Hi Divas:

here is the update on Dawn from her husband (I've blanked out the Hospital name etc. just for privacy sake, but can PM it to anyone who wants to know):

For some of you this is a follow up. For others this is the information you have. Dawn is quite ill and is in the hospital. She has severe pneumonia in a nutshell. This all started last month when she had the flu. She recovered from it, so we thought, and started feeling better.
We have learned the hard way what makes H1N1 so devastating. According to the medical staff at the hospital it is quite common for it to come back with a vengeance after folks think they have gotten over it. It commonly attacks as pneumonia, epically in folks like Dawn with weak pulmonary systems.
She was diagnosed with the pneumonia last week. The medical staffs are trying everything to keep folks out of the hospitals because, quite frankly, they are overwhelmed with this epidemic. The first two antibiotic treatments they tried failed. Yesterday she literally "crashed" and was no responsive. She is now out of danger and has been given a room (room ____ at _______________). However they are still having troubles stabilizing her oxygen levels. They have just hooked her up to forced oxygen system so she is unable to talk. They are fixing to run ultrasounds and CT-scans. Because of the color of what she is coughing up they are concerned about clots.
Needless to say with all the pure oxygen flowing around I am unable to use my cell phone or computer in her room. I will be stepping out occasionally to check emails and calls. I will try to keep everyone up to speed.

Oy, our poor poor Dawn. It's really serious, poor thing. She is constantly in my prayers. I hope she knows we are all thinking of her.

I know--me either. All morning long I've had one of her sayings stuck in my brain: "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" She told me that is what her grandkids say. Isn't that funny? It just keeps running through my mind.

Meanwhile, please count me in for whatever we are doing for Dawnikins. It is amazing to see just how nasty the flu can really be when so many of us take it for granted as just a simple illness. Thanks so much for keeping us posted Cheryl!

Poor Dawn...that is scary stuff! It's all over the news every day about how dangerous this flu is on the news every day but when someone you know is affected by it this severely - it becomes more real and how dangerous it really is Lots of good well thoughts and wishes and hugs coming your way!!!

Thanks Cheryl for keeping us updated. Poor Bob and Sally must be having a difficult time too. Hugs coming there way too.

nothing different from what she gets every day--she did eat a berry on the way into the office that was on the ground off one of the trees -- maybe that is it . . . . . it is BAAAADDDDDDDDDD

Even Brandy is complaining. And she was just in the doorway.

Now I have to get in the car with her . . . . (the dog, not Brandy) and I am not looking forward to this . . . .

Oh Gosh! Poor Dawn. She is always so cheerful and kind and generous running around sprinkly pixie dust and joy and happiness and light and whatnot. I surely hope that she knows we are all sending it back her way tenfold. She is just so very sick. It is not fair!

Hello all. I just read back a ways and I am also hoping the best for Dawn.
This is just my opinion but when someone is that sick I don't think they would want cookies. Food was the last thing I wanted when I had the flu.
What about a disney poster that could be put up on the wall?
