Wendy!

I saw the Mariokart Wii in today's Target ad! Check it out!

Have a good Sunday everyone! Try to stay cool. It's going to be around 108 or 109 today and I've got to run out and do some errands. This should be fun.

Hi Ladies! How's everyone doing this Sunday afternoon?
I'm taking my practice exam before heading over to Pierce college to take my real test for Chp. 1-2 in my math class. So far it's going well, my lessons are on CD with an ACTUAL person teaching!

Wish me luck!

Oh and I'm going to see Wall-E tonight! I'm so excited!

If Wall-e is as good as everyone says it is, I can see it as a ride in DCA:goodvibes

You have to tell if it is any good. My kiddos are bugging me to go see it.

I have just been sewing up a storm. I completely took over the dining room, so we have been picnicing the last 2 days. I finally finished Fearless Fourteen!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Wall-e was awesome! It was so cute and had a good message for society, it was really great! I agree with another poster (Idk if it was on the DIS) but the short cartoon before is SO funny.

GO SEE IT!:thumbsup2

I mean, the CRITICS gave it an A as well as the users (yahoo).

I saw it too! I got all excited because they showed the Wii Fit too. I started calling around and they all said they didn't have them in stock. :sad2:

I agree, Wall-e was such a great movie! I laughed SO hard through pretty much the whole thing. I also agree that the short movie before was freaking hilarious! ::yes::

Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday! ...I'm wishing it was Friday. :rotfl:

Yep, I've tried every .com.

I've accepted that the world is against me this month. Hopefully July will be better and the world will get off my back and leave me alone. ::yes::

Hi there, so did you end up seeing Wall-E? :) It is good, so if not, then you should take them. :thumbsup2

Aw, that sucks. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with this. I know it's frustrating.

How's everyone's day so far? During the summer the days all sort of run together for me. I had to remind myself it was Monday.

Ruben is off today but we aren't doing a darn thing. It's too hot! 111. Ugh. I'm beginning to think moving here was a mistake. There is nothing to do in the summer. It's just too hot to be playing outside, and we don't have a pool.

Summer here is like winter in Michigan, you just don't go outside. But the problem is the kids are home and bored all day long. At least in Michigan during the winter they are in school. By the time they get home from school, do homework, eat dinner, take a bath and watch a little tv, it's bed time. So it doesn't seem so bad.

But here I feel like summer is wasting away and there's nothing to do.

Oh well. Right now the girls are playing at the neighbors house. And Adam has a new video game keeping him busy. So for now all is peaceful and quiet.

But I'm bored......:rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Look out girls! When Beth gets bored we get pics of her favourite shoes and costumes for Halloween. And the odd suggestion of both for her girls on this thread:rolleyes1

Hi All!!!! I've been reading but nothing to post about. I've got the day off tomorrow. :cool1: It's Canada Day. That's the Canadian version of July 4th for those that don't know.

Stay cool, happy, healthy and safe.

I don't know what you're talking about. :confused3 :rolleyes1
But since you mentioned it..... I was looking at the great photopass pics the other day and saw you in your cowboy hat. So for some reason I thought of you when I saw this:

Just think how much shade that hat would offer on a hot day! :thumbsup2

Happy Canada Day! (early but still)

Try Radio Shack. I have a friend that went to one in Maryland and they didn't have any in stock but they ordered her one and even arranged to have it shipped to her home. HTH

Just checking in. DH FINALLY found our extra power cord for the computer, so we're back up and running for good! Whoo hoo. You don't know how dependent you are on the computer until you don't have it!!

Lots going on here. Friends left. My mom moved to Tucson and we went to visit her this weekend. All I can say is HOT! Zoe had walking pneumonia and Ethan was diagnosed with Scheuermann’s back disease (think scoliosis, but you get a hunch back instead of an s-curved back). We have an appt. on Wednesday with a pediatric ortho, but doesn't look good. The "easy" version sounds like a back brace for hours a day for a few years! I feel so bad. My poor boy....everything always happens to him. And, WSM (affectionately my "wicked step mother") did a bunch of research and instead of the "oh poor ethan" that I wanted and expected, I got the "well, look on the bright side, it's not life threatening." Which, yes it is, but it's a back brace for years at a time. At a really difficult social time in his life anyway! Grrr. I'm waiting to really talk about the details with him until after we see the ortho. and find out what kinds of options we have and how this will impact him and how quickly. For those who pray, please send one up for my Ethie, please.

I haven't had a chance to read and catch up. I will do that over the next few days. I'd LOVE LOVE to meet up sometime this month with a couple of Disers without children for some quality girl time....anyone up for it? I'm fairly open to dates/times, as I have a premium pass.

Absolutely prayers for your son--is it the 11 or 13 year old?

I can't necessarily schedule "girl time" at this point, but my college roommate, her husband and their daughter are coming next week and we're planning a Disneyland trip on the 10th--our other sorority sister and her husband may come too (up from San Diego area). I'm thinking of bringing along my other friend's 11 year old daughter to keep the 10 year old company. My Mom is thinking about going--but if it's hot she won't! You're welcome to tag along--whether with or without your kids! We're a fun group--promise. My college roommie and her husband live in the United Arab Emirates where they both teach English at the university. My other sorority sister works for a biomed firm doing FDA submittals (she's also an attorney, so that comes in handy, but she started doing this type of work before she went to law school). Her husband is a banker who also owns a race car equipment shop (they both race cars on weekends--go figure).

So, let me know--but I will completely understand if that doesn't sound like fun to you! LOL

Maybe a group can get together later in the month? It's probably going to be hard for me to get away for another whole day--but I might be able to sneak away for part of an afternoon and evening if someone wants to meet.

HI Michelle,
I'm so sorry to hear that news about Ethan! Poor guy. How old is he again? A back brace for a few hours a day for years most definitely does not sound like fun for any kid. :guilty:
I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers and hope that maybe the ortho will be able to shed a different light on things. Let us know what he says.

Oh, and I'd love to meet up with you if I could. Unfortunately with gas being so high and the weather across the desert being so hot, I don't think we are planning any trips to DL until the Fall. Which makes me sad because you sound like you could use a break, and I have a premium pass as well and am really missing DL!!
But hopefully some of the others will be able to get together.

Hi Michelle,
I have an 11 year old that is hard of hearing as a result of Large Vestibular Aqueducts, which has meant more doctors appointments than usual, ear surgery, limited activities etc. Always a lot for a kiddo to deal with. One thing that does make it bearable is the opportunity to have some of the appointments during the school day. That makes it not quite so bad. Maybe your son can have some extra "skip" time;)
Anyhow, prayers going your way. It is always so difficult to see our kids suffer.

Tracey

Just a quick post ... Beth, I so know how you feel about the weather, as I'm sure Callie does!! It SUCKS!!! But, right now, I'm not in AZ, I'm in northern Michigan (not UP, only LP; only the Michiganders will get that), and it's 9:45am and about 60 degrees, may get up to 80 by this afternoon! I even have the furnace on!!!! We'll be here for the week, then down to lower LP, for the next week. Then back to AZ on the 13th, I'm sure the heat will feel even hotter to me by then!!!

I actually can't believe that we have high-speed internet here, and our cell phones work!! That was not the case last time I was here, but then, that was a few years ago.

Hoping everyone has a good week, not sure how often I'll get the check the board this week. See ya!!!

Michelle, I'm so sorry to hear about Ethan's diagnosis. I hope you are both able to work with the therapists to get a comfortable plan for him. My prayers are with him and you as you both deal with all the dr. appts and therapies.

Beth, I hear ya on the heat. It finally hit me on Sunday -- my Summer depression is in full swing. I'm sure it's the same kind of seasonal depression that other people face in the winter-time. In May and June I was waking up at 5 am and going outside to water and garden so at least I felt like I was getting about an hour of nice temps (below 80 degrees -- coolness in the air). But on Sunday I slept in and stepped outside at 6 am and it was HOT! it was almost 90 degrees, so I went back inside and went back to bed. I wish I could just stay in bed until November!!! :sad1: I won't be feeling that coolness outside until at least October. My kids are used to it and we are fortunate to have a neighbor across the street who has opened her pool to us to use anytime we want. So we swim daily. I'm trying to concentrate on all the good things and blessings we have, but this summer funk is strong and really hard to shake off. Wow, that was long-winded!

Stacie - have fun in the UP or LP or wherever you are. Does UP mean upper peninsula and LP mean lower peninsula? Just a guess. I thought of you yesterday as you were traveling. Glad to hear you made it to the cool. Enjoy your time away. How's Christine feeling?

Ok, gotta get these kids to swim team and the dog to the groomer. Later taters!

Callie
