Well, I just spent my entire morning, when I should have been doing the dishes and cooking a decent breakfast for my kids, etc on my disboard signature. It was such a mess. Hope you like my new, orderly, centered version.

Have a great day!

Oh Man! It still won't all show up!! HELP!

It looks good. :thumbsup2 I had the same problem at first. My siggy was too long. I now just keep it down to one line only.

We had a discussion a while back about how peoples different monitor sizes show siggys differently. I have a widescreen monitor. Maybe the folks with a more 'square' monitor can see your whole siggy!

OK all, I need your help and opinions. (First hand experience would be great also! :thumbsup2 )

I have spent two hours online looking for GREAT Christmas presents for my almost 2 yo. I'm just not finding much. :sad2: He loves books, things that make music, and little things like blocks, clipos, etc. The problem is, I want something special for him. We really don't need anymore blocks, and have lots of books.

So, I thought I'd ask all of you about what you think of these things in case some of you have them or have seen them.

This looks like lots of fun. I just worry that my 11 month old will fall off of it and hurt himself. Am I worrying too much?

This looks like fun also. He's always interested in the big one at the doctor's office, but I never let him play with it. Since all the other kids playing are just as snotty and sick as he is.

I really like the idea of this. It's rated for a 3 year old, but my son really does LOVE books, and will sit and look at them for hours. He also loves things where he can push buttons and make sounds. I think he could handle the pen because he does great with a magnadoodle. My issue with it is that they are discontinuing it, so it makes me wonder if it's not as great as it looks.

Any other ideas? Help!!!! :thanks:

Heather, the Little Tikes toy looks like so much fun! I know that my 14 month old DS would love it and I would imagine that your boys would too!

Also, you mentioned that your older DS likes things that make music... Have you seen the new Little Tikes guitar and keyboard? They are so cute and I love the fact that instead of playing little kids songs they play things from the Police, B52s, Smashmoush, etc. And the guitar has actual string strings (as opposed to just molded plastic) and even has a whammy bar!

It's hot :headache:
I want to move to Forks, Washington :lmao:

But srsly, I hate the sun right now. Only in California (& Vegas & Arizona) will you start sweating while walking up a hill IN NOVEMBER.

I want to move to Forks, well if it was worth moving to...
Western WA has all the rain...Eastern WA is HOT & sunny in the summer, right now rainy...close to having snow. I love rainy days..but about Feb. I am ready for the sun, heat & warm weather.

OK, You all are killing me! I have not read the books. I am tempted, but afraid I will get addicted. But, I was raised in Port Angeles, WA, which is several hours due east from Forks. The only think we ever thought was out in Forks was loggers, and fishermen and a bunch of inbreds. So all the hoopla is pretty darn funny. My Mom still lives there, and she says the local Italian Restaurant which some place in the book is based on, is serving a special dinner, and that they are selling custom fangs and having all sorts of events for the big opening. There is no Disney Store in Forks, I can tell you that!! Well, hope the movie is all that you are dreaming it will be. Feel free to come up an visit anytime. It is almost always raining.

I love the books!! My friends and I are going on a tour of Forks.

Well, now you can add vampires to the list of loggers, fishermen, and inbreds. :rotfl2:

I might come visit you sometime if you can promise me some rain!!

:lmao:

only if we all agree to go in one boat and sing along with "It's a Small World after all . . .. . "

That ride freaks me out :scared1:

But then again...clowns freak me out!!

Edward said "monkey." I can only conclude that he loves me.

The movie was good, but not entirely true to the book, they left LOADS out. Which is understandable, but still. My heart went pitter patter for Edward, if I hadn't been so tired I would have been jumping up and down in my seat.

Now off to bed! I'm drained.

I can't wait to see the movie tomorrow night.

Edward said "monkey." I can only conclude that he loves me.
:lmao: Yes, I'm certain that was his secret signal just for you. :rotfl:

Good Morning!!! I can't wait either! I think we might have some excited people around here when they see what I have to offer them!!! :goodvibes
Sooooo, when will the results be posted?? popcorn::

Oh Man! It still won't all show up!! HELP!
I can't see half of your Girl Only sign, and anything below it. But it might just be my little lap top screen.

OK all, I need your help and opinions. (First hand experience would be great also! :thumbsup2 )
All those toys look like so much fun!! I wanna be a kid again. LOL

I just realized it's been awhile since I've bought those sort of toys for my kids. My twins are 8 now and are already starting to get out of the toy thing. :sad2: And my older son wants cash for video games, and my DD just doesn't know what she wants. Grrrrr.

I like the first one with the slide. If I recall correctly, they are pretty small. I doubt he'd get hurt.

So one week from today is Black Friday!! Anyone planning to do any heavy duty shopping that day?

So is the movie anything a 12 year old could see?

I'd say yes. Lots of younger gals were there last night, my friend and I were almost the oldest people there. :rotfl:

The scene in the preview of Bella in her undies is very brief. Then again, I spent the whole time staring at Edward so I didn't notice much else.

True Story:

I read this and thought: "Beth must have forgot that I said until 10am Pacific." I then read another thread only to realize that it's 10:32am Pacific! :rotfl: I've completely lost track of the time.

I've been busy trying to burn the house down. After I made my DS's pancakes this AM, I thought I turned the burner off all the way. Well, I didn't. It was ever so slightly still left on. If a fly had landed on the dial, it would have clicked off. Well, knowing my luck, I set a styrofoam tray with frozen chicken on it to start thawing. The next thing I know, I smell plastic burning, and there is now plastic burned onto my burner! How the heck do I get that off!?!

Help!

OK, I'm off to PM the winners, and post the answers.

PM's have been sent to the winners. If you played, be sure to check your PM's!!! :woohoo:

You like me, you really like me! I'd like to thank Beth for making this trip happen, Callie for not being qualified to answer, Walt for his wonderful park and last but not least, Heather for her awesome questions! Watch out everyone, bus lady Wendy is on her way (in March)!

Here are the answers to the Trivia questions. I hope everyone finds them to be accurate. It ended up that only 4 people played, so how many they got right or wrong was irrevelent. I was hoping that more could play, so that more could join us (what did I mean by that!!!?!!! :rolleyes1 ). OH, well, I hope everyone enjoys reading though these questions and answers. I learned alot while researching good questions to ask. princess:

Heather's 20 Questions

1. What is the name of the Yeti in the Matterhorn? Harold
2. Who did Walt Disney "Kidnap" on the monorail? Then Vice-President Nixon. Walt invited him for the opening of the Monorail. They got on the train, and left the station. They realized that the secret service did not make it on. Walt had "kidnapped" Nixon. According to Disneyland Detecive, the book I read this in, when the train pulled back into the station, the secret service all jumped inside, not seeing that Walt and Nixon had gotten off. The doors closed, and the train went around again, while the SS couldn’t find Walt or Nixon.
3. Name the 2 Disney Animated films in which a group of 3 characters watch the happy ending from a balcony while one of them wipes away tears. Flora, Fauna & Meryweather in Sleeping Beauty Hugo, Victor & Laverne in Hunchback of Notre Dame
4. Everyone knew that the best rides and attractions were the “E” coupon attractions. In a 1974 book of 15 coupons, how many “E” coupons would a guest expect to find? 5
5. One thing that guests looked forward to was Disneyland's newest attraction, which had been added in early June of 1972. Word was that the attraction was absolutely spectacular. Which Disneyland attraction was introduced in June of 1972? Main Street Electrical Parade
6. How many bears were there in the Country Bear Jamboree? 19 (Rufus is in the projector room!)
7. What species of plant is the Tarzan Treehouse? From Wikipedia: The tree although fake is considered by Disney imagineers a real species or Disneyodendron eximus which translates to "out of the ordinary Disney tree". From allears.net: The tree has been designated as being of the rare species "Disneyodendron Semperflorens Grandis", which means "large, ever-blooming Disney tree". I will accept either answer.
8. How many Pirate ships in "Peter Pan's Flight" have red sails, with black skulls? (The majority are black sails with white skulls.) 2
9. Before entering the "Enchanted Tiki Room", you listen to the Tiki Gods and Goddesses in their Enchanted Garden; which god or goddess is the "Midnight Dancer"? Koro
10. Where in Disneyland can a person find a painting of Pirates of the Caribbean that has “Gilligan’s Island” hidden in it? Club 33
11. How many spots total were painted on the dogs in the movie “101 Dalmatians”? 6,469,952
12. True or False: Walt Disney owned Disneyland? False He was the creative genius behind the concept and had stock in the company, but he never owned a controlling share.
13. Which characters have 2 attractions in Toon Town? Chip and Dale-The treehouse and Gadget’s Go Coaster from Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers.
14. What shaped target gives you the highest points on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters? Triangle
15. How many dioramas were in the original Sleeping Beauty’s Castle Walkthrough? Ten
16. Where in Disneyland can you see a man dressed up like a woman? In front of the Golden Horseshoe
17. You are driving a bus to Disneyland carrying 5 children, 11 ladies and 10 men. The bus’s name is "trip-o-fun". Nobody has an orange shirt on, but there are 2 hats being worn. One person is standing up, 6 people are sleeping, and 2 children are reading Finding Nemo. What is the bus driver’s name? The name of the person responding to this quiz. It says “You are driving a bus to Disneyland.”
18. Disney math: Number of spotted dogs times the number of Donald’s nephews minus number of Snow White’s “little friends” times the number of “lands” in Disneyland equals? 247=101x3 – 7x8

Using the Order of Operations is very important when simplifying expressions and equations. The Order of Operations is a standard that defines the order in which you should simplify different operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This standard is critical to simplifying and solving different algebra problems. Without it, two different people may interpret an equation or expression in different ways and come up with different answers. The Order of Operations is shown below.
1. Parentheses and Brackets -- Simplify the inside of parentheses and brackets before you deal with the exponent (if any) of the set of parentheses or remove the parentheses.
2. Exponents -- Simplify the exponent of a number or of a set of parentheses before you multiply, divide, add, or subtract it.
3. Multiplication and Division -- Simplify multiplication and division in the order that they appear from left to right.
4. Addition and Subtraction -- Simplify addition and subtraction in the order that they appear from left to right.
Before we begin simplifying problems using the Order of Operations, let's examine how failure to use the Order of Operations can result in a wrong answer to a problem.
2 + 5 * 3
Without the Order of Operations one might decide to simplify the problem working left to right. He or she would add two and five to get seven, then multiply seven by 3 to get a final answer of 21. Another person might decide to make the problem a little easier by multiplying first. He or she would have first multiplied 5 by 3 to get 15 and then add 2 so his or her final answer would be 17. Without a standard like the Order of Operations, a problem can be interpreted many different ways.

19. The Conductors of Disneyland’s Railroad wear costumes based on what? Police Officer uniforms from New Orleans in the 1930’s.
20. You’re in a dream, at Disneyland, and you’re hungry. So, you walk up to a door, and press a buzzer. After being ‘lifted’ to your seat, you order, and then visit a small private area and sit on a fancy wicker chair. After eating, you step outside to check out the line for the Pirates of the Caribbean. Then you visit a glass case, and hand over lots of money to a smiling cast member. After finishing this you sadly leave, and wonder if you’ll ever experience this again. Where did you go for lunch? Club 33

Bonus Question:

In the first room of the Sorcerer's Workshop in the Animation Building at DCA where you can make your own animation, there are lights and pictures hanging from the ceiling. There are four that look like crystals that represent four Disney movies. They even have a character from the movie in each crystal. Can you name the four movies? Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, Lion King, and Aladdin.

I found the bonus question, but forgot to bookmark the site. I could not find it again. I did however find these pics online, and have circled the crystals for us. It's hard to tell in the pics what is on them. I can't wait to check them out in person now!

Love the cartoon!

I was gonna go shopping...then I got my car repair bill. :scared1:
Ugh, that sucks!
I've been looking at the ads and threads, and so far I haven't spotted anything super great.

The next thing I know, I smell plastic burning, and there is now plastic burned onto my burner! How the heck do I get that off!?!
Yikes! I don't know. Maybe do a Google search and see what you can find.

UGH..:scared1:
I don't care how nice or evil they are, they are still CREEPY!!!!!!

DS 8 wants a skateboard, Heelies, clothes, new Etnies (shoes, I created a monster), Guitar Hero for his DS.

DS12 is going to Indiana to his dads from Dec. 16- Jan 7.
He told me I could wait until he got back to get his presents.
So that way I didn't double up on the gifts...

Yeah, that's why I'm not too upset about it. I see nothing that I want to buy, so I think I will save some money and sleep in. :goodvibes

While you're down there, why don't you do some crunches or push ups. ;)

I hate that the older they get, the more expensive the gifts get. LOL I liked it when the girls were happy with a doll. :rotfl:

Good grief woman, why would I want to do that??? :scared:

I know why I should, but why would I want to? ;)
