It is super de duper rainy and windy today which I am really loving. Certainly atypical weather for San Diego. I bet DL was soggy today.

And today was MouseAdventure DATP! Good think you didn't go!! It may have been a repeat of Raindeer games :scared:

They told me what I'd need to do to get another one. I'll just be from Whittier until then I suppose. :rotfl: Well, I am an official CM now (totally just had to use my ID to get into Disneyland last night) but still have 2 days of classes and then I start on the job training.
I'm sure you'll have lots to tell us about life as a CM. Can't wait to hear it !
I felt they didn't explore the history between Peeta and Katniss as much as they should have. If you didn't read the books, you wouldn't "get it".

That's exactly what Nicole's fiance said, he didn't read the books.

We had heavy rain all afternoon but it's clear now.

Are they training you in DL or do you get to go in the new stores in DCA? Did they tell you for sure where you get to work? And where (or who) are you living with? Can you tell I am living vicariously through you and your awesome new job?! :rolleyes1

That's alright by me!! I will be at Disney California Adventure for sure. I actually had Our California Story today which I had fun with despite taking the tour after it had been raining (my shoes filled up with water). As if I wasn't already super excited about everything going on between Buena Vista Street, Carsland, etc., this just expanded on that excitement. I have a general idea on where you'll be able to find me but I think I may want to leave that a mystery for now ;) I'm getting closer to being out in costume and I can't wait.

I'm living about 2.5 miles away so it's really close which is a good thing. The shorter "commute" will make balancing both jobs a tiny bit easier but I still need to figure that out. I'm just renting a room from a middle aged couple for now. I'd like to keep it at no more than 3 months and move in with other people into an apartment or something as soon as possible. But at least I have a roof over my head (and my own bathroom). That's what is important.

Off to bed for me! I've got an early morning tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a great weekend :grouphug:

Ahh, Monday again. The weekends simply aren't long enough. Oh well, this is the kids last week before Spring Break, so that's one good thing.

Hope everyone has a good start to their week!

My DD11, Dh and I saw Hunger games yesterday and enjoyed it. I was surprised to find at the end to have sympathy for Cato in the scene on top of the cornocopia.

I want rain. It was super windy here last night. And we did get a tiny bit of rain, which is to say about 10 minutes worth.

That cornucopia was sure different than I'd imagined in my mind. I was thinking of this giant Thanksgiving thing, the kind you fill with fruit. LOL I couldn't picture how they'd climb something like that. :rotfl:

I have jury duty tomorrow. It is bittersweet. I have always wanted to be on jury duty (in hopes I get picked for a cool trial), but it is so hard to have a sub in my ASL classes.
I'm sorry you've been so sick. I hope you start to feel better soon. And good luck with jury duty. I've never done that before.

I plan to be in DL/DCA this Wednesday and Saturday .... and maybe another day too.

That seems to be the number one complaint online that I've been reading. Not that the movie wasn't good, just not complete as far as setting up the story of the Hunger Games, and the relationship between the two main characters. I mean, after all, that is supposed to be what the entire second book is based on, the star crossed lover bit.
Also I agree with this line from one reviewer: "The novel’s most unnerving detail, that a pack of man-eating synthetic mutts have the eyes of murdered children, is inexplicably left out: Now they're just generic beasts." Too many important little details in the book were left out or not explored enough for my taste.
Oh well. It was fine. As I said before, I think they did the best they could. It was a good book, but maybe not the easiest to put onscreen.

I did really enjoy Jennifer Lawrence though. She's a great actor. I went to see Winter's Bone in the theater, and liked her in that.

Oh, and a bit off topic but there was actually one couple who brought their toddler to the movie! I was like... Why the heck would you bring a 2-3 year old to this movie? Forget the subject matter, which they wouldn't comprehend, but the ending with the mutts was scary, and the freakin movie was almost 2 and a half hours long! What 2 year old can sit quietly that long???
Well, not this one. She cried twice and had to be taken out a couple times. Why even bother?? Get a sitter or stay home. I've been there. I've had four kids. If I couldn't leave them with Grandma then Ruben and I just didn't go out. But I wouldn't bring my kid and potentially ruin someone else's experience.
I was seated far enough away from them that it didn't ruin it for me, but had I been near them like some people, I would've been pissed! Sorry for the rant, just my own pet peeve. :rolleyes1

So exciting!! I can't wait to hear more!! popcorn::

Have fun!! :wizard:

I think that it is so dumb when people bring their young children into movies like that. If a child can't sit through a movie at home, they are definitely not going to sit through one in the theater. When we went to paranormal activity 2, not one, but 2 young kids were in there. That is definitely not a movie for kids. I don't understand how people think that is ok.

Jessica, I am glad to hear you are having fun so far, despite being stuck in the rain yesterday. I am looking forward to finding out where you'll be working. :goodvibes

I told Russ that if we win the lottery, the first thing I'm doing is buying a condo as close as I can get to Disneyland. You could live there. LOL

My small children in theaters gripe list includes when the kids can't/won't sit still so the parents let them RUN UP AND DOWN THE AISLES and across the front of the theater. Argh. Even better if they are laughing or squealing as they do it in quiet/serious parts of the movie. It's one of the top reasons I don't see movies in the theater anymore. I'm tired of rude people ruining it. I didn't spend $10 to sit in a room with kids running around during a movie. Then there are the cell phones, the texters, the talkers..... ugh. I can't remember the last movie I saw in a theater. It may have been POTC At Worlds End. Yeah. That long ago! I may go and see Titanic in 3D next week though. Hopefully the cost of a 3D showing and going to the 1st showing will eliminate the kid factor.

I try to stick to late shows to avoid going to a show with kids, but there always seems to be someone with a baby still. And also the talkers and texters. I am not one to say anything to the talkers, but last week when a friend and I went to see Silent House, there were only like 10 people in the room, and there were these people a few rows back talking, when it was supposed to be a suspenseful part of the movie. I think about 4 of us at the same time ended up yelling "ssssh" at the same time, and it got them mad and wanted to pick a fight. People like that need to stay at home!

Happy Saturday to all!!! It's a dreary day around here, but that's ok. We are not doing much today and my neck is KILLING me!!!! I...need...a....message!!!!!!

Besides Erin just had to check out the Muppets TV show from the library. Good day to sit in our jammies and watch the Muppets and have neck smothered in Bio-Freeze!!!!

Don't you just LOVE Bio-Freeze? I use that on my shoulder/neck when they start to hurt. I used it on my back when I was having problems with that as well, it worked so well!! Love that stuff! Where do you get yours? Our office has a stocked first aid kit that has it in there. :)

I cannot wait to find out where you are working!!!!!! I'll be looking all over on my next trip looking for Jessica from Martinez! LOL And the having your own bathroom thing is HUGE! :)

the girls loved HG, they said it was the best movie ever. :) I knew they'd like it but I'm really glad it lived up to their expectations. Jade (DD12) said she cried 5 times.

My weekend was busy but fun, as always. :) Yesterday I went to my friends' house, they are remodeling and to save some money they decided to do some of the demo themselves so we went over and helped them tear up their kitchen. She and I popped the countertops off and we ripped out a bunch of cabinets, it was fun but I'm a little sore today. Not too bad, they had the right tools for the job, my shoulders are a bit sore but that's about it. Tonight I'm teaching a "new" old dance at the club, it's one that was done years ago but I'm hoping people like it enough to bring it back. :) I'm having dinner with my girls before that so it should be a lot of fun tonight.

Of course not! I finally have some free time to just do as I please (so of course I'm on the DIS) and nobody's around.

Well, you're here. Hi!!

Agreed. And I don't get mad at the kids, it's the parents who need to use a little more common sense. After all, these aren't Disney or cartoon-ish movies we are talking about.

The last movie I went to see before Hunger Games was The Grey. (awesome movie, by the way!) The guy in front of me kept checking his phone and it was sooo bright. I had to shift positions every time so I wouldn't be blinded.

Are you a big Titanic fan?

My daughter said when she went to see The Woman in Black, there were some people who were just loud, talking, yelling things out at the screen, etc.
People in the theater were getting really mad, and someone yelled at the group to "shut the F up". I was just glad a fight didn't break out while she was at the movies! :sad2:

Awww, that's cute! My girls liked it a lot, too. I am just overly critical. ;)

Well, if you make it to DCA on Saturday, keep an eye out for me ;)
Yay!!! :cool1:

It's so quiet tonight!!
Very quiet here lately. Today was a busy day for me. Appt, errands, etc. Darn real life.

It's interesting. Different, but not at the same time. I'd much rather not be renting a room but considering what I had to work with to get down here it's fine. The couple are nice, so that's a plus. But I have a feeling if I stay longer than a couple of months they'll drive me up a wall crazy. I'm really loving all of my days with the new job so far though, lol. ;) Like, really loving it!

Darn, darn real life!

Now that I have my training schedule for DCA I can finally get back to my new Target store about what hours I can come in this week. So I'm giving them a call tomorrow after 10. Tomorrow after 10. I need to remember that, lol. Then I need to go on the hunt for a pair of comfortable black shoes. And socks. Can't forget those. I feel like I have something else to do tomorrow that I'm just blanking on.

It's the parents that I get annoyed with too. Cause usually when their kids are talking and running around, the parents aren't doing anything about it. They just ignore it and act like it's ok. Late shows! I like the late ones, haha.

That's good that you are loving the job. It must be such a fun place. How did you like Electronica the other night? It looks like fun, even though the decor is tacky. Looks like they've taken a lot of it down for the time being though, thank goodness.

You know, I actually had a lot of fun with ElecTRONica ... once I had my Glowjito. It's hard for me to enjoy something like that when I'm all tense like I usually am. But she got me to dance, taught me some dance thing for her latest 100 days of dance challenge - which she had to film. Not so sure I would have agreed to that under normal circumstances. And I got to meet that favorite DJ of hers.

I still hate all of the pieces during the day because it ruins the area for me (one of my favorites, although when Buena Vista Street is complete you had better believe that will be my #1) but at night it works. They have already started taking bits of it down. There's not much longer until it's final night and then the Mad T Party will be debuting.
