Crazy airfare is the word, right?? We looked at going to wdw... Oh my goodness! It would have cost us as much to fly there as our package would have!! We went in May of 2010, and we paid $198 round trip, per person!! THAT... I would do. I have found $350 per person, but DANG. Thats so much! Its even expensive to fly down to disneyland. My husband and I are going in June and its running us about $100 more then it normally would. But since its only the two of us I dont mind. :cool1:

Noelle will be 16 this year, too. But not until November. I told her she has to wait until our Feb. 2015 trip to join! LOL

I'm sorry to hear they may not be able to do the wedding here. That's too bad. And you already used your points, too! Darn. But hey, might as well come have some fun. ;)

Definitely going to be fun, even if we just sit on our bootays at the pool all day, it will be fun!! It's going to be my Mom's birthday that weekend so I'm planning to make her a cake, we will have a BBQ grill so I think we will grill....it should be fun. I've spoken with her and she's saying no wedding in Vegas. :( Plus side is it will be easier to meet up with you!! :) So, maybe we can do lunch or dinner one of the days we are there?

Good morning ladies!! I'm excited because I booked a trip to Disney World and Universal for Laila and me :yay:. I was going to wait until Oct. 2014, but I really wanted to take her to see Barney at Universal before she gets too old for him. She loves Barney right now.

The sad part is that I will be going in October when Beth, Capri and a few other Divas will be at Disneyland and I will miss them :guilty:. This is a downer since I love hanging out with the girls.

Too bad our dates don't match :sad1:. You could have stayed in my room with me.

Hey, if there are any Divas who want to go to WDW from 10/16-10/23, let me know. I can squeeze 2 more in my room since it's only Laila and me LOL. I'll be staying at the AKV, but I might change the last 3 nights to Boardwalk or Beach Club so I can be closer to Epcot for the F&W festival.

YAY!!!!! I would totally look into taking you up on that, if I didn't have 3 other people who would likely kill me...LOL

I'll squeeze in with you. Justin, Ryan, and Luke can sleep out in the hall...the boys' domain. :thumbsup2

We'll miss Katie a lot. :sad1:

But on the bright side, my kids never liked Barney - YAY! :woohoo:

Airfare is, well, scary! :scared:

You're lucky, my oldest LOVED Barney.........lol

$350 to get poked, prodded, felt up, peeked at, squished into a tiny seat, kept hostage on the runway, bounced around, and starved. :thumbsup2

So, in June, will that include a side trip to Universal? ;)
When in June are you going?

Bummer about the wedding. She was so excited. That's a shame.

What are your days again? I need to mark them down on my calendar! We could forget lunch and dinner and go to Chippendales. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Ive had her kid living here for 2 years!!

LOL Nightmare indeed!! :scared1:

We'll just miss each other. We're going to US in June, but the week prior. We have a few days to use up on our Costco passes.
You guys will have a great time, just the two of you! :thumbsup2

4-19 to 4-22, just a quick weekend. :) I am going to start looking hard for some good airfare, altho I know it's going to be impossible. I would love to do Chippendales, but not sure how my Mom or sister would feel....or the guys we are going with! LOL Altho I'm sure the guys could find a strip club somewhere to go to. lol I'll have to run Chippendales past my Mom and sister and see what they say. lol

She was excited about the wedding but her van is dead so she has no choice really. She's not working still so it's really hurting them. Something might happen so they can come but I think for now they are simply postponing.

Just so you know, for this trip or future ones, Chippendales is not the same as a strip club. Not even close. There's no lap dances, or dollars being thrown. It's a choreographed stage show. A far cry from going to an actual strip club. Not that I've been to one. :rolleyes1

Vegas is on my places to visit, and Chippendales is one of the reasons :thumbsup2 That and the great restaurants of course....

Okay, Divas, I am not the Queen of Technology. Just sayin'. I've not sorted out how to cut and paste multiple quotes yet, I was challenged enough to figure out how to sign my name on my posts. But here's a Happy Wednesday to everyone. Only two more days to the weekend. Wahoo! :thumbsup2

In case you didn't all know by now, Beth REALLY hates flying ;)

I, on the other hand, LOVE flying. To me, that feels like I'm really going on vacation, a real adventure! I've been stuck in the car for far too many hours before that I'll take flying over driving any day.

I don't know if any of you listen to the WDW Radio podcast or know who Lou Mongello is but I have the biggest Disney nerd crush on that guy. He's just great! I've been listening to his newer podcasts and it reminds me of when I found Mouse Tunes podcast, that he used to do with Nathan Rose when I was planning our first WDW trip in 2006.

I listen to his podcast, as well as about 8 others! I like his alot, but I like the WDW Today podcast and definitely the DIS podcast. Another one that's okay is Mousechat, although they can get a little annoying sometimes. I just started listening to WDW Fanboys, only listened to a couple so far. For historical Disney stuff WEDway Radio is awesome!! A couple others I listen to when I've gone through all the rest are Passporter and Inside the Magic, just not as often.

Let me know what you think if you listen to any of those. It's kind of funny that other than the DIS podcast, the podcast people go between each podcast... like you'll hear a guest on one who is one of the main people on one of the others. But the DIS NEVER does that. I can't remember the last time they had a guest on, they're in their own little bubble! I do like the dynamics of the group, and really love the Disneyland part of the podcast.

I started listening a DIS podcast but I found it so dull that I stopped. So far, I haven't found the kind of chemistry that Lou and Nathan had but also Lou on his own has great radio presence, even with all of his babbling.

I sent you a PM about the posts. Hope it helps! :)

As for Vegas, come on down! I'll take you to Chippendales. ;) We did a Diva trip out here with about 10 or so of the ladies in '09, and a few mini meets since then. They are always a fun time. :rolleyes1

In case you didn't all know by now, Beth REALLY hates flying ;)

Well, just a little bit. :lmao:

Hi Ladies,

Just dropping by to say hi. :) I had a 4 day weekend off of work and when I got back, it's like all my customers decided to send me a bunch of P.O.'s to process and a million e-mails! :faint: I haven't been staying too late at work though because of hip hop class. My teacher told me on Tuesday... "What has gotten into you?" Me: "What do you mean?" He said: "I don't know what it is about this studio but you always dance the heck out of it and rock it!!" :) Next weekend I'm going to participate in my first flash mob!! :yay: I'm kinda nervous but excited but it's going to be fun! I can't wait to do it! :) I've always wanted to do one. We are learning the routine the day of, so this will be interesting! We will have a film crew there.

My friends and I did a video for our weekly dance challenge last Sunday. The challenge was to wear a wig so we were WIGGIN out! :teeth: The video is on my FB page (my friend tagged me in the post) if you want to see it. We chose Cee- Lo Green's song: "Forget You." Originally I thought of dancing to Whip My Hair but that song is a bit tricky to think of steps for because it's fast. I was getting a bit stressed out trying to think up steps for it so we X'd it. Phew! :faint:

Hope you guys have a good day. I have a hip hop sub today and he looks like a younger version of one of the ElecTRONica DJ's I like. :rotfl: I know, just like my new bracelet says....I'm aDORKable.

Hi ladies--sorry to be AWOL. I've been taking my Mom to doctor's appointments, picking up prescriptions and getting ready for my trip to Oahu next week! (I have had a couple of shopping sprees.) Now I have to get everything organized and packed. This time next week I'll be on a plane and halfway there!

Glad to hear about little Michalya's successful surgery on Facebook. What a relief.

Ok--back to work--just wanted to check in!

Oh and two more things: first, my DVC magazine indicated this morning that in the Spring DVC is going to let members start booking hotel rooms at the hotel portion again on points. I called member services to see if they had a points chart yet, but they don't. I guess the fact that there are so few villas is prompting this change.

Second--a few of you got to meet my friend Joe on Main Street. Joe is a great guy, and used to work directly with Walt. He was the one that I got to go to Candlelight Processional with (along with his wife and other friends).

His daughter has an online radio show and Joe is going to be on it next week along with Jack Lundquist the first President of Disneyland! Joe sent me this info (along with some pics we took which I will have to post separately later). He would love for us to listen in AND call in and ask questions of Mr. Lundquist. (Be sure and identify yourself as a Dis Diva if you do call in!):

Here is our latest newsletter just sent out thought you would enjoy.

DINING WITH DISNEY LEGAND
JACK LINDQUIST

Janet and I had a most enjoyable luncheon with Jack Lindquist the first President of Disneyland recently. Jack has a new book out “In Service to the Mouse” and we were getting together to compare notes.

My pal Allan Daum introduced us to Jack.
Allan is the pioneering legendary skipper on Jungle Cruise when Walt was roaming the park day and night.

Both had great stories some of which will be in my book “Walt Dreamers Me.”

HEADS UP FOR FRI 3-23-12 BROADCAST
Jack and Allan will come on my daughter VAISHALI’S radio show You Are What You Love for a full hour when I host the program on

Friday March 23 at 1:00PM Pacific. @WWW.PURPLEV.COM
CLICK ON “LIVE FRIDAY”

I will send you more details on the broadcast later this month.

Best of the day to all the
Disney Divas
From
Four of your fabulous pals

This visual was taken Monday Feb 20th
JUST BEFORE JOE WAS TO ADDRESS
A GATHERING AT CLUB 33

The Bishop of the Episcopal Church of Los Angeles had a taken over the trophy room and Janet and I were invited.
I spoke to the group about ”Walt The Dreamer and the Doer”

LA Bishop Jon Bruno enjoying Joe’s storytelling of Walt’s values, accomplishments and legacy.
As he always does, Joe had the audience spellbound as they learned things about Walt they never knew before.
Walt’s story is very timely today: as he did more to uplift the nation’s moral and created more jobs during the Great Depression than all the government programs and promises.
People are always blown away when they learn of Walt’s impact on the economy of America and the world during the 1930’s and 1940’s and 50’s.

As you can probably tell, Joe is quite the Disney aficianado and has a long history with the park. I thought it might be fun to have him come and speak to us next year and he has indicated that if we want him he is agreeable. Not only is Joe a fount of history about Disneyland, but he has an interesting perspective on it and Walt Disney's impact from a moral and economic standpoint. I thought maybe for those of us who would like to attend we could do a breakfast at SH 55 again and get that same room? Or, if more than that room can accommodate want to attend we could seek another venue.

What do you guys think?

I actually do know that, but I also know the boys and they wouldn't want to go to a choreographed stage show with women, that's why I mentioned a strip club. LOL :)

It took me forever to figure out how to multi-quote and longer to figure out the whole signature thing......but once I got it. :) I'll be in Vegas next month, you should come. ;)

A flash mob??? I'm soooooooooooo jealous!!!! I so want to do that!!!!

Hi everyone! This week is going by much faster than I thought it would! Tomorrow is already Friday. :cool1:

Rochelle, how cool that you are doing a flash mob!!

Cheryl, good to see you here. How is your mom doing?
I didn't know you were going to Oahu. That's awesome! Take lots of pics.
And a breakfast with your friend sounds like it would be really neat. I'd love to hear what he has to say.

Hi, Kerri!

Quiet here lately... Hope everyone is well. :)

Howdy, Divas! So glad this windy day is finally OVER. Sheesh. I chased some stuff around my yard this afternoon, but at least the fence is still standing. I really thought it would go this time, it's leaning pretty noticeably. But toward their yard, so I'm not as worried as I would be if it were leaning this way. I'm just selfish like that. LOL The last time it fell, 2 or 3 years ago, it fell into our yard and broke some stuff. Not in the mood to go thru that again. LOL Tomorrow is laundry (as always) and grocery shopping. The fun never ends, I tell ya.

no kidding. Erin's plastic pool just about made it out of the yard and off the base!!!

Fun fun fun...through a load in, go to the store so all of the food will be eaten as soon as it's brought into the house by raving teenagers!!!

You'll be signing up too right?

The day my kids turned 13 they had to start doing their own laundry. Didn't even get any complaints but my son was a bit surprised, he kept saying 'really'? Yup - really!!

YUP!!!! Teach them young!
