Hi Miss MaryJo..
The Tour sounds like fun!
I'm in.:goodvibes
Thank You for making the arrangements.
:flower3: That was thoughtful of You.

Quickly corrects my drive by posting.

Then says Thanks to Cheryl... Count me in.princess:

Everybody stay safe from the fire's.

Gone again.

Ok ladies--here's another possibility for the March trip. I saw my Disney 'guide' (the fancy name they use for salesmen for Disney Vacation Club) last week (he was in Florida at the same time) and asked if it would be possible to get some of my buddies in to tour the new DVC models of the units being built at the Grand Californian during the Ladies Only trip (I know that some of you are interested). Anyway, he got back to me and responded that not only would it not be a problem, but that he could arrange a special mini-event tour for us (the models would be closed other than for us), Disney would provide some refreshments and a "welcome package" for each attendee (whatever that is). So, before I say "yes-let's set it up" I wanted to see if there actually was enough interest among you.

He indicated we would need to do it Thursday night (not possible--pizza party) or Friday night (possible--after Carnation Cafe dinner). The models are over near the Disneyland Hotel. I chatted with Beth, who indicated that the current plan for Carnation Cafe was a 5 or 5:30 dinner--which means that those attending the dinner could eat and then walk it off during a stroll over to the Disneyland Hotel/DVC center to meet at 7:30. It would probably take an hour to an hour and a half.

So, is anyone interested in doing this? There would be no obligation (in fact, in my experience even when you set up individual tours with DVC it is really low-key).

Thoughts?

I'm in! I've seen the GCV models before, but I'd love to see them again! And it sure would be nice to get some GVC points! I hope the economy turns around before GCV goes on sale...

Lol -- drive bys will do that to you. :)

Hey, I am going to be in town for the weekend! Driving in on Friday & out on Monday. If my relatives let me up for air maybe we can grab a bite & visit. :)

Cristabel: when they give you shirts to wear (like the Bolt shirt) do you get to keep them? That would be soooo cool!

Oh, yeah I'm pretty sure of it. Why would they want to take back shirts people wore and got dirty....and maybe stunk up :lmao:

Hi Everyone! Looks like a quiet (relatively) weekend around here.

I pray everyone stays safe though this latest round of fires.

I got a little more christmas shopping done today. I hope to have it done in a week or two. When does everyone around here start decorating for Christmas? I always wait until after Thanksgiving.

Have a safe trip Stacie. Are you done packing yet? Have a margarita for me!

Oh, I forgot to tell you all. I went to the Disney Store today, and the whole store was 25% off. I got a few things for the boys for their stockings, and gifts.

I saw the $2.50 shopping bags there, that someone had mentioned several pages back. They are cute, there is one with WallE and one with Mickey on it. They are the 'paper cloth' shopping bags that every store seems to be getting to cut down on plastic shopping bags. Are these what you all had in mind for a tote? I guess I was thinking you were meaning the canvas type. Sorry, I feel silly asking but I joined you all late, and don't want to show up with the wrong thing. (If there is such a thing!) :goofy:

I'm a tenative yes for the tour. Thanks Sheryl

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Cheryl, I'd be up for a DVC tour as well. I always like to drool over things I know I can never have. ;)

I can't even think of Christmas shopping yet. Noelle and Adam both have birthdays before Christmas so I've got to shop for those too. I'm hoping to get some good deals on Black Friday. Anyone else hitting the stores at 4 a.m.?? LOL

I don't have a set time when I decorate. Always after Thanksgiving, but not on a certain day. Whenever the mood strikes me to drag in umpteen boxes of decorations from the garage. :rotfl:

Well, Stacie is in charge of this, but I'm pretty sure she meant the canvas style. That's what I'm planning to get.

:rotfl2: Me too.

The fires are really bad in So Cal. DD & I were at DL this am and left to have lunch at Mimi's and then tried to drive home. The traffic was so bad and the 57N and 91E were closed so I had to venture to the 5 South and Ortega Hwy. Yikes. That was a very long drive as many, many others were doing the same. It took almost FIVE hours to get home (usually a 70-80 minute drive) and I was so stressed out and freaked. So many homes have been lost, it is so sad. The air quality at DL was very poor, orange sky and ashes everywhere. Breathing was very difficult. I really felt so sorry for the families who planned trips and had to endure these conditions. :sad1:

I am really hoping our Feb trip is blessed with lots of Pixie Dust and we have low crowds and great weather. ;)

Hi everyone
Happy Saturday!
I was up at 5:45am this morning!:scared1: Because I had to stop at the local donut store for a dozen donuts to take to the store holiday meeting, put gas, and pick up a fellow co-worker. On my way to pick up my co-worker, my grandmother calls me telling me how she called my house and my parents on their cells but no one was answering. I told her, "MOM (what I call my grandma), it's 6am! Of course no one is answering!"

Well the fires over here are pretty crazy and my aunt and her family have been evacuated. They are awaiting news while they stay at a hotel in Chatsworth. Luckily my uncle's sister took the dog to stay at her house. I was worried about poor old Pax. Now I can see it near my house. It's so warm! :sad2: This is definitely not November weather. I expect this in October but November?!?! So please keep all those people in the San Fernando Valley in your thoughts and prayers.

So the meeting was fun! I won two Bolt posters and a pair of Voluntears ears. We also get to wear a t-shirt that says "BOLT Now in theaters" and on the back it says "Let it begin! Let it begin!" for next Fri-Sun and Nov 28th thru 30th.

So much stuff is going on and I'm excited.

25% of the entire store going on now! if you have a bounceback coupon (if your preordered Wall-e or received it earlier) you get that on top of the already 25% off for a total savings of 37% everything excluding media. :dance3:

Hope you all stay safe from the fires! Thanks for posting about the store sale. I love those sales, and I have a Wall-e discount card. Heading in to pick up movie and shop on the 19, or was it the 18th?

Oh, yes! I am totally in!!!

Cheryl, assuming I go (and the urge to make sure I do is getting stronger day by day), you KNOW I'll be in on that tour. The question will be...just how many tours and events will I go on before I Just Do It? :)

We already have a savings account going on to work up to a re-sale tiny contract (small as you can get) just to get "in the door". But don't tell the guide that.:goodvibes

Do it Molly! Just give in to the urge and come!

I am down for this. Totally count me in. Sounds like a lot of fun. Never got to do one of these before so YES!

I was thinking more of the canvase type tote. Sorry.

Yeah, canvas type tote.

I hear you with birthdays around Christmas. DD, my mom and two of my closest friends are all in December. Its so hard to do my Christmas stuff when I am also dealing with birthdays. DD and I talked last night about what she wanted to do this year for her birthday. She is not really the birthday party type kid. But this year she will be 13 and wants to take some friends out to dinner. So now I just got to find an evening free to do so.

I also usually put up my Christmas decorations up Thanksgiving weekend. But as of right now I am just not really in the mood. I hope it changes. Or else 13 Christmas trees will remain in their boxes this year. I am just not looking forward to dealing with it all. I am seriously thinking of just buying a new tree and figuring out a new theme for it and starting from scratch.

Yeah, the air over here has been horrible. DD and I went to run errands yesterday and it was awful. We made it to one store only and then ended up driving through for lunch since we didn't want to get out of the car. She has asthma and fire season is her big trigger. So yesterday was just gross. Its already looking better outside. But I haven't gone out there yet to check. I just hope it doesn't get worst.

I finally am getting my Big Bear pics onto the computer. I have almost all of them on my myspace. But I wanted to post what the cabin, aka chateau, looked like. This was taken when we first arrived.

Um, my store (Disney Store in Valencia, CA) we open at 12am! November 28th Yes, that's MIDNIGHT the day after thanksgiving!

I really want an opening shift so I can be done by 3:30am and then I can go black friday shopping just as the regular stores are just opening

Hi catching up here with everything!

Cheryl, count me in on the DVC tour. We have talked to someone already, but the models were not opened yet. So that would be cool to see.

Stacie the cabin is gorgeous!! Did you say friends owned it, or did you just find it on the net or somethin?

Last but not least...................You all that live in So Cal, please take good care of yourselves!!! :flower3:

Hi ladies! I'm trying to catch up too, so hopefully I don't leave anything out...

The DVC tour sounds like fun, of course I could never buy one, but my curiosity, it has been piqued. :upsidedow

I hope everyone is safe and stays safe from the fires. I know how horrible it can be to be close to a fire like that. :flower3: :grouphug:

My family gets our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, and the decorations slowly start to some out that night. Although, this year, I could give a care less if we even decorate. The family drama this year has been too much and I just stopped caring about everything.

Stacie, that cabin looks gorgeous! I would love to stay there. You must have had a lot of fun there.

I've been in a funk all weekend and haven't felt like doing anything at all, so I haven't. Hopefully I cheer up soon, because it bothers me not to care about anything, and I tend to have really bad nightmares when I feel this way.

OK, enough of my drama. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! :goodvibes
