Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

I would love to meet there also!

Kelly~ The monorail isn't shut down? I can't even remember when it was, if it was if was probably for maintenance.

The monorail is still goin. We took the kids down this summer and stayed at Inn at the Market and played for the weekend. It was fun and close to home!

Hey ladies~ Long time no post. Just checking in before I get too far behind (too late :rolleyes1).

Beth- Hope everything works itself out at the dentist. I SO need to go to the dentist, but I'm afraid of what it will cost so I've been avoiding :scared:.

Jill- :flower3: Sorry Parker is going through so much. You are a strong women & a great mom to him. I pray things get smoother for you.

Cristabel- I think it only cost about $10 to get a new SIM card & to acivate it. That's how much it cost with T-Mobile about 2 years ago. It sucks you lost all your stuff.

Callie- That's great news about your mom. She's in my prayers that the radiation treatment doesn't wear her out too much. Maui sounds fabulous. I so need to get away & that sounds like a nice place to go :cloud9:.

To all the wine drinkers- What is a good red wine that is a reasonable price. I'm not a wine drinker & I'm starting to buy the drinks for the Meet & Greet, but I'm stuck on what kind of wine to get. So if anyone could please help me out, I'd appreciate it (if not you will be getting some 2 buck chuck from Trader Joes ).

 Hi to everyone else. I REALLY can't wait to see you all soon. I need this get away more than you can imagine :guilty:.

Rosa Regale!! And I finally tried the other one that is supposed to be similar, and it was YUMMY!! Not much difference than Rosa Regale, although I didn't have them at the same time  Now I can't remember what the name of it was... Have to do some searching :surfweb:

LOL--yeah, Rosa Regale would be good, but it's kinda pricey for a group.

Katie: I would go to a wine store like Beverages N More or Total Wine and talk to someone about what would be good. My guess would be to pick a red that wasn't too strong (like some type of blend--shiraz-cab maybe) and pick a white that's not too oakey (like some chardonnays can be). Perhaps a pinot grigio or a riesling (which tends to be sweeter).

Ok, so another exciting night here. I ended up having to call the paramedics and take my Mom to the hospital--turns out she had a fever of 103, which explained why she was talking nonsense and stuff! But they are not sure what caused the fever because her blood and other tests came back normal. At one point they thought she might have gout because her foot was swollen and suddenly painful. This morning her fever is normal and according to the nurse she is alert. I got in at 2:30 and didn't get to bed until 3 so am going to take a shower now and go pick up some things she needs at the house and go to the hospital.

I'm off to serve dinner, it's meatloaf with stouffer's mac n cheese with.....wait for it....my favorite....KFC cole slaw!!!! Man I am satisfied by the smallest things sometimes!

I got KFC fried chicken last week--but it was really just to get the cole slaw!

OK--I reread this and realize you are just looking for a red--there is a brand you can buy at the grocery store that is often on sale called Yellow-Tail--and I think they have a cab-shiraz blend that is pretty good.

Cheryl~ Have them check for a UTI. When the residents at my place get like that and talk nonsense they usually have a UTI.

I agree with the wine, Rosa Regale is very tasty, prolly my fave red, but it is very spendy for a big group.

As for white, I prefer a riesling. I usually buy Milbrandt  although, I am not sure if it is available down there. But COlumbia Crest is good also.

Thanks Deb--that was my thought too last night and they checked--no UTI. I've just been googling gout and it is a possibility given her symptoms. I called this morning and they are moving her into a private room for isolation because of the shingles (I guess if you haven't had chicken pox you can get it from someone with shingles).

And I'm with you--I prefer riesling over any wine if I can't have Rosa Regale or Magicale. I am just not a red wine drinker. I haven't tried the Milbrandt--will have to look for that--I like columbia crest too.

Yes, probably more than we want to spend! And I also like a riesling, although some are more dry than others; I like the sweeter ones. And what about Arbor Mist? That's usually pretty cheap and they are not too bad.

Hope your mom is doing better, how long will she have to stay in the hospital?

Me too.....or me five! :yay:

That would be fun, count me in too :thumbsup2

You mean like the fruit mix wine - like Chardonnay peach, blackberry Shiraz - that kind of thing? We get those in the summer because they are not "in your face" wines, way cheaper than Magicale (though that is still my fave!!), but serious wine drinkers probably don't like them. Kind of like a wine cooler, but noncarbonated :thumbsup2

hmmm...I wonder what it could be?
I hope they figure it out soon.
Did they check for shingles? It is not fun!

I will pack a bottle of Milbrandt with me. Long story short, Hot older Guy, his dad and uncle own the winery.

I love how I have nicknames for peeps....:rotfl2:

A girlie trip to Seatown!!!!!!!

19 days till our trip! I bought my bag of candy for the meet and greet today...one step closer. Hey CRISTABEL...were you able to get the HOB tickets?

Later,

Good afternoon!

I called Disneyland's lost & found and they did not find my SIM card. :sad2: It's going to cost me $19.99 + tax for a new one. I also need to get a new phone :sad2:

Cheryl - hope everything is ok with your mother and its nothing too serious.

Bummer Cristabel about your phone. Did you have insurance?

Yeah, those are the ones. They have 2 new sparkling wines, Peach Sparkle and Raspberry Sparkle. Haven't tried those though. And what's wrong with wine coolers?? I sometimes like those more than regular wine... The Exotic Fruits White Zin is SOOO good!!

Afternoon all.

Deb I was talking about back in 04 or 05 when they had a fire on the monorail and had to shut it down for like 8 months. We went up there to visit when Shane was deployed and it was shut down and there was a "rumor" that they might not reopen it but obviously they did. I haven't been back so I wasn't sure if they actually did but glad to hear they did. I loved it and so did the girls. And LOVED shopping at Westlake. :) If you guys ever do a Seattle trip and it is a time when I could go I would DEF be up for it. I LOVE it up there!! :)

Cheryl sorry about your mom. I hope she is feeling better. My 90 year old uncle has shingles and suffers from it a lot. I hope she doesn't have that!

Gosh I can't believe how soon the trip is. I am SOO excited! Only a little bit left to do still. YAY!

We went to the basketball game and took back our movies from last night and got a few more so since the weather is so crummy we are just kicking back and having another movie day. Lately it is my fav thing to do. Yes I am lazy lately LOL. But I am looking forward to getting out of the house and visiting with my divas and hoping for good weather. I hope all this rain gets out of the system before then!!!

Have a good rest of your day everyone and talk later!

So when can we expect to be able to print out our nametags? No rush, just trying to get an idea so I make sure not to forget to do it!

We are in the teens people! And soon we will be in the singe digits! This is surreal!

Courtney, her mom, Donna & Vicki just left. We all got our shirts / hoodies done and blinged out. They look super cute (even if I do say so myself).

It was really fun having everyone over. I think we all got more excited for the trip while chatting, making our shirts and eating lunch.

To all the wine drinkers- What is a good red wine that is a reasonable price. I'm not a wine drinker & I'm starting to buy the drinks for the Meet & Greet, but I'm stuck on what kind of wine to get. Also to all the wine drinkers, my DH goes on woot.com to check their daily offers. Well there is a link off the right for winewoot.com. We sent this to my mom & she now checks it daily for her favorites.

Cheryl - I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I hope they can figure it out soon.

Cristabel - Did you have insurance? Try looking on ebay for a replacement phone. When are you eligible for an upgrade?

Callie - Glad you had a good time!We are waiting for the DVC to open up in Hawaii before we go. Prayers for your mom.

Hi Sarah. Sorry, but my dh hasn't gotten around to it yet. After vacation, he came home to a slammed schedule and needs to dig through his inbox first before helping me with the Diva stuff again.

I'd say we'll have them ready to print out in the next week or so. Thanks for being patient. :goodvibes

Hi ladies!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. It's lovely here!! Rainy, cloudy, gray and a chilly 51 degrees. :goodvibes We went out for a drive this morning to enjoy the weather. If only it would last.....

Anyway, just wanted to pop on to say hi and check in.

Michelle ~ Good to see you. And good luck with those cookie sales and the job hunting. :wizard:

Jill ~ Also good to see you. I don't think you've missed anything important. Your comment about feeling like family at your dentist office made me chuckle. I do believe I am going to feel the same way with mine before long. Whether I want to or not! lol

Cristabel ~ That sucks about your phone and sim card!! :sad2:

Melody ~ I hope you had a great day with family. Heck, I know you did!! You guys always have great family time. :goodvibes

Tina ~ How was the baby shower? :cutie:

Katie ~ I agree, you do need this trip, and I cannot wait to see you. Good luck with the wine shopping. I have no advice on that subject. haha ;)

Patty ~ Find that pic! LOL We'll have to take lots of you on the trip. I never used to like to be in pics. NEVER. Then I realized one day about two years ago, that if God forbid something should happen to me, my family had almost no pictures of me. I made a choice then and there to pose for more photos no matter how I felt about the way I appeared in them. :)

Cheryl ~ I'm sorry about your mom. I hope she starts to feel better soon. My first thought was also a UTI as that is what happened to my Great Aunt. But since you said they already checked that......hmmmm, I don't know. I just hope she's better soon.

Kelly ~ Enjoy your movie day. I love just kicking back and watching movies too. It's fun. popcorn::

Sarah ~ YAY for being in the teens!!!!

Kerry ~ I'm so jealous! Sounds like it was a very good day with Courtney, Felecia, Donna & Vicki. How nice of you to open up your home to everyone. Any pics of the finished product? :)

Everyone else ~ Have a great evening. Ruben and I are going out later tonight to see Frank Caliendo. He's a comic and I have no clue how funny he is, but the tix were freebies so if it sucks we aren't out anything. :thumbsup2

Later!!
