Hi Sarah. Are you getting excited for your cruise?? It will be here before you know it.

I am SUPER excited. I don't know if I posted it here or not but we upgraded from the 5 day to an 8 day. We will now stop in Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan amd Cabo San Lucus. We both have done the Ensenada one quite a few times and we got a good price on the 8 day so we upgraded. I've never been on this ship ( the Splendor, it's one of Carnival's newest) but it's the one DBF was on when he went on the cruise with his friend to Canada. He says it's very nice.

It was hard enough just calling HOJO's to cancel the room

I do have a bit of good news. My brother in law has been stationed in Kosovo for the last year, and he came home for good this morning! My sis in law and their 3 kids under the age of 5 are super-excited! We're having a welcome home party on Sunday, and I'm actually pretty excited to see him.

Aw, that's wonderful. And just in time for the holidays.

You're not crazy. It's only symbolic, but taking them down makes it somehow more "real". December is right around the corner, so probably no chance of anything changing there, but why not leave the ladies trip up just in case? It's still over 3 months away, and you just never know what might change between now and then. You've already got a cheap room split like 20 ways.

You have a really good point! It is still quite a ways away. I just worry about not being able to let the roomies know until the last minute. If they want to fill the room they certainly can. Either way I'm totally ok with a pillow in the tub.

Yep I do have an AP that expires in early March. That and the cheap airfare keep me optimistic!

Sorry about my post regarding the flowers. I should of read all the posts before I posted!

Having a big wind storm for the last 2 days. Want to be warm again.......

Hasn't the wind been insane?!?! It is absolutely howling around my house and has been for almost a week! I hope this isn't a taste of things to come, it's not even winter yet!

Hey everyone...I haven't read back but I had to come on and tell you how upset I am ! I just found out my only sibling is getting married over new years! I can't go! I don't have enough leave built up nor do I have the money to be able to buy a ticket for over a holiday (read pricey)! GRRRR. At least I like the girl he's marrying....I can't believe I don't get to be there though.

Ladies, I am so sorry that I was not around today to post.

I have read everything, and wish I had time to say something to everyone.

Just know that I am thinking about you all very much.

I see that Cheryl did tell you about Dawn's improvement. Thank goodness. It is small, but a step in the right direction. They actually took her out of the coma for a minute, and she smiled at Bob and wiggled her toes. Then they put her right back into it.

Her oxygen point levels had been steady dropping. Her lungs could not absorb enough oxygen. Her low point was last night. In the morning the points started to go up. At the time of his email, her numbers had gone up 20 points from her lowest level.

Yesterday, all they could hear was the ventilator working. Today Bob was able to hear air moving in her lungs. They are all encouraged by this. It's little, but feel it is the turning point for Dawn.

Let's continue to pray this is so.

Now to the gift. I am asking to get it to me by the 27th of this month. If it does not get here in time, no biggie. I will just sent another package off, with more numbers added for the advent.

If any of you want her mailing address for packages, PM me, and I will gladly give that to you.

I remember the last time we were there at Christmas, my kids sat mesmerized. They loved it, even Adam. It was just a really nice, special time.

Tina that is awesome about your bro in law. I plan to go look at that news clip here in a minute. Having survived Shane being gone 15 months in Iraq I can TOTALLY relate to how your sis and all of you are feeling. Those homecomings are AWESOME! Enjoy!

I also know what you mean about missing DL at the holidays. To be perfectly honest as much as I LOVE DL and would love to go anytime I must admit since I have been at the holidays I almost hate to go at any other time now. The park is SO much more beautiful and magical. It seems so DRAB when it is not decorated! I LOVE IASMW and Main Street and just ALL the decs everywhere. Esp New Orlans Square. It is just so magical and REALLY gets you into the holiday spirit!!

This time last year I was in DW and it was so neat there as well with all the different Santas from around the world. I really miss not being there during the holidays and I don't know WHEN I will be back for a holiday trip. Someday!

I am off to work here in a minute and then the girls and are off to the harvest festival. We have our LAST soccer game tomorrow thank goodness and then just church on Sunday. The girls have all next week off so I hope to do some fun stuff with them. I have to get my teeth cleaned on Monday (yuck! HATE the dentist) and then I have a doc apt on Tues but otherwise that's bout it. And as I mentioned before we are going to Truckee next weekend after Turkey day so I am really hoping there will be snow for the girls to play in (and maybe me too! )

Good news that there is some improvement for Dawn...continuing to send happy, positive, get well thoughts to you!!!

We are going to see New Moon tonight - I can't wait! And to all of you seeing it soon - enjoy!

I am not sure what else we are doing for the weekend but Bob asked what mountain I wanted to climb...hmmm...maybe hiking but I think I'd rather go ride my new bike on the beach bike path in Santa Monica! Sunday we are going out to dinner with friends of Bob's that I have not met yet and we've been trying to get together for awhile so I can meet them and Sunday was the only day we all had free. Should be fun!

For Thanksgiving we will be having dinner at Bob's parents house and then we'll drop the kids off at their mom's for their Thanksgiving dinner and we'll have the rest of the day/night to ourselves and we'll probably go see a movie. Then Friday I want to start decorating for Christmas minus the tree (we'll get that later because we get a real tree) and then Sat. Bob and I are going to DL for the weekend and staying thru Monday for my birthday. I'm looking forward to some the perfect BD gift, 'us' time!!

I was looking at our calendar and we have something every weekend until Christmas but that is the holiday season. My parents will be coming to spend Christmas with us this year so cleaning house will need to be added to the list somewhere! We've already been organizing and cleaning closests and kitchen cupboards - I still have tons of boxes in the garage from moving here and we could easily set up a second kitchen if needed. Anyone need a kitchen setup??

Have not recieved any new word on Dawn today. As soon as I get one, I will let you know.

I am also going to see New Moon tonight. Along with everyone from our valley. I'm just about ready to order tickets online, as soon as my DD gets back to me. She is teaching and I have to wait for her recess. In the meantime, I already buying 7 tickets for my other DD and her friends.

My DIL went to the midnight showing last night. She said, it is waaaaaaaay better than the first one. Better directing, acting and do on.

I was glad to hear yesterday's Dawn update. Here's to more encouraging news today.

Melody, I sent a small box to you yesterday, vis US mail. So maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday you'll get it.

Vicki, sounds busy but fun! You should get a good long ride in with your new bike. I am going to a concert at a medium-sized club tonight (friend of a friend is the lead act), then tomorrow we're seeing a Handel opera. We bought these tickets last year, otherwise with this economy the way it is, we wouldn't be going. I think we lucked out on the rain possibility though.

Cristabel, where did you end up sitting to watch the parade? And how long did you wait?

DAWN: Sending you lots and lots of good healthy wishes from Disneyland Paris!!! I am just miserable about what you are going through and can not believe this is happening to you. Please get much better REAL soon. Disneyland Paris is a beautiful place and I just cant wait for you to come visit Spring 2011! Much pixie dust your way!!!

And hello from DLP to everyone else! Internet connectivity is very expensive here so I have not been able to use my iPhone. Today was our second day in the park. It is beautifully decorated for Christmas and crowds are low. Basically a walk on for everything except for a visit with Santa which was over an hour wait, but you gotta do it!

High points: Space Mountain which goes upside down and is just beautiful. Pirates which has all the familiar elements but put together in a different order. The Phanton Manor which has a great story line with the bride and is a little creepier. Thunder Mountain which is on its own little island and is long and fun. The castle which has a dragon in the caverns underneath. And Fantasyland which just shouldbe better in Europe. The second park Disney Studios did not impress with few rides which all seemed to be closed. And Disney Village is not as nice as Downtown Disney. I did convince DH to get the annual passes which are actually less expensive than three day park tickets.

I have some iPhone photos which I can share with more details once we get back to Switzerland

Tomorrow we drive into Paris to see SacreCour and Eiffle Tour. And to get some good food!
