I was thinking of bringing one this coming weekend.

Yes! I was just trying to get an idea of the average AP rate at the GCH for the 2010 trip time. *EDIT: I know it'll be different next year but just an idea of what it was this year perhaps* My mom was wondering because if that's one of the options then we want to stay on property for some extra magical warm fuzzy feelings :goodvibes I think she's just curious because she needs to give my dad advance warning to get him used to the idea of the $$$

I hear you!! The lowest rate I saw this past year did not go below $200/night for the GCH (I think it was around $220 at the lowest :confused3) We stayed in October and if you do stay, I would suggest requesting a room close to the lobby. We did not and we were in a room basically at the entrance to DTD - so a FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR walk. I would stay again, but would definitely make that request. I love Magic Mornings!!!

Hey Miss Theresa!:flower3: i want curly wurlies!!:worship:
we came to celebrate my father in law's 78th birthday. my mother in law has alzhemiers.. and it's really bad. I took care of her all weekend so my father in law could have a break. i'm trying to get them to move near us so i can help daily with her. Unfortunately that would mean selling the family lake house and they are just not ready to do that. It's a challenging situation.

Oh, that is hard then. My friend just went through something similar with her mom (who passed away in February after a very long and difficult time). It takes a lot of dedication from a spouse to handle that alone!

Heck, Im baking a cake to satisfy my sweet tooth. And it is freakin hot over here today. But damn it, I need cake!

I got cupcakes  ......... and it's not hot here in the least - just finished raining.

Hey Beth....you got something on your nose :lmao:
That's ok, I'm also gonna get my photopass CD. :p

Beth.. :goodvibes i'm calling you Jenna Jameson from now on!
It's been a good weekend, alot of work, i'll be glad to get home so i can pack for the MA trip! I wish you were going to be there. Maybe next year.
LOL
I can't wait to hear about the MA trip! :yay:

Shouldn't I be able to retire yet???
I don't know about that, but you definitely deserve a kick butt vacation to someplace fun like......I dunno, Vegas maybe. ;)

It was a wonderful life lesson.
That is a good lesson.

For me, my AP site is blinking "YOUR AP EXPIRES IN 27 DAYS!!" :( Thanks! I know!
Ouch! That sucks. Like adding insult to injury.

I hope little Belle is ok.

Now what do I want to eat?! *rummages*
After I go shopping, I'm always too lazy to actually do any cooking then so I'll usually stop for take out on the way home. :sad2:

Nope, I don't think you should do that :sad2: Baaaaaaaad idea! (and not fair to the poor souls who can't come!!!!)

Cake sounds awesome ::yes::

I think she's just curious because she needs to give my dad advance warning to get him used to the idea of the $$$
Hmmm, maybe it's better for him not to know. :rolleyes1

Wow Dawn, that's rough. I'm so sorry.

:rotfl2: How funny.

Ugh, it's too hot. :guilty: It was windy over here earlier, that's what was really bothering me.

Damn and Hell are okay as I believe they had relevance in some of the religious conversations that took place on the community board.

Raining??? I'm so jealous!

That is so sad. My Dad--one of the most brilliant people I knew--had Alzheimer's. It was terrible--he died four years ago. the last nine months he was in a nursing home because he couldn't walk--it almost killed my Mom. They had promised never to put the other in a nursing home when they were first married.

One day I went in and said "Dad--do you know who I am?" and he looked at me quizzically and said "Well, you look familiar . . . . " and I said--"well, then, that's good enough!" He died in January--the Christmas Eve before that he knew both me and my Mom by name. I called it our Christmas present from God.

My Mom and her caregiver made a pineapple upside down cake yesterday!!

Well, then, look for them to become banned words since religious talk is no longer allowed . . . .

:grouphug:
Alzheimer's is just such a tragic disease. :guilty:

I went for the bag of peanut butter filled pretzels. I have a strong feeling that the bag will empty itself into my tummy. I already did a pre-guilt assessment. I can eat the whole bag and still be under 2000 calories for the daily consumption. We're talking about 1000 calories right before bed... I guess I'm so hungry because I was so busy talking on the Divas board today that I forgot to eat anything :lmao: I don't care they're so delicious!

Good to know.

And I would send you a piece of cake if I could.

I miss pineapple upside down cake. Can't have it anymore. Pineapple allergy.

The AP rate calendar only goes out currently to July 2009.

the discount will be "at least" 10% off the rack rate; in Feb. they often have special AP rates that can be quite discounted.

and not to pry--but if your Mom is 60 or over there is a senior's discount of 30%
