Dear God, (...or great spirit up there...)

I promise not to be a greedy smurf if you could please help my friend Dawn get better soon.:littleangel:

Thank you,
Linda

You girls are seriously the best, I agree with Beth.

If it's 99 days, why does my ticker say 98!? I'm getting ahead of myself here.

Hi Divas--here's the latest update on Dawn:

She is still in ICU has been placed in a medically-induced coma and they are still having trouble getting her oxygen levels up. She is fully intubated and on oxygen. Her condition is "critical," because her asthma and some other conditions make it difficult to treat her.

However, on the "bright" side the doctors seem to think that if they can avoid secondary infections she can come through this just fine. Bob is happy with the doctor and the nurses (both Army vets) and feels that she is getting great care.

Will update you as I know more.

In the meantime, a few of us have been talking about what to send her (when she feels better and can enjoy it of course)--our thought was to send a "gift box" with little momentoes from each of us rather than a group gift. Perhaps something that reminds you of her or something girly that you know she will like. I would also ask that you accompany each little gift you may send with a personal note--I think that would mean more to her than anything.

For those of you who want to participate Melody has graciously offered to be the depository of gifts and then get them sent to her in one package. So PM me or Melody and we will send you address info. I think we should shoot for sending it to her the first week of December--after Thanksgiving and by then hopefully she will be on the mend. In the meantime I know many of us are sending cards to let her know we're thinking of her.

Mel:hug:

Courtney, I will get it to you right now.

Thanks for the Dawn update Cheryl - I was so hoping the next update would be better news. I am so worried about her. Sending positive thoughts her way all the time! I have asthma too but nothing like Dawn's and I am so glad that she is in the hospital where she can get the kind of help she needs.

Dawn - When you can read this...my thoughts are with you and I'm doing some bargaining of my own like Linda to help you get better soon!!!

I'll PM you soon Melody.

Courtney, I will get it to you right now.

I will send you a pm in a few minutes. I will be in DL this coming Saturday-Tuesday and want to pick up a little gift there. Thanks!

Also - Virgin America is having a sale today so I am going to book through them. $39 each way from SFO to SNA! :thumbsup2 Even on Sunday!

I know Kelly and her mom are getting into SNA at 1:45 but now I need to choose between arriving at SNA at 10:50 or 3:35. Anyone arriving around that time at SNA?:confused3

And who is leaving on Sunday? Anyone flying out of SNA around 4:25 or 6:50?

Heather will be arriving in SNA at 10:35am on Thursday. If we have 5 people, it's the same price to do the Disneyland Express as it is the Super Shuttle; $16/person round-trip.

Thanks for the update, Cheryl. Oh boy, when you hear "medically induced coma" it sure sounds serious. I'll keep praying for sweet Dawn.

Stacie, how do these run in size? My Mickey crocs are a 8-9 Medium and fit well, but I usually like to get a size up in flip flops so my heels don't come close to the end.

Hi ladies,

A little update on the gift box to be sent to Dawn.

We are going to try and see if we can get everything to me fairly soon.

If I get them early enough, I would like our little gifts to be a sort of Advent Calendar for her to open each day. I would label each wrapped gift with a number 1- 25. You get my idea, I'm sure. These little notes and gifts would be something for her to look forward to each day in the hospital. Even home baked goodies would be fine, cuz she could share them with the nurses too.

Please try to buy somewhat small things if possible, and be sure to wrap it up too if you can. If you can't, like someone has already told me, then I will be more than happy to do that too. This person, is going to order something online and have it sent to me direct. No worries if anybody else wants to do that too.

Ok, I have to go.

Thanks!
Mel

Thanks for that Stacie!
I just ordered a pair of Siren Flip Flops in Tan and three jibitz for a grand total of $17!:woohoo: You're right, I got 15% off plus free shipping. Can't go wrong with those prices.

Mel- When are you wanting to get the package out? I just ordered something & hopefully I'll receive it quickly.

Can anyone tell me what Disney characters Dawn likes the most? Or any special hobby or interest she has? Thanks!!!:)
