OK - I am going to try to ease my boys into the idea of me going to Disneyland without them (OK - my son is not too thrilled with the idea!) My husband would be fine - he has been to Disneyland by himself. OK - it was for a conference and he never actually went to Disneyland (stayed at the DL Hotel!) - but that's not my fault! I would LOVE to go without worrying about keeping someone else happy - plus it's just after my birthday and I can't think of a better way to spend it!

I've never been on a trip by myself - and I am a TERRIBLE flyer! That would be my one big concern - other than having to shake my son (who is much taller than me now) off my leg in order to go without him!

If I can prevent a mutiny at home and if I can suck it up and get brave enough to fly all by my lonesome (I know - I am a big baby!), then I would like to join you all. If I make it, I would definitely be interested in the VIP tour - sounds like a blast!

Hey ladies! Sorry I have been MIA but life has been more than crazy. :dance3: I am done with teaching for this year and now can enjoy a little break! :cool1: Sadly I am dealing with my dad who's health has declined quickly (diabetic, cardiac pt) who is out of the hospital with my mom but will most likely need a nursing home soon! :( So I am savoring a moment of Dis life to remind me that I do have a happy place! ;) I hope you all are well and I will get my name added to the 09 trip and this year I will leave the family! :hyper: (well for the trip I mean)

So far I think this is where we stand for Saturday. There's still a few we haven't heard from, so I'm not sure when they'll be there or what their plans are.

Mommau4/Beth: arriving around 4

toocherie/Cheryl: arriving early in the day

Califgirl/Chris:

Zoemakes5/Michelle:

MamaKate/Katie:

castleeto/Shelly: haven't heard from her for awhile

daisy_77/January and her DD: there all day

bsbllmom/Cheryl: arriving around 6

Mary Jo/Mary Jo:

If I'm able to come, I plan to pretty much be there all day. More likely than not without Zoe, as she has a birthday. However, I won't know for sure whether I'll be able to come until after Riley's semi finals on Thursday night. If he wins, I won't be able to come. Long story short, I missed Riley's finals (which he won) last year. Can't do it two years in a row.

Good Tuesday Morning, Ladies!!! Looks like the mini-meet will be awesome for all those attending!!! :woohoo:

Beautiful day here today in the Northeast!!!! :sunny:

I'm really trying to get the mini quest written. My brain is just not coming up with anything clever, though I have lots of 'clues'. I just can't decide what the puzzles should be. I'm thinking we could meet up around 4 for the mini quest. It should take maybe 2 hours, and that will leave us some time before we meet up for dinner at Trattoria. (And yes, of course there are prizes! :goodvibes ) Remember TEAMS are good - 2 or 3 people per team. Kids are welcome, but let me know, so I can tailor the quests if we have kids participating.

Nothing is written in stone, so I'm flexible. Any of you MA veterans have any clever puzzle ideas???

I can't help you with ideas, but I'll probably bringing DD with me on Saturday and I think she'll enjoy doing this :thumbsup2 .

Beth~ I'm not 100% sure when I'll be arriving, probably around noon??

Wendy I am sorry to hear about your accident. That really blows! That is cool you get to go to the Toy story preview though! I am going through MAJOR withdrawals listening to all you guys with upcoming trips. This is seriously THE longest I have gone in between ANY Disney trips and esp DisneyLAND trips. It will be 13 months by the time I go on the girls trip since I have been to Disneyland. ACK! I can't even remember going that long. It has been YEARS. I got really spoiled having AP's the last two years :(

It still hasn't really hit me that my AP's are expiring in a few weeks. And what's worse is we bought DH's and DSD's at seperate times so their's don't expire till Nov! But it's all good. I have a little less than 6 months till DW but I know from the last two times I went that when you go as much as I LOVE it there it is just NOT Disneyland and I ALWAYS miss stuff from Disneyland esp when I am at the Magic Kingdom. Like Indy, Matterhorn etc.

But that is ok. It will make me THAT much more anxious for our girls trip when I get back :)

I am really excited and think we will have a blast! And the good news is I plan to use my NEXT years tax refund for the trip and as long as things don't go completely MAD hopefully I will get something similar to THIS years so I shouldn't have a problem and hopefully I won't have as big of a credit card balance to pay off so I will have more money to play with for the girls trip and for my trip in April! ;)

:rotfl2: Well, they must really be cracking down then. Which might be a good thing. It seemed like it was getting really wild. Not that I'd know first hand. Just what I heard. ;)

Do you guys own a boat or jet ski?
We have a Sea Doo but we rarely take it out anymore. We used to go camping right on Lake Buena Vista in CA and spend several days just playing out on the water. Not sure why we don't anymore.

We have a boat, but after last weekend DBF says we're selling it and getting a newer/bigger one! :rotfl: We like to wakeboard and the boat we have now just has a ski pole and DBF wants a boat with a tower and speakers on it. We went boat shopping a few days ago and the ones we liked were $60,000!:scared1: I think we will be going with a used slightly (really) older one.:rotfl:

LOL, I remember going once when I was younger, probably junior high, with my parents. And they never been there before either. Well we went during the summer and we stayed for about 20 minutes, and my parents were like "Okay! that's enough!!" There were so many drunk half naked college kids.. You should have seen the look on my parent's faces.. lol. :rotfl:

There were still a ton of half naked drunk people, just not fully naked drunk people.:rotfl2:

You ladies keep this thread hoping! I am reading along, I swear! I am really uncomfortable tonight. Contractions, cramps, general ickiness. I am so over being pregnant. I decided I needed to think happy thoughts, so I came to the DIS boards!

I am so excited for March, and so jealous of those of you who get to go this weekend! Have a blast!
Hi, good to see you. Sorry for all the discomfort you're going through now. Are you getting the nesting instinct yet? LOL
I went nuts toward the end of all mine trying to get everything cleaned and organized. Come to think of it, it hasn't stopped. I am still trying to keep things clean and organized thanks to my kids!! :rotfl:

I hope you start to feel better. And the last few weeks/days go smoothly and quickly! ;)

Very mixed emotions--I want Riley's team to win for his sake . . . but also want them to lose for OUR sake!

Hey there! We'd love to have you join us!

I am a terrible flyer too. When I went on the WDW ladies only trip, I cried on the way to the airport! One, because I'd never gone away by myself and was so nervous, and two, I detest flying. But I did it.
Let's face it, flying is never the fun part, but I am so glad I did it. I had a great time and made so many great friends. One of them is now going to be my roomie for this trip! :yay:

I can understand about your son too. I had four kids to leave behind! But I managed to convince them that my trip alone would be nothing like the trips we take together. I told them we'd be shopping, going out to eat, all kinds of boring stuff. :rolleyes1 Well, it worked. :rotfl:

Anyway, if you decide you'll be able to join us that would be great. I hope it works out for you.

I was wondering where you'd disappeared to. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. That's never easy. :(
I'm glad you were able to come here and escape for a little while anyway. So does this mean you are in for sure in '09? :)

Well, I want the team to do good, but we want you there! I understand that you can't miss the finals if they make it though.

OK, I'll put you down for around then. Yay, we'll get to meet your DD. :)

I'm sorry about your APs. I'll be in that boat in October. :( But 6 months is going to go by quick and then you'll be in Disneyworld! And then just think, a few short months later, you'll be in Disneyland. That's pretty cool!

$60,000?!?!?!? :faint: And that is why I will never own a new boat. :lmao:

That must be the bright sun that woke me up this morning. ;) It's gonna be a warm one here today; 97 with a Real Feel of 99.

Like I said, I won't be there until much later on, but hopefully those of you who are there earlier will be able to meet up and have some fun! And I will see you all around 4. :thumbsup2

Inspiration has hit, and I think the quests should be done with no problem for the mini meet! :thumbsup2

I figure we can meet up for the quests around 4 or 4:30 so Beth can come play. MamaKate, I'm so glad you're coming and bringing your DD! How old is she? Teams should be two adult players, so kids add in with that. You can all figure out your teams now, or wait until Saturday. Adjustments can always be made.

Remember this is all just for fun (and prizes, but they're little) so try to leave the super competitive streak at home. (No running over other guests on the way to find your answers! ) You may have to ride an attraction, but I don't think any will have a height limit. It should take about 2 hours maximum. Awards at dinner at 7:20. How does that sound to everyone? I'm always open to changes!

Sounds like a ton of fun to me!

Thanks Chris for doing this!

My DD is 11 1/2 so no adjustments are needed for her.

I was catching up on the chats (back on page 47!) Wow, I miss a lot in one day away from the DIS. I was at Disneyland and DCA yesterday with my friends and we had a great time. We did DCA for the first part of the day and I survived Screamin! You don't even k

now how big of a deal it was because I'm deathly afraid of roller coasters. Well I decided to suck it up and do it, so I did! The loop was so much easier to deal with than the first big drop. :worship: I was praising the ground when I got off! LOL

Anyway, I woke up about 30 minutes ago and checked my email. I won a sneak peek preview of Toy Story Mania on June 10th! I really didn't think I would win but maybe being at DL/DCA the day before helped
;)
