Stacielee and Beth, I saw that game in the Dream store today. I can't recall if it was 50 or 40 (I am not good with numbers), decided I was spending too much and put it back. But it will probably be in the parks. Tell me if you need it, because I will be back in the parks this week.

Stacielee, also buy those Clorax bleach wet wipes. I've heard they will kill germs that other things will not. Maybe it's viruses.

Tina, you've never seen Love Actually? Or Brid Jones? I love both those films.:cutie:

Kelly, if a restaurant made you sick, call them. They should know so they can avoid that and they usually will offer you something like another meal.

Today was the last day of d23 and it was the least exciting day. Looking back, day 2 was the best.

Hi Ladies! Man is it hot here for this time of year. Not sure if I mentioned it, but I don't like heat. That's why I love the NW. Callie, did you bring this with you?? Speaking of which, did you see the Mukilteo Fireworks last night?

Heat? What heat? Yeah, sure it was a tad warm today, but it didn't get over 80 here on the island. We live mid-island, so I don't think we could have seen the fireworks all the way in Mukilteo. Why did they have them?

Callie, so are you going to book the cruise?? Yesterday I spent an hour at AAA talking over the Alaska cruises. The lady I spoke with was a huge Disney fan. She was born the year DL opened and grew up in Anaheim. She said the best thing for us to do was to book the cruise on the 28th when it opens up just to have a spot and in the meantime continue researching other Alaskan cruises.

She said she anticipates the Disney Alaska cruise will be much higher priced than any other cruise lines with the same itinerary. And they all do pretty much follow the same schedules. She said since demand will be high, and it will most likely sell out quickly they can charge more. She did say that in the past the deposit has been high, but fully refundable, so if we book it but then decide later on it's not worth paying almost double just for a "Disney" cruise, we can cancel and use either Princess or Royal Caribbean which were her second choices for families.

And she did say it's better for us to get two staterooms versus paying more for a suite. I want the cheapest room possible!! LOL I don't plan on being in it much. I want to see the ship and Alaska, not the inside of my room.
Anyway, I cannot decide what to do. I have a feeling the DCL cruise will still be too high for us. Unfortunately. :guilty: We'll probably end up with an Royal Caribbean cruise. But, as long as I get to see Alaska, it's all good. :goodvibes

Hey Beth, didn't mean to ignore ya! Yeah, my dh has pretty much talked me out of the DCL Alaska cruise. :( If we ever go on a cruise with the whole family, it will probably be with RCCL. We could get a really great last minute rate since we live so close to the major ports up here. I have heard that a great suggestion for rooms is to get rooms across the hall from each other where one has a balcony, and the one across the hall is an inside stateroom. Then you have the kids sleep in the inside room, and you and dh get the luxury balcony room. Best of both worlds! Anyway, yeah, the initial thrill of DCL has been lost for me, unfortunately. There's just no way we could afford it plus excursions, etc.

LOL, Donna! I've seen those two millins of times! We had never seen The Secret Lives of Bees.

Callie--I'm off the Disney Cruise again, too. Way too much money, when I couldgo to WDW or a different cruiseline for way less.

I'm camped out in my room. I doing alot of :happytv:and :surfweb:.
That's good! You are supposed to be taking it easy.

I am not sure what I going to do when we get back because I won't be able to pull the Mickey card to get the kids to clean:rolleyes1
Then you pull the Santa card. :santa:

So I was all over the Alaska cruise, but since I saw the WDW Fantasyland expansion, I'm all about going there!
Isn't that too neat??? I love the Princesses. When I saw that I just about teared up with excitement! lol

Well I got my exchange shopping done! WHEW!
You and AmySue are on the ball with that!! :worship:

Beth are you 100 percent now?
I feel much, much better, but not 100%. Runny nose is hanging on. Thanks for asking. How about yourself?

Too bad we didn't have a money Tree! :rotfl2:
I could use one of those too!! haha

Don't have much time but wanted to say had a fun DLR weekend.
I bet you did!! Glad to hear that. :wizard:

Life obligations are important, but geesh, when will I have time to dis??
DIS is a life obligation. lol Congrats on the grant!

Hmmm what is this about Fantasy Land??? We are going to WDW Dec 2010.
Check out the link on Callie's Facebook page. It's so cool.

Thanks so much for offering. I'll get back to you on that.

That's a great idea about the two rooms. :thumbsup2
Funny, you should say that. I think we talked ourselves out of the DCL trip as well. I still want to go to Alaska for our combined birthdays in 2011, but we will probably go with Royal Caribbean. I did some pricing and they have pretty good deals.
I think we could get away with $5,000 total including excursions versus going on DCL and paying more than that just for the cruise alone. I wish I could do a Disney cruise, but I'll be happy just to see Alaska.

This weekend went tooooo fast!! Back to work/school tomorrow. Night ladies!! :cloud9:

Callie--I'm off the Disney Cruise again, too. Way too much money, when I couldgo to WDW or a different cruiseline for way less.
How funny. We were all so excited to see them going to Alaska, and then reality hit. :rotfl: I just want to see Alaska. Seeing it with Disney would have been nice, but it's ok if I don't. I was perfectly happy to go with another cruise line before the announcement was made, and I'm perfectly happy to stick with another cruise line now. The savings are worth it, at least for our large family. ::yes::

FYI, any Survivor fans??? Set your DVRs or Tivos or whatever, it starts again this Thursday night!! :woohoo: :yay:

OK, night again.

Busy weekend for car-buying for me. Review: we decided a few weeks ago to buy a new car so that Bryan could use our old car (that we just paid off a couple of months ago) until he can afford to buy one after he finishes school. Then a week ago Friday DH was in an accident and the old car was totalled. Now we need two cars. So today we decided to get the 2010 Subaru Legacy that we had been looking at for me. It's red, baybee! :cool1:

Legacy008.jpg

Also today we decided on a used car for Bryan. Now we just need to wait until next week when we get the settlement check from the insurance company so we can buy it. Hopefully we will get enough extra from the settlement to pay for our Disneyland trip in December.

Just found out yesterday that DD and her hubby and new baby (aka MY GRANDSON) decided to take a trip to Anaheim to visit his grandmother/aunts/cousins in late fall, and they were able to time their trip to coincide with ours so we will be flying together both ways and they will spend one day at DL with us! Hubby's aunt works there so can get them tickets and they will stay with relatives so just have to pay airfare. We were already taking the two DS's so we will all be there together! :dance3: She wants to get the baby's picture with characters -I wasn't planning anything with characters so now I need to make a strategy for that.

I am sure an Alaska cruise would be beautiful, but I have never really been interested in doing one. I loved our 10-day Disney cruise in the Caribbean and I have been dying to go back ever since. I love the Caribbean! I took a destination specialist class and am reading about the history. Very interesting! I found a 7-day Carnival cruise out of San Juan that goes to 6 different islands and am just waiting for the right time to do it; probably in a couple of years.

It's late and I'm heading off to bed but we, too, also have a WDW trip in the works. We don't know when but it looks like it's going to be Diana, Tyrae and me. I'm hoping to find a fourth person because odd numbers are no fun at theme parks.

Sorry Donna, I have class tomorrow morning.

Morning

I hope you all had a nice weekend and that this week goes well for everyone.

 to Katie. I hope things get better real soon.

Possible TMI in the next paragraph

So I guess I was up too much yesterday. :guilty:Last night I had Josh help me change the bandage on my foot and I had a small amount of fresh blood on my ankle and bandage.

So here I lay again. :sad2: I promised him I'd be resting today and that I won't get up unless absolutely necessary. So I'll be :surfweb: and :happytv: in order to keep my sanity.

Yes, that's what I mean! 80 YUCK! Gives me a :headache:
It was the lighthouse festival. Would probably have been easy for you all to attend with just a ferry ride over. I, on the other hand, living just a mile up the hill would have had to wait in line (in the heat, mind you) for 45 minutes to take a shuttle to the lighthouse park, which would have taken 45 minutes to get there because the traffic was so horrible, etc. They have booths of activities and the big thing I love is the Kiwanas salmon roast dinner. There is a beer garden and battle of the bands. Very local and very small, but fun. Except for the traffic and the heat!

I was in the parade this year with my youngest who is a new tiger scout. He was so darn cute! Anyhow, I was about cooked by the time that was over.

See why an Alaska cruise is so appealing to me:) My husband has pretty much put the cabosh on the DCL to Alaska. He has seen the pricing and unless they have a stupendous deal one day, he can't live with paying that sort of money for that sort of experience. Notice I say he, because I would pay it without a blink, but that is why we have a retirement plan, I guess! We will be back to either Norwegian or Princess, which are the two that go roundtrip out of Seattle. I like the idea of a roundtrip without the port or airport transfers for our first cruise. The shoulder seasons are so much more affordable (May, beginning of June, and September), but it is hard to take the kiddos out of school for an entire week.

Morning my diva friends! Happy Monday!

Well it is def weird here in MY neck of the woods! I think Tracy and Callie that we got YOUR weather and you got ours LOL.

We had clouds and rain all weekend and still today! Go figure! That is pretty unusual for us in September. We usually don't see rain until at LEAST oct! And it is pretty normal here for it to be hot even up till Halloween. The kids don't usually have to start wearing their warmer clothes till at least Nov!

I am SO loving this break though! I am really stumped as to what clothes to take for the oct trip! I know when we went in 07 it was a bit on the chilly side and it rained for our halloween party! So not too sure WHAT it will be like. Should be interesting that's for sure! :) I can't wait I know that!

I can't remember if I said it on here but I did on facebook but we didn't end up going to see HP. Shane just didn't feel up to it. SOOO we just hung out yesterday and watched the old **** tube. Although we do SO much so much of the time that sometimes it is nice just to have days like that. Tina, your day sounded a lot like ours and I LOVE days like that! :)

I agree with all of you about the Alaska cruise. I would LOVE to go someday but even with a family of 4 (Lynn would probably not go) it is still expensive. We would most likely take the cheapest route possible. I see discounts all the time so you just need to watch for sales.

There are TONS of great deals right now on Travelzoo and I am SO tempted to go somewhere. I was thinking about a vegas trip in Jan for my anniversary but they also have really cheap tix on Southwest and mom was thinking about going back to DW cuz she has 2 weeks that somehow got booked on her timeshare that she HAS to use this year (2010). I really didn't want to go back so soon since we JUST went last Nov but if we could get 200 rt airfare and she already has the room it might be worth it but who knows. The only problem is the 200 airfare on SW only goes through the 2nd week of March right now and I have a feeling it is going to go WAY up after that and since we are going on the LADIES trip the beginning of March it is not like we could go there and then turn around and go to DW the next week. SOOOO that is a bit of a problem.

ANYWAY today I have to go in to work and Lynn is working as well and then tonight we are going to mom's to watch football and so she can cut the girl's hair as they have school pics tomorrow!

Then hopefully SOMETIME this week I plan to get MY haircut and my oil changed and then this weekend it is clean clean clean! The girls have a slumber party Saturday night and then next week my good friend is coming whom I haven't seen in probably 10 years. I am really excited and next weekend is going to be a blast! My uncle is turning 90 and they are having a HUGE blowout for him. I have relatives coming from all over the world including Hong Kong, Alaska and all over the east coast and midwest. I am really excited and it is going to be a fun time! I can't wait! :)

Anyway I hope everyone has a GREAT day and week! :)

Good morning girls! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Steph, I hope you feel better and just try to take it easy!

My Mom has a job interview today at 10am. Good thoughts sent her way would be great!

Morning ladies!!

Courtney, best of luck to your mom!!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Carol, nice new car. :thumbsup2

Steph, sorry your ankle was bleeding again. Get lots of rest, and let your family pamper you so you can heal properly.

Everyone else, seems like many of us have been bitten by the travel bug lately!! :rotfl: I know I have been anyway. Now I just need a money tree like Becci said to pay for it. lol

Have a wonderful day ladies! TTYL! :hippie:

Beth, glad you are almost done with it. Me too, I am down to a tiny cough, mostly after eating. I think you're wise to pick another cruiseline because Alaska is all about the excursions.

Tina - :lmao:

Courtney - :wizard: for your mom!

Steph, I didn't read your ankle was bleeding. Take it easy.

Cristabel, don't let your roomie be a bad influence on you - you can be a good one on her. ;)

Tracey you were in a parade! How cool. Sounds like something fun everyone should do at least once.

I am doing a fast dash to DL to get something, a quick turnaround. Everyone have a great day!

Hey everyone! Heather, DD Allyson and I are doing the MouseAdventure Reindeer Games in December! And guess what? We won a 2-night stay for the event!! So cool! I can't wait!! Is anyone else going??

That's great (I'm still here, about to dash out)!!

I just heard about it and would like to do it! Goodness knows, I'm filled with Disney trivia now...:rotfl:

Ok stacielee--so how did you win the two-day stay?????

Ok stacielee--so how did you win the two-day stay?????

I have no idea! It was posted on the MP thread! But I did have my secret little angel who got us registered early... :hippie: Guess I owe her something... how about some Magicale??

Tina, I need to start saving for our Alaskan cruise too! This ladies trip in February will be my last one. Someone else will have to take over planning for the next one. I'll be eating PB&J and saving for our cruise. LOL :rotfl:

Not allowed! You must come!

I just finished looking at the concept art for the Fantasyland expansion at WDW and I'm so excited for it! Now I don't mind waiting a couple of years to plan my next trip but then again I kind of have to anyways :lmao:

Here's a link to the ideas and art

Awesome! Thanks for the link...do you think it will be up by Feb 2012?

Good afternoon all! What a crazy day so far!
Anyway I need to research this FantasyLand expansion at WDW. I saw Callies link on FB but didn't watch it yet. (Maybe because my 10 yo was too interested in watching the StarTours announcement! )
We are going to WDW in Nov 2010 and I don't want to postpone it!
That Alaska cruise really looks tempting too! Too bad we didn't have a money Tree! :rotfl2:
Someday we will go on that cruise though.

WHAT STAR TOURS ANNOUNCEMENT?????? My dh is a major star tours fan (I think it may be one of the only reasons he goes to disney with me!) Would really like to know what this is!!!! Pretty Please!!!!

Hey everyone! Heather, DD Allyson and I are doing the MouseAdventure Reindeer Games in December! And guess what? We won a 2-night stay for the event!! So cool! I can't wait!! Is anyone else going??

So cool, congrats!!!!

Less than 48 hours till we go to Disneyland! So excited and now really nervous as dd threw up yesterday for the first time. She seems to be doing ok so far today but we aren't giving her any milk for a couple days so we are try to figure out different ways to get her the nutrients she needs (14 months old). Any ideas? We are going to try pedialite and were thinking maybe soy formula? She hasn't had formula in a while but ???....
