I'm up late, as usual. I can't believe our trip is only 12 days away. I'm so excited!

Morning all and happy Saturday!

Well last night I tackled my iron-ons and I really liked how it turned out so now I have decided to go back (hopefully today) and get a couple more. They had some bigger ones that I am thinking about getting for the back since it is SO plain and since I don't have the one you all have and then my mom bought this really cute sparkly diva one that she is putting on her red shirt and I thought it would look REALLY cute under the pirate I put on the front. SOOO I am hoping to do that. I had a little tink transfer that I got from the stocking exchange and I followed the directions explicitly but after ironing it not once but TWICE since the first time when I tried to pull off the paper it didn't come off. It didn't work! I don't know if the transfer was just not good or what but now I am even MORE glad I didn't attempt ours. I didn't want to ruin my hoodie and I feel WAY more confident just ironing on patches. So my shirt won't match but will have the same theme and hey no one is going to notice in the pics anyway!

Then the girls and I went to girl scouts and the first hour they just did a water conservation themed event and then the 2nd hour they had their ice cream party. It was just OK. I thought we were going to have more of a "party" besides what the other troop brought but whatever. I DEF could have skipped this but at least we are done now with meetings again till April. Our leader said she is concentrating on cookie sales which for us site sales start next Fri. I told her I was WAY too swamped getting ready for the trip and everything else to do it BEFORE the trip and then the days I was available AFTER were already taken soooo it doesn't look like the girls will be selling cookies this year. This doesn't hurt my feeling LOL. This is my LEAST fav part of GS. I will be glad to be honest when they get too old to sell them and we can concentrate on other things. We used to do lots of fun council events etc but we haven't done that in a LONG time!

Anyway then we just came home and watched a little tv and had a campout downstairs which we do quite a bit on the weekends. We all sleep on the couch/floor downstairs in the family room so it is fun! The girls really get a kick out of it and they bring their pillows and blankets down and our house is so inefficient engergy wise that this is the warmest room of the house so we spend most of our time in here.

Anyway this morning we have the basketball game and then Shane wants to get his hair cut so we may go to supercuts today instead which is FINE with me although saturdays are really busy there but we shall see and then I am hoping since we are right there I can run back by Joanns. Then Shane said he would fix the tags for me (it requires the use of tools) so we may run by my parents place to pick up the stuff and if Shane does that I may work on the tags today. Otherwise not much else planned. Then tomorrow we will prob go to church and the girls have Awana and then still unsure what is on tap for tomorrow. Shane is insisting on going out so we prob will keep our ressie at Mac Grill and if we decide to still do a movie I think we will still see Valentine's day. Like I said I like to reserve judgment and make my own call. I like most of those actors and even if it isn't that great I wouldn't mind seeing it just to see most of them.

Then as I said Monday Shane has off so hopefully we will take the girls to see Percy Jackson. So those are our plans for the weekend.

I hope everyone does something really fun and has a good one! ((hugs)) to all who need them and just think girls next week we will only have a week left!!!

Morning everyone! I have a pretty full weekend. I wish I had more time to catch up and follow the thread. Ugh! Hate that I can't access DIS at work. At least I could post on my lunch hour. Marty and I are off to Santa Cruz today for a pre-Valentine's Day date. We're going to go to our favorite restaurant on the beach and then walk the Boardwalk. Maybe I'll be naughty and have a chocolate-dipped soft serve.

Well, I hate to say it, but I think I will only be able to attend the trip on Thursday and leave Friday afternoon.

My year is not starting out too great & the worst thing is I got in a car accident yesterday & my car is not drivable (I have the worst luck with cars lately ). So to even make it on Thursday, I have to rent a car (which wasn't in the budget), but I have a lot of things to bring for people and I don't want to miss the meet & greet so I'll be there for Thursday & Friday afternoon.

To my roomies- I'll still pay for the full 2 nights because I feel bad canceling with such sort notice.

To my Scavy team mates- Sorry to abandon you.

I'm praying something miraculous happens so I can still attend as I planned, but for now it's not possible. I'll keep everyone updated if things happen to turn around.

I'm just very upset right now because I needed a break from reality so bad.

I am finally off work...I have 2 whole days off in a row!

YAY!! Enjoy them! Sounds like you do have some fun things planned.

I haven't been down to the beach area in a long time. If it's too cold then we may not go. The weather here has been crazy and fickle lately.

It can be fickle, just not hot.

I'm really busy and in need of regular sleep but tomorrow is my Disney volunteer day. I will read to 1st graders (Knuffle-Buffy, book 2) and if I can keep my eyes open, I'm really looking forward to it!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this. Stupid cars!! Was the driver insured?? We still have yet to fix our van and I doubt we will. At least no one was injured.
I'm so sad you can only come part of the time. Maybe something can be worked out and you can catch a ride. I don't know, but don't give up hope yet.

Happy weekend everyone. Just wanted to give hugs to all who needed them and let you all know that I am working on making the phone list small, but readable. I won't likely post much the next couple weeks (not that I do anyway). I got handed 2 new projects at work that must get some accomplishments completed before June. Cheryl ~ prayers for your mom and obviously for you, too! Seems like it comes in droves sometimes. My dad is in a really nice place, too bad he doesn't appreciate it though. We did look at one that also had the cocktail hour before, nixed that one right away, he's an alcoholic and doesn't need that temptation.

LOL--she hadn't been there 24 hours and had a Mimosa yesterday at the Valentine's Day party/lunch. But she didn't eat because she had a late night. Don't know how she's doing yet today--had a massage for my leg (still painful) at 9, then ran back to the house to get Bella and check on Brandy (who moved in last night--she'll be staying until a few days after her surgery on Tuesday--the pain is incredible--but at least she is staying quiet and not moving around much, which is incredibly HARD for her!! LOL) I'm at work now catching up on messages/mail and some work, then running Bella home on my way to see my Mom. I'll probably start looking at facilities tomorrow. I am just exhausted ladies. At some point I need to do laundry!

The u/s went well, and she really showed off! There is absolutely NO DOUBT that she is a she!!! I'm sooo happy to be getting my princess. She has grown so much in the last two weeks. What a precious little girl she already is. She was curled up in a ball, and did a couple of flips for us.

YAY for girls!!!!!! Brandy always says "men can come and go but girlfriends are forever!"

Callie, Your poor dad. My Dad and Sister have done the same thing. After I saw what my Sis went through, I vowed to never worship the sun. I always slather sunguard on my face everyday.

Yes! I did it today. The organization is called Reading to Kids. I don't know if it's beyond Southern California, but it's a terrific program. We had around 180 kids total today. My first grade group was 6 adorable - each one was truly adorable - kids. I wish I had brought special stickers for them. After the orientation, we were paired up with someone who has done this before. Then we took our kids into a classroom. We talked and read, and then we did some little exercises (suggested), and then craft time. Each child got a free paperback book to take home. They were really well-behaved (until they got back to the auditorium to leave - one girl told me one of my 6 year old boys kissed her. I asked her if she was all right and she said yes).

One of them hugged me before we started crafts and said, "I want to be by you." Awwwww.....

I would do this again but if I make the time.

I'm sorry to hear your sis and dad went through skin cancer. You are wise to use sunscreen - I tend to forget it until summer and it's important to use it all the time.

What a wonderful thing to do. We are being economical this year and pretending it doesn't exist. I actually want to watch the all-stars basketball game on tv that night. (he doesn't).
