It's been so wonderful seeing old friends again and meeting lots of new Divas.
Thursday lots of us met at Rancho Zocalo for a tasty lunch and spent time catching up and trading travel stories. Afterwards our sea of lime green shirts made its way over to PoC where we discovered that a pirate boat holds exactly 22 DIVAS!
Interestingly enough, many of us (especially those of us in front) found the pirate journey to be especially wet on this voyage. Afterwards we naturally split into groups and did fun Diva things until the Meet & Greet, where exhausted, everyone just showed up in their PJ's.
The meet & greet committee did a fabulous job. The icebreaker game was fun, and we got to learn so much about our fellow Divas. The tables were done up beautifully with all the slumber party necessities - bags of popcorn, candy and snacks, bottles of bubbles, big beautiful rings, hair accessories, beautiful nail files .. anything a Diva could want. The pizza dinner was really good, I especially enjoyed the veggie pizza.
The candy buffet was amazing (and delicious) and Cristabel totally outdid herself by making each of us our own individual candy bags, with our name and picture and they all decorated so very beautifully!
Thank you Cristabel, that was a totally awesome surprise! (and I have no idea where you found the time to do it all!)
There was a fun pillow case exchange and the creativity of this group of women never fails to amaze me. WOW! They were beautiful - and the game was very fun. A thank you to Beth and a moment of silence for Dawn rounded out the evening.
Friday the Divas, now dressed in red shirts and tiarras, met at PFF for pictures with the princesses. Tink33 and I met them after the pictures and joined in for the trip around the world at It's a Small World. It took 3 boats to transport all the Divas, and thankfully they didn't sing all the way.
Afterwards it was over to Captain EO, and to be honest, it was a cheesy as ever, but still a fun 'blast from the past'. It was a natural time for the group to start splitting into different interests. Some went wild at Space Mt. and others of us went to buzz. (level 4 here). A little shopping and then some of us wandered through the hub and were greeted by a beautiful display of spring flowers.
Spring Tulips
Me and Tink 33 are in front of the hyacinths. They smelled soooo good (but were full of bees)
Off to Big Thunder, which didn't have much of a wait, and then over to CA Adventure where a lot of the Divas (in their red shirts and tiaras) had lunch with the princesses at Ariels. Lesley and I opted to enjoy the lobster nachos at the Cove Bar, and afterwards we went to TSMM and were pretty evenly matched. A little more shopping, and then we were both on our way home. Most of the Divas went to Animation Academy to 'learn to draw' and then I'm interested to find out who actually went on ToT and who went over to Monsters Inc. Either way I'm sure they all had a blast.
Saturday It's raining here in San Diego. I have to work today (which is why I came home) but I'll be back up at DLR late this afternoon. I wonder how the Divas will enjoy the rain today. It's scavvy hunt day. I hope it lets up so they can enjoy the wonderful adventure that Wendy, Cheryl, Melody, Linda, Bree, and Callie created for them. Have fun, everyone!
See you all again soon! Save me a spot for fireworks tonight.
