The others is one of my favorites. It's spooky and suspenseful. The camera work was wonderful. I Loved the ending.

Watch it Watch it and then pm me what you thought of it.

OK, If I can get the kids to agree to watching it I will rent it this weekend. We are renting quite a few so hopefully I can slip that one in.

Happy Birthday Beth!

Here's yet another vote for a dis ladies trip to see Lion King here in Vegas. I am also realizing that there are at least three of us that live in the Vegas area and that we should plan a lunch one day...

~*~Happy Birthday Beth~*~
May You be Blessed this Year and Always.:goodvibes
Thank you! :goodvibes

The one I received I was able to actually sleep on. The girl did an iron on of sleepy bears going up stairs and then "painted" it in. It was adorable. Like I said before, I still have mine. The person who got the one I made would only have used it as a decorative case since I did mine all in rhinestones. Some people puffy painted theirs, others had buttons or pictures on them. They can be very elaborate if you want, or very simple. If someone was really crafty I'm sure they could do something really cool. Heck, you can add some lace and beads and make it pretty. Or you can make one with hidden Mickey's on it. It would all be up to the person who is creating it.
Wow. Sounds really nice. I'm not very creative, but if that's what everyone wants, I'm certainly game! :)

:bday:

Hope you are having a great one Beth!
Thanks. It's been low key, we ordered Mexican food, the kids made presents and cards.
I already told Ruben I didn't want anything since we'd just been at Disney for a week. And he's going to renew my AP. That's all I need. :wizard:

Wendy and I were talking about the movie ...The Others... i loved that movie. It was so well done.

I guess that is more suspense. Those are the kind i can do.
Was The Others with Nicole Kidman? If so, I've seen that. It's been awhile though. I should rent it again.

We should plan a lunch or something. I'd be up for that. :thumbsup2

Mexican food sounds like a great birthday dinner to me!

Stacerita: I'm up for an exchange!

It's been a really long day--I'm going to bed . . . . talk to everyone tomorrow!

I have to go over to DLR tomorrow to exchange a pass voucher for WDW! It's going to be sooooo hard to go over there and not go in the parks--but I won't have time :sad1:

Let me know when this is. If I'm free, then I am totally in.

You don't have to be creative. I'm not. Just have fun with it.

If we did a meet here in Vegas, when would we do it? Before the ladies trip? After? How far after?

The Lion King isn't set to open here until May 2009. So it's still a while off. And once it does open, I'm guessing the tickets will be hard to get and expensive. I just hope they aren't too bad. For Celine Dion, people were paying over $200 bucks! I hope it's not that high.

I won't be paying over $200 bucks. I can promise you that. Thats just crazy!

I would say after the trip. Early Summer before it gets miseablely hot. Without looking at a calendar I'd say begining of June.

I bet tickets would be hard to get. Maybe it we did a Sunday matinee or a midweek show. Might be harder for everyone to get time though. But that is an easier way to get tickets. Or we could just get lucky.

When Mama Mia first went out to Vegas, I was there for a bachelorette party. The bride to be wanted to go. So we called up and got tickets for 11 of us. It was really cheap, and we ended up in the second row. You never know.

That's true, you never know. And maybe some of us locals can keep our eyes and ears open for any pre-sales or specials.

Lion King or not, I'd be totally up for a meet in June! I can keep an eye out for other local specials on hotels and shows. When another DISer friend of mine came out last I was able to use my Nevada ID to get her half price tickets to KA.

I hope we can get a few interested. I think it would be a blast. And I don't want to wait a whole year after the March trip for another meet. :rotfl:

I agree, waiting a whole other year for another meet would be too long.

The only thing I would say is to make sure your dog wears the stupid cone collar thing for a few days. Mine had it on, and it's kinda funny watching them walk around and run into walls (j/k!) but we took it off too early and he chewed so much we had to take him back in and get him cleaned up and on antibiotics and he didn't get to take that collar off for another 2 weeks! Too bad they don't understand that!! :confused3

Oh, yes we are making sure of it but I feel bad for her because her head is always down and she gets stuck.

Cristabel - sure, you can room with whom ever you want. Its not like we swore in blood or anything. Now I won't have to make anyone sleep on the floor. It works out.

With my luck now that I'm "free" no one will need a roommate. So get that floor nice and ready for me just in case I have no takers:lmao:

Hi girls. It's been a loooooong day.

We dropped off Osita to get spayed and we went to eat breakfast at La Brea Bakery in downtown Disney. Then we drove around, checked the fullerton disney character warehouse and visited my dad's friend. I had work tonight 5:30-10pm. And I realized on the way home that I forgot my purse (containing my wallet, disneyland AP, etc) at La Brea Bakery!

I called them and they are holding it for me. PHEW! I'll probably go get it tomorrow.

Oh and I'm sick again and I feel like crap:sad1:

in happy news

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!:wizard:

You guys were busy little beavers while I was away last night. We had our World Thinking day for Girl Scouts last night and it was actually kind of boring. Not NEARLY as good as the one we had a few years back but the kids seemed to have fun. Our country was China but the game our leader picked was BORING!!! So none of the kids really stayed very long but whatever. Then last night was dsd's first day at her new job at Mickey D's and they ARE having her work today but told her to be there at noon but didn't tell her when she is getting off. ???? I don't get THAT! I have never heard of a job when they don't tell you when you are getting off. She doesn't have a cell phone and that is one of the first things she was going to get when she gets a few paychecks. All I can say is I hope they have a phone there she can use cuz you can't FIND a payphone anymore. I don't even think they exist!

Today we have our big soccer tournament and so it is off at the crack of dawn this morning for our first game. I am already up and I have had a WICKED cold the last 3 weeks so I feel like crapola but what else is new. This is our first year we have done a tournament so I don't know how the girls are going to fair with this so it shall be interesting. They say they are going to try and make it fun so we shall see. They are going to decorate their hair and wear silly hair bands and stuff. They want all the teams to dress up and stuff. I will make sure and take some pics. I will have to post a pic from last nights event and today. Then they of course of the obligatory vendors to try and suck money out of us sucker parents. All KINDS Of crap that will be sure to entice the kids to get mom and dad to shell out the bucks! But luckily our next game is not till 1:30 and even though it is all the way across town dh has said we are going back home! So that is good otherwise I think we would be broke! ;)

And then the fun starts all over again tomorrow! :) Lucky me! We have two MORE games tomorrow! And SOMETIME this weekend we need to buy our pumpkins to carve since this is the last weekend before halloween.

Wish me luck that I make it through the weekend!!

And as far as the exchange...I don't know, sounds great and all but you are back to making stuff agaaaiaiaiaian wahhhhh. I am SOOOOO not creative. I can't make my way out of a paper bag.

I love the idea of an exchange but I can't sew a button on my shirt. You guys are killing me. All you martha stewarts and I am Martha CLOD! I like stuff I can BUY! (hint hint)

But ANYWAY Beth sounds like you had a great B day and the Vegas thing sounds awesome but probably WAY too soon for me. With my baby's birthday trip in April I will probably be tapped out plus we have swim team full on in summer. So probably have to do it some other time. Maybe if you do a Vegas Part 2! I DEF want to come sometime though cuz I have been talking about it for YEARS. I have GOT to get back there and NOT fall down this time! Can you believe they actually thought I had been drinking? Sheesh! I didn't even have a chance yet! I mean REALLY!

Anyway next...

Okay, for exchanges....I love the idea, but how 'bout tote bags? I'd so use that alot more than pillow cases. You can easily get creative, and won't have to worry about people having to sleep on it. Plus, may be useful for those who buy too much while they're at DLR! :rolleyes1

I'm all in for a Vegas trip. June sounds great. The last two weekends would work for me. Ethan will have middle school grad festivities the couple of weekends before that. I like that time of year, as it's nice and warm! I like staying at the Tropicana, rooms are inexpensive and the pool area is great. Fruity drinks, cabana boys and a swim up casino! All in all, my idea of fun! But, I'm open to ideas. Totally. I saw Lion King when it premiered in Minneapolis before going to NYC. For some reason Disney did that with all of their shows for awhile. Got to see Beauty and the Beast that way, too. With all of the Broadway cast and everything. I'd love to see it again, though. There's a bunch of shows I'd love to see. And, now that I'm working, hopefully I'll be okay to actually purchase a few tickets.

Tote bags are cute. i like that idea.

Hey, when one of my best friends had her birthday in Vegas.. we planned special things for each day/night there.

One day we did a scavenger hunt.. it was so much fun.

:wizard: A savenger hunt at Disneyland might be Lots of fun.:wizard:

**very glad Cristabel's purse was found and put away*

Hi all

I'm in for either exchange, pillow case or tote bag. I love the idea of going to Vegas next year.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I'd be up for that! We should plan a lunch near the Disney outlet!! Any excuse to pop in there works for me..lol.

Not even! No one will be rooming alone. Well, unless they want too of course. LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!:wizard:
Thanks! I'm so glad they still had your wallet! Whew! Close one. I hope you feel better soon.

But ANYWAY Beth sounds like you had a great B day and the Vegas thing sounds awesome but probably WAY too soon for me.
Oh come on! Look at how much time you have to figure it out and make it work. You know you wanna...... ;)

Nice and warm???? The last two weekends in June should already be in the 100's. I'd say that's nice and HOT. LOL
But no biggie. That's why everything is air conditioned. :thumbsup2

When was the last time you were at Tropicana? It's had some bad press since we've moved here. Bed bugs for one thing. And reports of lots of prostitution. Honestly, I'd stay somewhere further down, mid Strip. Maybe Mirage or Paris. Even TI.

Oooooh, this would be so fun!!!!! I hope we can pull this off. :yay:  :woohoo:

:wizard: A savenger hunt at Disneyland might be Lots of fun.:wizard:
Sooooooo, are you offering to put one together? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I'll have to check out that link. I can't think how you'd do one at DL.

Hi all

Hi Steph! Are you recovered from your busy week here? I hope so!

Count me in also! Who knows, with the economy the tickets may not be as hard to get. We have discounts at the hospital also, but they sometimes cap the quantity you can get. I'll keep my eyes open.

As for midweek, that would definitely be a way to increase chances of tickets and rooms would be dramatically cheaper. Rooms here can be double or triple on Fri/Sat. I'd take a day or two off for a meet!!

Amy

Amy
:yay: Yes, yes, yes we should!!! What's near there? Wait, are you talking about the one at the beginning of the Strip? I don't know street names but it's not in a mall or anything. It's a corner shop?
