Girls Only Disneyland Trip - Old Thread

Hmm...Well, I am thinking. After the scavenger hunt, I am footloose and fancy free and that Cove Bar sounds darn good. I'm thinking hit that place and then head over to Fantasmic and jump on Beth's blanky at the last minute. Of course I would have to buy her one of those pink drinks and poor it into a water bottle and smuggle it into DL, but I think I could manage:thumbsup2

shhhh--let's not tell her there's alcohol in it . . . . . :smokin:

Ok Molly and Tracey--we know where we'll be Sat. night. And I should warn you -- to be a "big" girl--I'm a lightweight--so if I start saying "I can't feel my face" it's probably time to get me out of there.

and Heather==I'm old --so I get the "Shirley Temple Black"-- LOL

If I'm not still drunk and hanging out on the balcony of the club, then I would love to do the cove bar....I think. I'm a little worried that I have so much planned, that I won't see much of 'Disneyland' at Disneyland. KWIM??:rolleyes2 (I love that new smiley!)

I do however need to keep my energy up to play. :joker:

I'm thinking Wendy might need to bring a few extra Red Bulls for me.

Oh, and if I get too many drinks, I might slip back into old habits....:smokin:

I must be good...I must be good...I must be good...

Yes, it is important not to "overplan"--I'm actually thinking I might be really bad at some point and take a book, buy a latte from the cart and hang out for a 1/2 hour or so in Carnation Gardens . . . .

I make my Shirley Temple's with vodka and lime and call them Shirley Temple Black's (how old you are is how likely you will get this joke :) )

OK - that sounds yummy. Maybe I should not admit this - but I have no idea what you mean by Shirley Temple Black..... Hint??

I'll definitely be planting myself at Carnation Gardens at some point on Saturday evening to watch the Jump, Jive and Swing dancers.

Poor doggie.

Sounds like it's time to GET one of them there annual passes....don't know where Palmdale is but if it's inside the proper zip codes you can buy a one-day one-park, then upgrade to the lowest so cal AP and upgrade once more for the trip (to a deluxe if you don't want any of the trip blocked out ... I noticed that both of the so cal APs have the Sat blocked out)...or do the monthly payment plan....:upsidedow

According to Mapquest I live 1 hour and 37 minutes from Disneyland. I've really been thinking about getting an Annual Pass...

I think Shirley Temple's married name was Shirley Temple Black. So, her 'grown up' drink with alcohol has her 'grown up' name. ;)

Did I get it right?

How does upgrading work? I can get a Southern California Annual Passport for $174 but it's blacked out on the 7th of March. If I spend $149 for the 3 day park hopper so I can go on Saturday can I upgrade on Sunday and pay only $25 more?

I've never had a Glowtini--they look scary. :scared1:

No, not scary...... They are dangerously GOOD!

You have to upgrade before you use the last day (or on the day of last use), so if you go Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, upgrade on Saturday, and you're good for Sunday.

You mean a Glowtini?? They are yummy - and the glowing cube is fun. So I like pink drinks and blue drinks ;)

I can't remember the name of it, but it wasn't the glowtini. Probably the same cube, just with the button pushed a few more times.

If you don't want to go before your tailgate thing, your idea sounds really good except for the day. Just buy a hopper for the March trip, and then on the blocked out day, enter, go to the AP center and upgrade. As a courtesy when you buy or upgrade an AP they let you stick around for that day, so it would work out very well, I think.

"PINK DRINKS ARE EVIL!!"
But, but, but pink is so pretty!

With my luck I'll pass out and not see any of the show I just sat there for three hours waiting for. :rotfl:

Beth close your eyes....Robert and I are close to Fantasmic-dislikers.
:sad1: Such cruel words. What did poor Fantasmic ever do to you??? :sad1:

I don't drink alcohol but if i am still around on sunday night I am down for some BBQ chicken pizza and a shirley temple.:thumbsup2
I think you need to just stay until Monday morning. You can catch an early flight out. I'll wake you up at 4 a.m. :rotfl:

I can't go on Saturday though because I've made prior arrangements for people watching and butt parking :thumbsup2
You can go Saturday night if you want. I mean, don't feel like you are stuck butt parking if you'd rather not. :rotfl2:
We can do two nights at Cove Bar. One on Saturday for those who don't want to do Fantasmic, and one on Sunday before heading over to the fireworks. :thumbsup2

I am so excited about this trip! :cheer2: I just love reading this thread and you all make me smile all day. :) This is going to be FUN!! :cool1:
Yep, it is!! :cool1:

I'm a little worried that I have so much planned, that I won't see much of 'Disneyland' at Disneyland. KWIM??:rolleyes2
In between all the planned activites stick with Callie. She's a mad woman when it comes to DL and will make sure you see it all!!

and Heather==I'm old --so I get the "Shirley Temple Black"-- LOL
I didn't. :p I've never even seen a Shirley Temple movie.

What??? A book????? Reading at Disneyland? Nuh uh. Not gonna happen. :rolleyes1

Well, that sounds a little more fun then reading. :rotfl:

You should!! I hope you do! pixiedust:

Yes assuming that you're arriving on Fri (which I think is what you said you were doing--but see Molly's comment below).

Molly--the only issue with that I see (and I don't know the answer) is if she upgrades to the AP on a blockout day is she allowed to park-hop on that day? I'd hate for her to miss out on Cove Bar if she wanted to go! LOL

She can upgrade on a blockout day AND parkhop. No problems!

LOL ladies--now that I'm pretty sure Stacie and Wendy are on the road, I can tell you about the great cupcake debacle.

So, I wanted to make birthday cupcakes to welcome them to SoCal. First I made Chocolate--except the nifty cupcake holders I bought were too big for my muffin tin. "No prob" thinks I--"these cupcake holders are pretty sturdy--I'll just put them on a cookie sheet and fill em up." Uh--no. When I looked next, I had a mass of chocolate cake interspersed with random cupcake holders. Oh well--plan B. (the cake was good though, but how would I know that?)

Ok, let's try white cake. And this time we'll use cupcake holders that fit in the muffin tin. Everything was great--but they SHRUNK!!! I mean these things look chintzy. So . . . . .

Plan C. I'm on my way to Albertson's. It's all good.

It's what I've always heard!

Molly, that drink is cool. :thumbsup2 Is that the one that cost 10 bucks?? Yikes! Fun though!

10 bucks, oh yes. No price on the menu at the table. Hubby told me to go for it (he thinks I'm fun when I'm tipsy, and one drink'll do that now) so I did. Took about an hour to drink it...I think it had rum? I know it had some sort of organic mango (or something) puree...it was GOOD.

Whew. I'll go with DM on that.

:lmao: Like they care about chintzy cupcakes. Cheryl, you're precious! Hilarious, but precious. :rotfl2: :goodvibes

OK, I'm taking all of your advice! I'm sneaking out early! I should be on my way by noon. :hyper: :wave2:

:drive: Wendy on the road to DLR.

Speaking of drinking, Miss Callie, was it you who mentioned going to the Cove Bar? Or was it Linda? Or maybe it was Stacie...... Good grief my memory sucks!! LOL

Anyway, even though I am not 100% sure I'm going, I am still in full planning mode and I was looking at our schedule.
Low and behold, I noticed we don't have a dinner planned for Sunday night.

Now, that afternoon is the Wine Country Trattoria and the Club 33 meals, so I'm guessing people won't be starving.
Soooooooooo........I was thinking doing the bar that night would be perfect. And a nice way to spend our last night in the parks. Chillin with some appetizers, drinks and good friends. :goodvibes

Does this sound of interest to anyone?? :confused3

I will be down for a drink or two. Count me in.

:lmao:
OMG, you and Stacie said the same thing. :rotfl:

Great minds think alike.

Final lesson, Scream'n probably should not be the next stop after the Cove Bar :lmao:

Got to remember that.

Ooh, I'd be up for the Cove Bar on Sunday night - never been and would like to go. I like pink drinks ::yes::

That is so sweet of you. Albertson's does have some pretty good cupcakes. You should ask them if they have any fresh in the back too. Sometimes they have some in the back that they haven't frozen yet.
