Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

A good one that is kind of bloody but nothing like Saw or TCM, is the Strangers. I was watching it through my fingers the whole time! It's SO suspenseful!

The Strangers was super suspenseful! I really don't like not being able to see people's faces. Even the characters at Disneyland freak me out a little.

Love the Seafood Buffet at the Rio, Why aren't we going to that on the Vegas trip?!!

Like Beth, I'm not a fan of seafood either, but that would be a good diet strategy for me.


I haven't done a character dinner in a VERY long time. That would be good too.

Can anyone give me a quick update, pretty please?? Any must know information?
I have been running around like a wild woman. We are tearing out the carpet in four of our rooms and putting in laminate. So I have been trying to find the best way to get this done. The problem is we already have Pergo in alot of the house and I would like it to kind of match - but it doesn't look like that is going to happen because they don't make the original one anymore. Oh well. I will just be happy when the carpet is out! I am not a carpet fan - if you couldn't tell!
Gotta run - need to be in Jack's classroom in 6 minutes. good thing I am only down the street.
Try to catch up more later this afternoon.

Okay, I watched some clips and the movie trailer for The Strangers and I'm already freaked out.

I kind of want to throw up a little at the thought, just to be honest. The prospect of eating seafood freaks me out and I can almost smell the buffet from here. That would be one event that I'd have to skip

I don't like the smell of fish either. My step dad is Filipino and growing up he cooked lots of fish. I hated it.

You really haven't missed much as far as anything definite. We've been tossing around shirt designs so if you have ideas feel free to share them.
We plan to do a poll to decide which character meal and whether it be for lunch or dinner.

We are still planning on one onsite hotel and one offsite (HoJo). Rates aren't out for 2010 yet though.
What else? I guess that's it. If anything of any real importance is decided upon, an update will show in the title and front page.

Don't feel bad Becci. I fall behind even when I'm here. I go to post something on our thread and by the time I do, there's 8 other posts that some of the other ladies posted while I was composing my post. And by the time I read those 8 other posts, there's 8 more posts that have posted. It's a vicious cycle.

Not much to report. There's been talk of our t-shirt design and theme for next years ladies trip, and it seems pirate princess is an early favorite.

Also there's some talk of staying onsite at one of the Disneyland hotels if the AP rates make it affordable for us. Just a little splurge for us if it's feasible.

There's been a suggestion of incorporating rides in the scavenger hunt.

And there's a suggestion of doing a character dinner instead of a character breakfast to leave our mornings open for less crowded park time.

Have you checked out Target? I am not sure if teen boys wear stuff from Target. Maybe it is not cool enough. But my DH got some nice cargo shorts from there a week ago.

Being sick today is a major problem as I am the chair elect of our major campus awards ceremony that is happening at 4 pm today. As chair elect I am basically second in command and then next year I am in charge, so I really should be there, but right now that is NOT a possibility.

When I was
younger, I used to LOVE horror movies. But now I don't like them at all. They're either dumb (like Prom Night) or too freaky (like The Ring, which still gives me nightmares.).

They used to make better horror films.. more psychological.

Plus, on the character meal for next year--what if we did a Goofy's Kitchen dinner rather than breakfast? I know that at breakfast we're anxious to get out to the parks and have fun--maybe at dinner we'd be able to relax a little more and enjoy? just a thought

I'm for that! I paid for an expert's advice on wdw and that was one of his big things.

This is interesting.. it has a vintagey feel to it... so it wouldn't show when some of us {like me} mess up ironing it on.

The best idea is to book a buffet so you are there at opening. One reason I don't like them is I tend to eat too much.
