A $1,000???? OMG. That sucks. I am so sorry.
How sweet of your mom to still want you to go in January.

I wouldn't want to move to Forks, even with as much as I love the rain. The book has made it too big of a tourist trap now. Not that I don't already live in a touristy place, lol, but Forks seems to little to have all those people trekking there.

And as for heat, we broke records this week. Monday and Tuesday we were in the 80's.

Lucky!

I can't wait to hear what you think of the movie!! popcorn::

I looked at the pics Cristabel posted and honestly I didn't notice any difference. It appears to have been painted, the boats look new, but not the ride. Guess I'm just not seeing it. I thought they were adding new things.
Al Lutz from Miceage, just had a new article out this week. He said, that people won't see a real difference yet in the dolls and background. Disney has everything prepped and ready to go, after the Christmas overlay is done. Then they will be putting in the new stuff.

Cool something else to look forward to in March!

Maybe Friday morning after PFF, we can get a group to head over there and go on it together. :cool1:

I don't see a difference either. Will have to check it out first hand this weekend.

I see. Well maybe when the holiday stuff is down and it's fully completed then we'll see more of a difference.

I agree it looks nicer with the fresh paint. I just thought that after an entire year of waiting, we'd see something more impressive. :rotfl:

Hopefully it is more than fresh paint.

Sounds good to me. But I will still check it out before then.

Did someone say "hidden monkey" !!!!!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Calm down chica.

I might come visit you sometime if you can promise me some rain!!

Come on up to Tacoma today. Right now. Grey grey grey all day with a constant drizzle!

Twilight is set in WA? Hilarious! Nowhere near as much fun as having it in New Orleans like Anne Rice did. Though Hollywood does like the state...Northern Exposure using, if not having it set in, Roslyn, Twin Peaks in Snoqualmie and North Bend. Tacoma was where they filmed Hand That Rocks The Cradle, 10 Things I Hate About You (but was set annoyingly in Seattle), I Love You To Death, and heck, we just recently went to the downtown post office only to find a film crew there (for a horrible sounding comedy called The Whole Truth).

So I guess it's not surprising to have a movie (and I assume book) filmed here, but it does always make me go "hmm"!

Hey, I've actually vacationed in Forks! We spent 2 nights at one of the 3 motels in town. We used it as our base camp and toured the rain forest and beaches all up and down the coast. I fell in LOVE! You're right, there's nothing there, and that's kind of what I like about it. I'd be happy just about anywhere on the peninsula though. Even sunny Sequim.

Don't you worry you'd get bored?

That was one of the things I hated about living in Traverse City. We only had one Target, and one Walmart so if they were out of something it was too bad for me.

Here if one Target is out of something I can drive 10 minutes and there is another one. LOL
I like that there is a Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Claim Jumper, Mimi's Cafe, Target, CVS, Kohl's, Walgreens, Vons, 2 Albertsons, Smiths, and so on and so on, all within a 5-7 minute drive from our house.

Then again, I also hate the crowds and traffic. So I guess I'd like someplace with cool temps, rain, lots of shopping and dining options close by as well as lots of scenic coastline, and no people around. Oh and cheap housing and gas prices and plenty of work.

Yeah. Can someone please find that for me? Thanks. :thumbsup2

Funny you should say that, one of the main areas we are looking to build our new house is near Forks, WA. Yes, I really hate the sun that much. :headache:

Ok the bathtub is calling my name. It's been a pretty rotten day for me so far. . .

hmmmmmm. Now we know why Callie didn't hang with us all of that one day and went back and took a "nap" and then came out again when the sun came down--she's really a vampire wanting to get "home" to Forks!!!!!!

Hey, tomorrow the trivia contest is over!! Did everyone get their answers turned in? I can't wait to see the results! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

Well, now you can add vampires to the list of loggers, fishermen, and inbreds. :rotfl2:

It is truly beautiful, no doubt, but I would rather camp there. Hope your evening went better and that calgon took you away!

I finally received my copies of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn today. I just finished Eclipse like 10 minutes ago and all I can say is awwww :sad1:

Now I'm starting breaking Dawn. I'm so jealous, right now my friend is in Hollywood sitting in the theater waiting for Twilight to start. BOO!

Edward said "monkey." I can only conclude that he loves me.

The movie was good, but not entirely true to the book, they left LOADS out. Which is understandable, but still. My heart went pitter patter for Edward, if I hadn't been so tired I would have been jumping up and down in my seat.

Now off to bed! I'm drained.

Well, I just spent my entire morning, when I should have been doing the dishes and cooking a decent breakfast for my kids, etc on my disboard signature. It was such a mess. Hope you like my new, orderly, centered version.

Have a great day!

Oh Man! It still won't all show up!! HELP!
