I would also like to make one suggestions - it is bucking tradition so be gentle ladies!

Friday on the schedule we have the traditional group photo in front of the castle. But since the hunt will be in DCA, what about a new place for the photo - maybe in front of the new Cathay circle fountain??

We can always do both a castle photo and PFF photo on Sat.

That sounds fabulous!!

Actually only a small number of Divas are coming in on Wednesday.

We're keeping the M&G party on Thursday since that is the day most of the ladies are coming in and will still be the main day to meet and greet everyone. Because of this, I think it's better to wear lime green on Thursday. :thumbsup2

Agreed.

OKay, shall we be done with the t-shirts now??? PLEASE?

Wednesday: Prior trip group shirt
Thursday: Lime Green
Friday: New group tee
Saturday: Favorite Disney shirt
Sunday: Red shirt

I think this sounds great and it's workable forever and we don't ever have to "discuss" it again - woo hoo!!!!

We already know that not everyone is going to like every color, but seriously, it's just a color for one day (remember that some people really pushed for teal *cough - Jessica - cough* even though others really didn't care for it..... ) and others who detest pink wore it (and will wear it again ;-)

But at least there was a discussion about it.

The way it reads the discussion is on the order, not the color which is what I'm curious about. And I don't appreciate being singled out a la: (remember that some people really pushed for teal *cough - Jessica - cough* even though others really didn't care for it..... ). I made a suggestion. Yes it was one I preferred, but it wasn't my sole decision the day after I suggested it.

This ...
Friday- new tee. More on that later.

Saturday- Pink tee, would look great for the Princess photos this year.

Sunday- what ever color is picked for this year, be it red or whatever.

Ok, take it for whatever it is worth.

Reads a heck of a lot differently than this ...

OKay, shall we be done with the t-shirts now??? PLEASE?

Can this just be it? Once and for all? I know it's not perfect, and I'm sorry that we can't please each and every one of the 58 or so ladies attending, but I think it's a fair compromise. And after all, when you sign up to travel on a group trip, there simply has to be some give and take. :flower3:

In one page and that's all I'm curious about.

Perhaps the shirt for the last day doesn't have to be a single solid color.

I mean, maybe we could pick a pattern instead. Like for instance, stripes. There are a lot of super cute striped shirts out there. It wouldn't really matter if the stripes are horizontal or vertical, just as long as everyone was in stripes. And then everyone could wear whatever colored stripes they wanted, be it red and white stripes, white and black stripes, pink and black stripes, blue and greens stripes, ect.

Or we could all wear floral.

Or polka dots.

Anyway, just a thought that picking a fun pattern may be a little easier and make everyone happy because then everyone can choose the colors they enjoy wearing for that day.

:flower3:

Well, I hope you can still make it. But, if not maybe we can meet up when you are out here!

But...but...but... you just have to be there on the 19th! :( That's when we are all hanging out and we're even gonna go eat in Carsland and everything! It won't be the same without our female impersonator, Wendall.

Heck ya! You're taking me to Fremont Street! LOL

I hope I can do the 19th. I was just talking to Mr Wonderful about it, and he does understand that it's a "Diva thing", so it's still a 'yellow light', but it's not off the list.

Wendy - would you be driving down if you go that weekend?????

But at least there was a discussion about it.

There has been discussion about it. There is always discussion about everything. I have never made a unilateral decision regarding anything to do with this trip. Not once since day one.

You wanted teal last year. Several people didn't and yet most of us sucked it up and went with it. In my mind, that's part of signing up for a group trip. When I'm traveling with 50-60 other ladies, I'm aware I will have to compromise on some of the things I do. I wore tie dye when it was part of the plan, even though I am not a fan. And I know some of the ladies wore pink, even though they would never wear it normally. In my mind, it's a small price to pay to be part of a fun group. :confused3

IF I want to be in total control, then I plan my own solo trip. Or plan a family trip where my kids have to listen to me. ;)

So if not red, then what? (Keeping in mind that I was never dead set on red, it was just put in there because it HAD already been discussed and from those who had an opinion, both here and FB, it seemed mostly favorable. Plus we've used it in the past and it was well received.)

Orange? Some will love that, some will hate it.

Brown? Some are fine with chocolate brown, others think it literally looks like crap.

Maroon?

Peach?

Gray?

Tan?

Navy?

There are so many options. But, you know what? I promise you, you will NEVER find one that every single person loves.

Anyway, I guess that's all I have to say on that. Sorry if this sounds witchy or like I'm attacking you. I don't mean to. I'm just frustrated that this is such an issue and it seems so hard for some people to bend even a little bit.

That's right! Deep fried Twinkies and Oreos on Fremont. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Hey, a yellow light is better than a red light! Gives you some wiggle room. ;)

I don't see tie dye on the list! :rotfl2:

Since pink is a shade of red, I'll wear my 2012 shirt on Sunday since I don't arrive till Thursday. Just like I may wear my WOC shirt that has a hint of lime green in it on Thursday. This isn't LAW, people. You won't be forced to ride Small World till your ears bleed if you don't wear the "right shirt" on the "assigned day". :rotfl:

I haven't worn a lime green shirt yet. And if I don't get my Mickey head navy tie dye done on the green shirt I have, I won't wear one in 2013 either. LOL I always do the photo pass and the idea of PAYING for a photo of me in a GREEN shirt? Not happening. LOL. I'm scary enough now that I'm letting my hair go "natural" (read GREY). I don't need to look like TRUE walking death by wearing green, yellow or orange. *snort* And how did Lime Green end up as the DIS color? Many of the boards are a BLUE theme. At least on my computer. This one is actually a pleasant lemony color. I figure there are more important issues to use my decision brain cells on. Like which dining options I will sign up for! :cool1:

This isn't me "not bending", it's me asking a question. As far as I've read (:rotfl:) red was literally brought up as an idea yesterday and there weren't many comments on it either which way. So I was just wondering how it came to be listed in your post. I don't see what's wrong with discussing something a little longer as a group, especially one on a discussion board. Forgive my curiosity and actually posting about it.

Cuz Teal ROCKS! The non-color that it is! LOL!

Honestly, folks. Either wear the shirt or don't. No one is going to poison your food if you don't wear the right color. I didn't quite match everyone in one of the group photos my first year and I'm still here. Just be confident that we really like you no matter what you are wearing, cuz we do. I even love Capri, who hates tie-dye. :rotfl2: (sorry, Capri.... I had to go there..... :lmao:)

You bet! And I am REALLY good at using even the smallest sliver of wiggle room to my advantage. :beach:

I think "red" and "blue" both got tossed out there because they are colors nearly everyone has in their wardrobe SOMEWHERE. So did "brown". Red runs from light to dark. Pink to wine. Mmmmm... wine.... It's all good.

Are there any mini-meets planned? Particularly in October.
I'm going in Oct. Just not sure which weekend.
Ever since we decided on the theme, I can not get that song out of my head!
Well it;s a good song. We should all stroll through Carsland singing it !
:

I'm up for a change in location for the photo and it makes sense since the scavy hunt is in CA.

So, now that you all know the theme for this year's hunt, I would now like to share with you my thoughts on the new tee for Friday.

In my mind, I am thinking of a shirt in sky blue to start with.
I would like to incorporate a tee with the Carsland theme of Route 66.
I would like to have a car cruisin on the street with a Diva wearing mouse ears sitting in it.
For the bling, it would be cool to use road and neon signs to start with.
Tee pees, the Cadillac Ridge, and so on on the design

I also want to try and make it look retro. LOL.... you know me and retro. But it is always in, and it goes perfectly with the theme for this year.

I hope this all sounds good to you. :goodvibes

.

Sounds groovy to me. I love retro!
Oh yeah! The Diva will be sitting in a convertible! :car:
Double groovy!

I like the tee color lineup.:thumbsup2
Red is not my thing but I have no problem wearing it for one day. There are many shades of red. Brick Red, metalic - lol, bright, dull, shiny, oh the list goes on and on.:rotfl:

Just my two cents.....but this shouldn't be stressful and painful.....we're talking about a color.

Last year, I wasn't able to find teal, so I wore a pink shirt & I still showed up for the character meal with the group.....they even let me eat!! :rotfl:

See what I'm getting at........you are NOT required to wear any of the colors.....you are still a welcomed member of the group!!! So if you have the color of the day...that's great....if you don't.....don't do this~~~ :scared: or this~~~ :badpc: Let's all just take a deep breath....open our crayon boxes and see that every color is beautiful in it's own way!!

:flower3:

The not bending part was a general statement, Jessica.

As I said before, I really don't care what color it is. Use red. Or don't. But at some point a decision has to be made. Whether that is now, or whether this same conversation is picked up again three months from now doesn't really matter.

Yes. Primary or neutral colors that most people already have. Since blue is already looking like it will be the new group tee color, red seemed like a good default color. And, as I said, we've used it before (year 3 I think) and it worked well then.
My posting it in the line up, didn't make it set in stone.

I think I could use some wine....and I don't even drink. ;)

How about we all go naked, and if you don't want to go naked, you wear clothes. Problem solved. No new shirts. No color debate. No non-colors. You're welcome. :thumbsup2
:rotfl: bom chicka bow wow!
Some of us are going to be there with our families in October.
Me and my family - Oct. 18-21
Capri and her family - Oct. 17-23
Cheryl, Linda and Brianne Oct. 19-21
Carol, with her daughter Lisa and their family Oct. 13-20
Lisa was going to be there. I think she still is.
Vicki might join us.
I can't remember who else...

Oct. 18, I'm taking the family to Knott's Scary Farm.
The 19th I'm ditching the family and a bunch of us (Divas) are meeting in the parks to hang out. Chris is joining us that day.
The 20th, I'm taking my family to Universal Studios. So is Capri. We are meeting there. Anyone is welcome to join us at US if you want!
Um....I am going in October too....:wave2: The DH and I are going October 12-14th for our 6th anniversary :)

Just a heads up. It might take a while to get this done. My son is extremely busy right now. As soon as we can get some what of a rough draft done, it will be shared. :thumbsup2

PS- I also thought it would be nice to have a tee done for DCA, since we haven't had one themed to it yet.

I love it! Of course, anything you make is fabulous, Mel :goodvibes:flower3:

Capri~ I like the idea of a pattern - polka dots would be so cute!

Emerald green would also be a nice, flattering color. Or lavender.

I agree, but at this point, I feel like I've been indirectly accused of single handedly making a decision for the entire group when I was only trying to help. That especially hurts because those of you who know me and who've been around these trips for awhile, know that is not how I work. I have always bent over backward to include everyone in every decision made.

Maybe I am overreacting and taking it too personally. But that particular point is a sore spot with me since I work hard to make sure everyone feels welcomed and that their opinions are valued.

Might be time for an early bedtime tonight! Clearly I am overtired and getting worked up over nothing. :upsidedow

Night ladies!! :)

That's right! I remember now. I knew I was forgetting someone.
That will make such a nice anniversary. Ruben and I went last June for ours and it was so fun. :goodvibes

Which wasn't my intent in any way shape or form. All I did was ask a question that was on my mind.

Ladies, first and foremost!

The most important thing of this whole trip is the fun and friendships. Be it old friends or new ones to come, it is the time we get to spend with each other, at the happiest place on Earth.

When it comes down to it, does it really matter what day and what tee? At first you think so, but does it really matter? No!
There are just some things that 50 plus ladies are never going to agree on, and that my dear friends....is clothing. Color, style, design....you name it, it just isn't going to happen. :worried:

It's not about the tees!
(And this is coming from someone who put a lot of heart and soul into those things.)

It's about us! Our friendships! :grouphug:The fun! :dance3: The parties! party: The hunt! :magnify: THE FOOD!!!!! popcorn::
Oh and how can I forget? THE RIDES for crying out loud! :cool1:

Now at some point and time, someone is going to have to make a final decision. I would like Beth our ring leader to have it. She does so much for us, and she has heard everyone's requests, be it here or in PMs I'm sure. i know she will take everyone into consideration.
And we all need to be on board, no matter what happens. I might not like it, you might not like it, but that has to be OK!

So pretty please, let us remember why we are here, and why we have continued to keep up the tradition of this special trip.

It's about the DIS Divas and our friendships!
