more sense. It's an easy color to spot for newbies and the pink shirt is familiar, so it will be a lot easier for new peeps to find a group of us in hot pink for sure. The pink tees are fab, Mel, but I also think it's good to mix up the tees we wear in group pics - not always the new shirt in the big group and last year's in the princess pics. You'll still get to see everyone in their pink tee on Wednesday.

Or the lime green on Wednesday.... that color can be seen from space. :rotfl:

First off congratulations Jen!!!!

Grey works for me, I don't need to buy a new shirt! And fifty shades of Divas cracks me up.

I think lime green for Wednesday might be a good idea, a lot of ladies will be there on that day. Then we can wear pink on Thursday so more ladies will need the pink shirt which will help out Mel with her inventory of them. Both colors also stand out so if any new ladies arrive on either day they will be able to spot us easily. Just my thoughts but I am fine with anything.

Have a great day everyone, we are headed to Epcot in a little bit, it's going to be another long, hot and fun day!!!

Jen CONGRATS!! That is great news.

Laurie I totally agree with your feelings and I hope everything works out for both you and for little Mia. I KNOW she will have a great home if she ends up with you guys!!

We are only a few days out from our trip and I have been sick all week and now this morning shelby was supposed to go to Vacation Bible School with her friend and woke up with a migraine. She has had a few headaches before but it looks like she def inherited the migraines from me. Poor kid. I have suffered with these stupid things for YEARS and it has really affected my life. I have taken every drug known to man but in the end it can really ruin your plans. She is too young for the major drugs so I just had to give her tylenol and send her to bed. I sure hope she is better quick!!

As for the shirt colors I have always been a go with the flow person on whatever is chosen. Whether it be shirts, activities whatever. We still don't know if we will make it or not.

The plan is to go that weekend no matter what and either be full on diva trip or we will be at Katy's cheer comp and only make a few of the diva activties. The cheer comp is on Saturday so I am glad that that day is open now since I will be busy with that if we end up doing it and we prob won't be able to come till Thurs afternoon so I don't want the girls to miss any more school than they have to.

So I prob won't know WHAT the heck I am doing till WAY later in the year. Like prob after november. That's when the reg cheer season ends and I think that is when we will determine if she is going to do the comp stuff. At least cheer STARTS in August so I can ask the coaches/other moms what to expect so hopefully I will know what the heck is going on.

Anyway hope everyone has a GREAT day!

Jen CONGRATS!! That is great news.

Thank you! :goodvibes

Mel~ I would still love a shirt for next year's trip so keep me in mind when we start that process :)

We went and watched Brave last night. I LOVED it! :lovestruc We were some of the last to get in and we were there for the preview 2 hours early! The theatre they held it in was disgusting though. Disney would not have approved, I am sure. The ceiling was moldy and the fabric draped up there was water-damaged and hanging off in strips. You could tell there had been many leaks and no repairs. They also searched our bags and used wands to search us before entering - crazy! Anyways, the movie had us laughing the entire time! The dad and triplets are hilarious; the plot was not what I expected given the previews. I won't spoil it, but you all will have to see it!

lime green .... that color can be seen from space. :rotfl:

Especially if it's tie dye :thumbsup2

I think lime green for Wednesday might be a good idea, a lot of ladies will be there on that day. Then we can wear pink on Thursday

We'd already talked about Thursday being the real "first day" and the traditional DIS lime green day. Keep in mind too that some of the ladies compromised to wear pink last year with the promise of "it's only one day, seriously". Keeping the familiar shirt for the first day will be extra easy for newbies to spot and still keep the traditional lime green day that seems to be so popular.

First of all, I completely understand all the reasoning here but do want to point out something. In the past, since we have reused the prior year's shirt, a lot of ladies would ask to order it. Knowing this, Mel ordered some extra pink ones so she would have them for the new ladies. Now we are switching gears (again, change is good!) but this leaves Mel with extra shirts that she paid for. So my suggestion would be to do the prior year's shirt on Sat in hopes that some of the new ladies would order it and help Mel out with the money she spent on shirts. And for trips going forward, do the prior year's shirt on the first day. That way, Mel knows not to order extras for this year.

Just my thoughts - don't want anyone out any money because we changed things up.

I usually don't say anything but Bridget I get where you are coming from but just my 2 cents on the matter. I know that Mel had done an AMAZING job on these shirts but even as far back as the first trip I went on in 09 people on the NEW trips have always wanted to somehow get some of the shirts from the previous trips. I think Mel and some of the ladies who have been around since the beginning can attest that as long as we do a day with the prior years shirts there are always those that want one whether it be just to match or def in the last two years because Mel's shirts are AMAZING and some that may not have been around or perhaps didn't go the previous year wanted to get one.

Now I am not trying to make waves either but I think if we all agree that we want to wear the prior years shirts it prob should be determined that either you have to get it when you get it and if you don't have one you have to just wear a similiar color OR if Mel is willing to do it then make it so that people can get the previous shirts the following year.

Frankly I don't care either way and I think it should probably be up to Mel how she wants to handle it since she is the one that does all the work and puts up her money.

But I know that by saying we are going to wear the previous shirts on the first day a lot of people don't come on the first day esp if it is now on a wed AND if they DID want the shirts and Mel no longer has any then that could be a problem too.

This is all just my 2 cents but speaking from previous trips I know it has always been something people wanted.

Even before Mel made them there were people wanting the tink shirts at least and not too sure about the pirate ones because I don't think they wore those again but just an FYI since now that Mel has done them I know a LOT of people want a chance to get them if possible.

Anyway just my perspective. But I think ultimately it should be up to Mel.

I'm voicing my opinion as a Newbie, who has never gone on one of these trips. I VERY much would like to have a "stand out" color recognizable by Newbies like me for Wednesday and Thursday--I don't see grey as that stand out color because too many other people wear it. So for me the previous year's T-shirts and Lime Green (by the way how lime green are we talking here--really lime green, which is not necessarily bright--have you seen a lime lately, or highlighter green, which is) on the first two days, since the first day this year (Wednesday) is kind of a semi-day.

I understand Mel's needs to sell the rest of her shirts, but as a Newbie I would like to get one, so that I would not only be able to pick out the Divas, but they would be able to pick out me:cheer2: I would assume others, who weren't able to go last year would feel the same. Hopefully that would be enough to fulfill her inventory. From the talk I've heard on this board, these T-shirts are pretty amazing, so who wouldn't want one--right? BTW how much are they and how do we get them?

Jen, I don't know you personally, but I'm so happy for you. A baby is always a wonderful thing :hyper: Too bad I won't be able to meet you this year, but I'm learning more about everyone by following this board. Do I understand you work at DLR? As an AP I go all the time (was just there yesterday and will be there next week) and could meet you during one of your shifts. It would be nice to know at least one Diva in person :wave2:

So excited :cheer2: and glad it's good. My kids and I can't wait to see it.

It was just the past year that we started reusing the t-shirts, not that it's been tradition, so it's never been an issue in the past. Anyone who wants the pink shirt is still able, if Mel has their size, to order one to wear on the Wednesday, right? Or if they just want the color and not the expense of purchasing two shirts, they can easily get a bright pink shirt (this is also an issue - the expense involved with "keeping up"). The same situation will come up next year as well then, since newbies for the next year wouldn't have the previous year's shirts and would then either have to try and get one from Mel or order the same color......

The lime green is as lime or green as you want it to be!! Some people go fluorescent, some just do green. The really awesome ones do tie tye and really bright ;-)

The original thought is the DIS lime green (I think it's Alien Green at the Home Depot - the Mickey head paint chips??)

.... and the shirts are really cute :thumbsup2

The only issue I see with using the pink shirt on the 1st day is getting it to the new people who want it so they can wear it that day. I don't think Melody wants to ship them all over the place... but I could be wrong ;) If we do lime green on Wednesday and pink on a different day, possibly Thursday, people will have a chance to pick them up on Wednesday, or they can be put at the check-in desk at Hojo's, like we've done before. Just my 2 cents, which probably isn't worth 2 cents anymore!!

Especially if it's tie dye :thumbsup2

My "tie dye" will actually tone DOWN the lime green. :cool1:

Crazy week here and it's only going to get worse from now till Convention. Which is in 27 days. EEK!

I'll be keeping up (I get the thread sent to me in email daily), so even if I'm not posting, I'm at least reading! LOL

He gave you a boat?!! How fun! If we lived closer we could go boating together. :thumbsup2

We haven't had our new boat out once. It's been too cold and rainy. Hope it warms up soon. :sad2:

I did get a new double-person tube though. It's called Big Bubba! The boys should love it! :woohoo:

That's what we had! A double person tube. And silly girl, you don't wait for nice weather! Then there are too many boats on the lake anyhow. If you go in the rain, you have the lake to yourself:)

Sadly my son tipped the tube and landed on the water with his head, very hard. He didn't tell me until Monday that he couldn't hear out of his left ear. He didn't want to spoil the trip. After going to the doctor to verify that there is no water in his ear, it appears that for the first time since his diagnosis at age 4, he has experienced a loss due to head trauma. It has been a very stressful few days for my son and his Mom. We hope that he will recover his hearing with the use of steroids (although the studies are inconclusive). We see the ENT on Monday and will also have a new audiogram at that time to see what the damage has been. It is at times like this that I wish I would have pushed him to learn ASL. He will be a candidate for a cochlear implant if he loses his hearing in total, but even then, you are still deaf without your implant on or in the event of failure. Having an alternative mode of communication would be awesome.
I hope so!!

So far, so good. Now we just need more ladies to pop in with their thoughts. :)

I did a bit of spy work before I posted that suggestion. Picked a few Divas at random, and looked through their photos on FB for any gray wardrobe choices, and saw quite a few. So, even though as I said, it's not the most dramatic color ever, it seemed to be a favorite of quite a few. ;)

I would have to say that I am nuetral on the gray:thumbsup2

Ok, so I have bad news and good news...

The bad news is is that it doesn't look like I will be making the trip this next go round. :sad2: The good news is because I am PREGNANT!!! :woohoo: I am actually due February 20th!

This is still VERY top secret and I am only mentioning it here because I have some pregnancy related questions up on the board regarding our trip next week and didn't want you guys seeing the spilled beans there first :goodvibes Please do not mention anything on facebook because I am planning a Disney-riffic special way of telling our parents.

Have a wonderful day and send me your girlie pixie dust! princess:

Very Cool! Princess Vibes coming at you!

SQUEEE! How exciting! But we will miss you lots!

Ok, on the gray/grey shirt--I have two Disney shirts in gray/grey so I'm all set. But I agree with whoever said it should not be on Saturday for the group pic--I think it's too drab and we wouldn't be matching and it is so striking when we all match (says the woman who missed the group pic by two minutes last year). I think either we need to move the pic to the day we get the "new" shirt (Mel's design) or have the gray/grey on Sunday or Friday. (Preferably Sunday because as someone mentioned by then the newbies will know people more.)
