Thank goodness for those necklaces, it's the only way I was able to keep track of the group. It got confusing when I would see other people with those necklaces on that weren't a part of the 5:30 group.

It was a fun tour. I really enjoyed the part in front of Big Thunder Ranch, our second tour guide was hilarious! :rotfl:

You should have embarrassed your son and come said hi to all us crazies!

Hi everyone! Queen Billabong--sorry we missed you. Would have been fun to meet you. I apparently screwed up on where we were supposed to meet for the tour (twice!) and consequently we were late and they put us on the later tour--otherwise we would have been with you--DARN!!!!!

I enjoyed the tour for the most part, but it was tough with the crowds--and I was on an ECV so that made it worse (thanks to everyone who helped herd traffic). I did think that the second tour guide was better too--I've broken them down into "Goofy Girl" (not so good) and "Spooky Girl"--much better!

Wendy--loved meeting you and we'll see you in March! (hmmmm--maybe we should do a "monkey" shirt?)

P.S.: Wendy-are those NEW TAGS????????

P.P.S.: the highlight of the trip (well, other than seeing everyone) was stalking the Dream Squad/Team. What FUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try and get that one past Beth! :rotfl2:

I think it's so funny that it took us three tries to finally find the right place! Spooky girl was the bestest ever!

P.S.: Wendy-are those NEW TAGS????????

Stop looking at my tags, perv! :rotfl:

Bwahahahaha--have to remember to look for her next time.

Is she in the WDW one?

I don't think so. I wanna say she only shows up when they do the overlay. :confused3 I could be wrong though (wouldn't be the first time!).

Hi everyone. I meant to post last night when I got back from the mini meet, but I was so tired. Heck, I just got out of bed a bit ago. Well, that was in part thanks to some great meds the doc gives me. Anywho.....we had a great time last night. I was lucky enough to sit with Mel and Wendy. Those two were so nice and we had a blast. I'm trying to get my pics posted, hopefully I will get that done in a few.

You and your mom were a blast! Even though it was cold and that rude CM was snotty about us being cold, I had a great time! Your mom should join all of us crazies on the girl's trip. :rotfl:

Myself Mel and Wendy (not old)

Score! The disguise worked!

Wendy and Mel sat with us and they got bingets. They looked good. If I go back, I will definately get some of those. Over all we had a great time.

Sorry I didn't offer you one, but once you try them you'll know why I was so wrapped up in them that I forgot my manners. :rotfl2:
Now if only they would deep fry the grapes and put powdered sugar on them! ;)

HI Everyone!!

A quick check in!!

I had such a nice time Friday night. Wendy, (really 23 years old) Stacie and her mom Christy were so nice, and it was fun sitting at their table. I thought it was just plain nice to be there, and meet everyone again. And to meet new faces too!!!

I thought DL was busier than it was in April for our last meet. What about the rest of you?

Oh, and Stacie...........the picture of me outside looks like I'm mad. I really wasn't. And Callie looks like she has a cigarette hanging out of her mouth!!:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: Sorry Callie..........................but it does kind of look like that.:rolleyes1 Oh and would you guys believe that she, and some of the ladies got Dream Passes again on Saturday. And how they got them was some big time planning on their parts!!!

The Halloween party was alot of fun.......................but my 2 grandsons fell asleep way too soon. :sad1: They missed so much to do. I wish they could start it sooner, but I understand how it would be hard to do. I loved seeing all of the cute costumes.

Well I'm kind of tired.

Hope everyone made it home safe and sound! :grouphug:

Auntie Mel! I'm so happy we got to share all that yummy food! There's no way I would have been able to eat that by myself and I really wanted to try all of it! Thank you so much for everything!

I agree, Callie should take her cigarette to her favorite designated smoking place in DCA. ;)

Wendy joined us for the rest of the day on Saturday as we mostly hung out in DCA cause DL was just too packed. Wendy, I really enjoyed spending time with you and glad you felt comfortable enough to hang around with us crazies!

Hanging out with you all on Saturday was SO much fun! I got to do things I've never done before!

I can't wait for March!

I just wanted to chime in here, and say what a nice time I had seeing you guys. I really enjoyed our dinner conversation. :) At the same time, I wish I could have gone from table to table so I could talk to everyone.

There were people I recognized, new friends to meet, and more that I wish I had been able to meet.

Thanks for the pics Stacerita - they are a nice memento to a nice dinner. :)

I'm happy I got to meet the famous Mary Jo! :cheer2: I'm glad I was able to make it over to your table (after everyone else ditched me).

Wait--you're not mentioning how excited you were to ride the Mark Twain twice in one day??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

BTW - we saw your group at Cafe Orleans on Friday (we had dinner there at 5:50) but my son said he would just die if I went over and said hi, so I thought I better not kill him at the beginning of the trip....... Many more opportunities to embarass him later!
Oh, you should have come on over!!! We'd have loved it.

Wendy, these are for you... since we didn't get any on Saturday night :(

IMG_0944.jpg

I found the ingredients for them on micechat, that is supposedly straight from the Cafe Orleans Kitchen:

Cafe Orleans Pommes Frites

1 portion fried potatoes
1/2 oz Grana Padano (this is a cheese, closest common equivalent is Parmesan)
1 tsp chopped garlic
1/2 oz chopped parsley
.001 oz Cajun spices

The Cajun spices consist of: cayenne, paprika, salt, white pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, whole oregano, sugar, thyme, and rice flour; someone said they did 1 tsp. of salt and 1/2 tsp. of the other spices put them in a shaker.

Here's a recipe I found that tells how to cook the fried potatoes:

Large Russet Potatoes (about 2 per person)
Peanut Oil preferably, or Vegetable Oil alternatively (3 inch depth in a large saucepan)

Cut the Potatoes, skin on, into 1/4" thick strips, a Mandolin will save you a hell of a lot of time, Not to mention, conformity of size = even cooking! I cut mine by hand, because I don't have a Mandolin at home. Cut the potatoes in half, then in half again, then starting on the flat side, in 1/4 " slices. Stack the slices and cut into Fries. Discard any misshapen, would be Fries. Cover these in cold water. Change the water at least three times, or until the water is clear, then soak for about 1 hour.

First Frying:

The first frying is basically to cook the potatoes through. If you've ever tried to make Pommes Frites by skipping this step, you now know the necessity of the first frying. Heat the oil to 320 degrees F. Drain, then dry the Frites with paper towels, I also put mine through a salad spinner. Water will break down your frying oil (as will salt). When the oil is hot and the Frites are dry, drop them in batches, DO NOT over crowd! Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until they're cooked through, but NOT Browned. Remove to a paper towel lined plate. Reserve the oil. You can do these a few hours ahead, leave them, as is, at room temperature.

Second Frying:

Heat the oil to 365-375 degrees F. When you're ready to serve the Frites, drop them in batches, as in the First Frying. Fry until they're a nice Golden Brown and Crispy! Remove onto a plate or baking sheet lined with dry Paper Towels. < Here's where I would add the Cafe Orleans part of the recipe. >

Let me know if you try them.

Now I'm trying to find the recipe for the Pumpkin Fudge, any ideas on where I can find it?

Ok, so things aren't looking good for my friend Stephanie. We planned on going to Disneyland this Wednesday and to MTOTP that night. Right now she isn't feeling so hot (a case of the flu?) and might not be able to make it. I will still be going but I was wondering, if Steph doesn't go, is anyone going to be there next Wed or Friday (my dog is having surgery in Garden Grove so I thought I'd head over to DL)?

Thought maybe we could meet up.

Ask ChaCha? :confused3

Are you kidding me?!? :rotfl2: That's Allyson's new favorite saying, although she was saying Are you crapping me? for awhile, which I put a stop to!

It's not that I can't find a recipe, but I would really like the Disney (Marceline's) recipe. And I'm a better searcher than most of the people on ChaCha. If I could pick who would answer it on ChaCha, I'd pick you or Callie or Christine, just because you would know how important it is!!

Hey, didn't mean to ditch ya. I did invite you to join us. And don't worry about offering up any bingets. I'm on WW and I'm sure a bite of those would have sent me over the top. I did so bad as it was. I'm gonna try them next time though and skip the salad.

We had a great time at the table with you guys too. And mom can't join us in March. I already hit her up to watch my DD for me.

I just realized something today, your mom's name is Christy (short for Christine??) and my DD is Christine! Weird!!

Wait--you're not mentioning how excited you were to ride the Mark Twain twice in one day??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I almost made it around for a third time! I was also excited to do pirates again. I love how you all chose the only two rides I had already been on. :rotfl2:

Those look SO yummy! I tried to find some on Sunday, but I didn't want to wait in line for them.

I also looked all over for the pumpkin fudge too and nowhere had it. I guess they did fill their quota!

I know you didn't really ditch me, 'cause you abonded me...there is a difference. ;)
:rotfl:

I guess my short term memory is at work again, because you told me your mom would be watching your DD. I guess I was too busy with my beignets.

I went to Marceline's for some pumpkin fudge and they told me they were out, so I ended up with a cupcake instead. Oh well. It's was good too. :)

The horror. Ending up with a cupcake? No fudge? This is all too much for me. I may have to end it all. For the love of all that is holy and pure, please let there be fudge when I want there to be fudge. Heaven knows that a cupcake just won't do. Oh wait, I love cupcakes too. Nevermind. Carryon.

I'm eating a Apple Pie Caramel Apple from Pooh's Corner right now. I bought it before I left yesterday. It is SO yummy!
