Man am I last minute! I noticed this thread again on Monday night, convinced my husband I should take fairycat's VIP this morning, got the day off confirmed from my mgr, and now going to DL! I LOVE living this close! I am planning to be there Thurs night (traffic dependent), Fri, and Sat morning. Just going to put this out there, if there is anything with an opening on those days, let me know and I will try to fill it. :thumbsup2 (esp the scavenger hunt. Extra incentive - my team has won MouseAdventure before)

Welcome! I'm so jealous by your spontaneity. I wish I could live like that. I'm a type A planner. I've already started planning my move in June 2010! :rotfl:

KerTggr... You're so Cute! Welcome Aboard! We can put you on a team for the scavenger hunt. I'll talk to Miss MelodY.:goodvibes

I don't think there is a spot open for the scavenger hunt though....*wink* *wink* This DLR virgin stands NO CHANCE of winning against a mouse adventure winner! ;)

OK, OK, I'll be good....

Hey! I just noticed that my pizza party check was not cashed. I'll pay up tomorrow if you didn't receive it. I mailed it out with the photopass check (cashed), and Sarah's ENT card (she received). I'm sorry if you didn't get my check!

Aww that sucks. I hate it when that happens. But I've seen how cute you are and honestly, I can't imagine you ever not looking great.

Sarah: you're so cute that I'm sure it looks adorable! But bummer, I know--the good thing is that hair grows!

You guys are way too nice! I guess it's not that bad, but it's just not what I wanted. I'm going to dye it tonight just not sure in the color yet...

CHERYL--I've started packing...do you want me to bring those two books on St. Martin/Maarten and St. Thomas? They aren't too big and they are quite useful.

In answer to your questions about ports, we used a company in St Martin called Bernard's Tours. He does accommodate wheelchairs, but not scooters. You can get private tours with him. We really liked the tour which was led by his business partner John. Also, in St. Marteen port, you can get off this ship and shop at some stores and kiosks right at port (specifically built for cruise passengers) and the area is very clean and nice. I didn't see much right at port at St. Thomas, though there was shopping and that tram up the mountain not far away. There was just a lot of traffic in St Thomas right at the port that you might not want to navigate. Bernard has a colleague in St Thomas who also may be able to do private tours with someone in a wheelchair. Might be worthwhile to investigate.

Just wanted to make sure that I answered your questions.

BTW, are you going to go to WDW for a night or two while you're in Orlando?

ALL--I've pretty much finished washing clothes and am ready to start packing. The sun has finally come out here, which is making the idea of travel a little more enticing. I'm so bummed that I won't be able to meet you all for the pizza party on Thursday, but I'm not complaining. Two days at Disneyland after all the Disney I've done in the last month is a VERY good thing. :goodvibes

Oh, and health update: My eyes seem to be clearing up on their own, but DH is stopping to get eye drops anyway. Just so you all know that I will not be bringing pink eye along to DL to share. :sad2:

It's almost quittin' time. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow and see you guys on Friday!!! :woohoo:

I'm always up for cheesecake! Or shopping! Or better yet, cheesecake AND shopping! :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Yes, you are last minute but it's all good. If you are able to make it to the Meet and Greet pizza party on Thursday night that would be great.

Friday we are all meeting in the morning at Princess Fantasy Faire for pics (do you own a tiara, lol) and then the VIP tour will commence from there.

Saturday morning there is room on the character breakfast meal. And the hunt is afterward, and we'll let you know what team you'll be added to.
Let me know if you have any other questions. And welcome! BTW, what's your name? :rotfl:

:cool1: :thumbsup2

Now I am getting excited about this event. If there is room anywhere let me know as I would not mind trying the scavenger hunt, I have the character breakfast and Ariel. If mom is happy and not a pain then back to the parks in the evenings to help out with Fantasmic and do the meet and greet at HoJo.

Mom is like me but 10 times worse with the hypersensitivity and watches how I spend money then blames me. Everything is by ear as I have massive bruising still. See the stanchion and see the ECV with my leg squeezed in between. Food allergies may stop me also.

This sounds so fun and I am finally getting out of the house after over 3 years. Free at last. where is the food, lol. :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

OK, OK, I'll be good....

Heather! Callie and I are on your team. We're going to be a group of Alice in Wonderbras commando-ing thru the park! We got this thing in the bag!

Anyway........I'm finally home from cooking all day, and I just have to write up one more proposal. Then I'm officially on vacay!

Good! I have spirit yes I do! (even if I have no knowledge!) I have my running shoes packed! :thumbsup2

I hope they don't pull the bananas for your DS's sake--maybe the peanuts on them turned out to be part of the recall?

And there were many short-sighted accessibility things they did on TSMM. The stair thing is just ridiculous. and then they make this huge accessible area, with waiting benches and everything, and make the area where you leave the wheelchairs and scooters so small you can't manuever and make the exit hallway so tight that you end up hitting the wall--oh and you dump out into the store and many times there's someone right at the end that you have to avoid hitting! Not great designing at all.

Yeah...it's probably the peanuts, but gosh, don'cha think the affected ones are completely gone and eaten by now?

Wow that's just crazy! Obviously the designers didn't have anyone in their lives who might need that area yet. I have a friend whose husband is an architect, and despite many plans for city buildings, it took him until they had a baby to realize that the MEN's room might need a baby changing table too. Had never put one into plans until he was directly affected by something. Great for the farmer's market in Olympia...not so great for all those other buildings!

You guys are way too nice! I guess it's not that bad, but it's just not what I wanted. I'm going to dye it tonight just not sure in the color yet...

Dis Lime Green!!! :rotfl2:

Take disunc's avatar as inspiration!

I have to share my bad design story with you.

The hospital that I work at just opened a brand spanking new multi million dollar building. This building houses the new neuro units-med/surg, tele, icu, and a couple neuro OR suites. They also house the new women's and children's wing. It is 5 stories tall.

The building is beautiful, it's almost done, they have their first inspection, and they fail. Why, you ask?

Because they forgot to build any elevators into the plan!!!

A hospital with no elevators....:lmao: I'm sure someone got fired over that one. It set the grand opening behind by two months. They also ended up not being able to move the bariatric unit over there as planned because the elevators it ended up with were too small for the bari beds. :sad2:

NO. They did NOT do that. Oh.My.Gosh.

I gotta tell my city planner friend about that! Oh gosh.

Hello Ladies!!! It was a great day today - VERY rainy, but very fun!! I was so brave, I actually rode on Space Mountain not once, but TWICE :cool1: I was even brave enough to go to Blue Bayou by myself with no PS!! I had been scheduled for Carnation Cafe, but it was closed today because of the rain. I came back to the hotel early because I was soaked and getting cold (don't want to get sick!!). I'm shocked how some people don't dress for the weather. I saw kids in shorts and tank tops in the pouring rain!! Yikes.

I can't wait to meet everyone tomorrow! Safe travels to everyone - can you believe it's almost Thursday??

I'm.......

READY TO GO!!!

I'm glad you'll be able to join us for the breakfast and Ariels. :goodvibes As for the hunt, we'll have to get the official word from the hunt planners, Melody, Wendy and Dawn, but they are pretty good about fitting people in.

Anyway........I'm finally home from cooking all day, and I just have to write up one more proposal. Then I'm officially on vacay!
:cool1: Yay for vacay!!
