Hope everyone is having a great Thursday! Looking forward to hearing an update on Dawn - prayers still going up for her.

I bought my airline tickets last night!!:cool1: Arriving at SNA airport at 10:50am on Thursday and leaving on Sunday at 4:25pm. So I would LOVE to ride with some ladies to and from the airport to save some $$. :)

We are leaving for DL on Saturday morning. I'm so excited to see all the Christmas Decor!:thumbsup2

Kelly, I'm sure your dh did well on his test. :thumbsup2

Janelle, sorry about Chris' job. It's tough out there right now.:sad2:

Off to change the laundry:laundy:. I need to hit Target before picking up the kids.

One more thing -

My dd's 12th birthday is on Thanksgiving Day and she wants an ipod nano. Anyone bought one of these recently. Do they every go on sale or should I just go to Walmart and buy one? Are there different models or anything else I should know?

Good afternoon!
I hope everyone is doing well.
I'm still sending prayers for Dawn, I really hope she is home sooner than a month. I just realized that she will most likely spend Thanksgiving in the hospital and not with her family :sad2:

I'm going to Disneyland today to see the Christmas parade. I'm hoping to get a really good spot. When I went last Saturday for my cousin's birthday I couldn't see a thing. If the parade is at 5:30pm, what time should I get my seat? And where is a good place to see it?

Actually, I haven't bought airfare yet. Still up here on this fence. . . :rolleyes1
What are you waiting for?? One of us to push you off?? ;)

No real update--other than a cryptic message from Bob to Sally that said "positive news"--so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Oh, let's hope it's something good!! My fingers are crossed too.

We are just having my parents over for a small dinner. Just doing a ham and some sides. Nothing big but having the family together. Chris' mom is having her last chemo treatment next Monday so we're putting off Thanksgiving with his family until the following week in the hopes that she'll be feeling better. We just felt it was better since she's usually a little run down after a treatment. Just SO very thankful it's her last one!!!!!
We figure it doesn't matter if we celebrate on the exact day, as long as we make the time to all be together at some point. AND the bonus is.....two Thanksgiving dinners, you just can't go wrong. :)
That sounds lovely. Being with family is what really matters. And it's nice of you to have another dinner with his parents once his mom is feeling more up to it. Two Thanksgiving dinners sounds good to me! ;)

It's a brisk but sunny morning!
Nice. I love mornings like that. The sun shining, but with a chill in the air. :goodvibes

Drive by hi!
Hi Sarah. Are you getting excited for your cruise?? It will be here before you know it.

Beth we are going to have Thanksgiving at my mom's with some family and then HOPEFULLY go up to Truckee on Friday after possibly doing a little Black Friday shopping Fri morning. We hope to stay up there till Sun morning but not sure.
That sounds nice. I love Black Friday shopping! I hope you all have some snow to complete the holiday scene while y'all are up there. And I hope your parents have a nice time on their trip when they go. How fun.

I am home sick for the second day in a row. Yesterday I didn't leave the house at all--Dave took care of taking Ty to and home from daycare.
Oh no, Jane. That sucks. I'm sorry. Feel better soon.

I'm ready for this week to end....in fact, hoping 2010 is a much better year!

I agree that Russell is sneaky but at this point I think he deserves to win. He's played the game since the first minute we saw him.
I agree. I wanted him gone from day one, but now.....I don't know. I mean, it's not supposed to be a popularity contest. It's who plays the game best. And right now, I gotta admit, he's playing it for sure!!

Good afternoon!
I hope everyone is doing well.

I haven't seen the parade so not sure if it moves constantly or if it has "stops" like some of the others--so in other words--I'm no help.

At this point I'm hoping Dawn is home in time for Christmas . . . . . on a positive note, Bob emailed today and her oxygen levels are up--which is really good news. She is also getting some air through her lungs (he heard it through a stethoscope) and that's great news too. Keep the prayers going Divas!

Yeah, I'm ready for Laura to go home too.
Me too. She bugs me.

YAY for tickets!! :yay: Have fun in DL. I'm so jealous. I love DL during the holidays. Halloween and Christmas both. :)

The Christmas parade is so fun. I wish I could see it. I like to sit on the sidewalk curb in front of the stairs to the train on Main Street. No special reason, we just always seem to end up there. I always get there early, at least an hour prior, but it depends on crowds of course. Good luck and have fun. :santa:

Just a drive by HI and HUG!! I'll post later, girls! MUAH! :)
Hi Courtney! How's it going?

Thanks for the update Cheryl. I'm glad to hear that! I just know she will be home in time to enjoy the holidays with her family. I believe that. And my prayers for her will continue. ::yes::

You've never seen the Christmas parade? Oh, I hope you have plans to this season. It's really something. I love it!!

Cheryl, the Christmas parade doesn't have stops so it's just a normal parade.
I think I'll claim a bench on Main St. The curbs hurt my booty :lmao:
I also want to catch Tiana's Showboat Jubilee. We only caught the last part on Saturday and it was so fun!

Have fun at the parade, Cristabel! I am working late today so can't make it.

The parade is pretty slow, they basically loop the music (I love that song), and have a brief stop every few minutes to start over again, and so it is go, pause, go, pause. We've seen the 3:30 and 6:30 (it was 6:30 when we saw it), and I like both times, but night-time with the floats lit up is just so special.

It may not be sooo crowded since today is Thursday, but we waited an hour for the parade, and there were a bunch of people already, so it MIGHT be crowded still.

Continued prayers for Dawn, and I hope those of you who are under the weather get well soon.

:grouphug: to all

I love that song too!! I just watched it on youtube. :goodvibes

I remember the last time we were there at Christmas, my kids sat mesmerized. They loved it, even Adam. It was just a really nice, special time.

Cristabel, you have no idea how jealous I am of you right now. ;)

Hi girls I am not sure if anyone is interested but I am going to order flowers for Dawn on Friday morning. FTD has very nice Thanksgiving and get well arrangments. If anyone Is interested just PM and we will figure out the details and the price. If not that is fine also.

You may want to check with the hospital. None of our ICU's (Providence) will allow flowers. They like to keep the rooms as clean and free of clutter as possible.

The little gifts sound great and she should (cross fingers) be out of ICU by the time those are sent out.

Thanks for the Dawn update Cheryl. That is good news.

MJ - I agree, its a bit more special at night when the floats are lit up.

Cristabel - the curb hurts my booty too. Grab a bench and a snack :thumbsup2

Sorry about my post regarding the flowers. I should of read all the posts before I posted!

Having a big wind storm for the last 2 days. Want to be warm again.......:sad2:

Afternoon ladies.

Again thank you to all of those who wished Shane good luck! The good news is he passed the law part of his test the bad news is he failed the practical part (the electrical part). He got a 54 and needed a 66. SOOOO he will have to retake that part. At least he doesn't have to retake the law!! We just got back from the post office and sent off his 50.00 re-exam fee so hopefully he will be able to retake it in about 3 or 4 weeks he thinks! He says at least now he kind of knows what to study. He said NOTHING on the electrical part was anything he had studied. TYPICAL! So hopefully he will do better the 2nd time around.

Mel I also got a box for dawn's gift and will hopefully get it mailed tomorrow!

Shelby's class had a thanksgiving "feast" today at school and she said they had fun and mom and I met for lunch and then I went with her to do a little xmas shopping and now we are home. The girls are officially on break! WHEW! I do have to go in to work for a bit tomorrow but then we are going to the harvest festival which should be fun so I am excited about that.

Anyway that's bout it for me.

Prayers to dawn and hope everyone else is good!

PS Jane hope you feel better!!

You've never seen the Christmas parade? Oh, I hope you have plans to this season. It's really something. I love it!!

I saw it a couple of years ago--wasn't sure if this year was different or not.

Gosh, I should have mulit-quoted. I hope I don't forget anything!

Cheryl--thanks for the mini update on Dawn.

Mel--I am going out tomorrow to do a little shopping, so I'll get a package out to you either tomorrow afternoon or Saturday.

The Taco Salad is all gone, and I didn't get any. But I am currently cheering myself up with a buttery grilled cheese sammie!!!

Jane--Take care of yourself. I hope you start feeleing better right away!

Becci--Have a great time in Disneyland! This is the first year in 10-plus years that we don't have a trip planned for the holiday season. I'm pretty bummed about that!

Cristabel--Enjoy the parade! It is one of my very favorites!

Dawn--I'm thinking about you, girlie!!!

I do have a bit of good news. My brother in law has been stationed in Kosovo for the last year, and he came home for good this morning! My sis in law and their 3 kids under the age of 5 are super-excited! We're having a welcome home party on Sunday, and I'm actually pretty excited to see him.

OK that's it for me for now.
