Hello ladies !

It's been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to at least check in real quick and let you all know that my new DD was born on 12/29/08  . She was a little late, but at least she was born before the end of the year for a tax deduction .

Her name is Laila and as soon as I have another free minute, I'll post a picture.

I didn't read all the older posts so I hope everyone is doing well so far in the new year :grouphug:.

I'll talk to you all later :)!

CONGRATULATIONS!! How awesome! I love the name. It is so pretty.

And Happy Birthday, Laila!

I look forward to seeing the picture! Babies are so awesome.

Congrats! It's always when hubby is dreading meetings that he has a loss like you did. :)

I've done the same thing weight-wise...lost a bunch, met Robert, gained weight. We both joined, lost a ton, got married, I got insta-pregnant and gained a bunch (despite eating almost nothing due to massive food aversions), lost a bunch in the 2 weeks before I could start back with WW, lost all but 5 pounds to get to wedding-weight, then sat there for a year. Finally quit, and have been hard at work in gaining every last bit of it back.

But I'm still not motivated to go to WW, and I'm not sure why.

Hubby has been going for quite awhile now, but the recent diet changes he made since getting a diabetes diagnosis (though with only food and exercise changes he now has constant blood sugar readings that would challenge anyone to make that diagnosis now) helped to kick-start his loss and he's much happier now!

MamaKate, congrats! Pretty name!

Ooo, I am sorry to hear about your DH's diabetes. That is actually what scared me into really taking my weight seriously. My weight is centered around my waist...to close to my heart. My doc is astounded at how healthy I am, despite my weight. He does give me a dose of reality and tell me that if I don't get rid of the weight, my risk for disease rises. I wish your Dh the best in getting back into shape.:thumbsup2
When you are ready, you will go back or do something on your own.

Congrats! I am so glad you posted. I was thinking about you today and was gonna ask if anyone had heard from you and how the baby was. Glad to see all is well. Can't wait to see a pic.

He's actually doing spectacularly. He got pretty sick the week before being diagnosed, and had to do some soul searching while he decided to ONLY do diet and exercise (instead of using metformin as a crutch in the beginning, as he was urged to do), but it's been AMAZING. If he didn't tell a new health care provider, and they did the a1c test in a month or two, he would not be diagnosed with it today, that is how great his levels are.

And our marriage is better because, it turns out, he has MASSIVE emotional outbursts when his blood sugar is high. Since he realized that and has leveled everything out, his mood is so so even. Lovely.

Some discoloration that he had on his neck and shins is disappearing...we'd noticed that and when I looked it up I was reminded (I took a derm class in chiro school) that the skin darkening is related to blood sugar issues.

He should be making an appt with his endocrinologist again, for an a1c (it checks how your blood cells have been dealing with glucose for a certain period of month) and follow-up, and it's going to be so cool. Let's just hope his nurse doesn't miscalculate going from kg to lbs again though! She miscalculated and the doctor BELIEVED her and refused ot believe hubby. The doctor was saying DH was 70 lbs heavier than he is, and hubby gets that weight from the WW scales... and then the doc tried to say that WW isn't for very heavy people so their scales are off. Bwa ha ha. Then we heard them recalibrating their scale outside the door after we put up a fuss. 70 lbs heavier than he is, grr.

That is great he is doing so well. AND it is great for you that his mood has stabilized.::yes::
I think I would cry if I was told I weighed 70 pounds more than I do.:faint: WTHeck is wrong with people?

HEy, um...are you doing a trip report for the ladies meet? Just curious. I do love your TR's.

Beth, hope you are doing alright tonight. :grouphug:

Katie, congratulations on your baby girl. I love her name and hope you will post a pic soon!

Cheryl, some details about the day you spent parks today with Stacie, Allyson and Wendy would be nice. :hyper: Photos too? ::yes::

actually--I didn't go with them today--I'm going tomorrow. But they are home and had a fun day but they are TIRED! The lines weren't too bad, it was warm (but not 102 degree warm) and they had a great time. Wendy thinks she may have blisters on the bottom of her feet and Stacie managed to put holes through the big toes of both of her socks! They rode most rides they wants: Space, Big Thunder, Indy, Soarin--some with fastpass some they didn't need it. We are meeting Stacerita at 8 a.m. tomorrow and go in--Stacie can get hre birthday gift at City Hall she confirmed to day! More tomorrow!

I am looking forward to hearing all about it.

Have fun today ladies!!

Is anyone in our group doing a Pre trip report for our girls trip? I would love to read it!

Hey, there Sarah!
I don't think there is a pretrip report being done by anyone at this time. I think that this thread can be looked at as one huge pretrip report written by dozens of ladies.:upsidedow

Have you booked your airfare yet? I am still looking. I can't find anything under 260.

Hmm, hadn't thought about it...

Agreed. But now you've got me thinking...

Very true!

I booked my airfare a couple months ago. I got it for 250 including everything, but I did see it get down to like 160 after I booked.

Sarah

If you booked through Alaska, you might be able to get credit for the difference (if you're within a certain time since you booked). Might be good to call!

JetBlue and Southwest also give credit if the prices are down since you booked...

Daisy where are you coming from?

Ooo, I would love to see airfare that cheap. I have flown to Orlando for less than what it costs to fly to So Cal.:rolleyes2

I am going to give it a couple weeks...

Hey, Molly! I am coming from Boise.

I was thinking of doing one. I almost started it yesterday while I was laid up in bed, but then I just didn't feel like it.

:rotfl2: True! But this thread can be daunting so I'm not sure how many actually read it. I don't know. If I'm bored today, I might do one just to keep me busy.

That would be awesome! I would love to read it!

Happy Sunday everyone!!! :)

I was able to get some sleep last night so that helped a lot. I took a shower this morning and was able to eat some pudding and applesauce. Not the same as a taquito but it's all I can manage right now.

The bleeding appears to have stopped, but my jaw is sore and swollen. I'm still taking the Vicodin and antibiotics. I have to rinse 4-5 times daily with warm salt water. ICK!!!! :crazy2:

I'm still supposed to be taking it easy, but you know I can't sit still for long. I did some laundry, and a little light cleaning in the kitchen. Ruben was off yesterday, today and tomorrow so he's helping. And my inlaws are coming over again to spend time with the kids.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good weekend!!
