Cheshire, what are you afraid of, that could be passed by a bite and is also something that there's a vaccine for?

To calm you down, remember...no vaccine is 100%. I have a friend who has been vaccinated for various thing probably 10 times, b/c she's in a liver transplant program, and she is NOT immune to any of it. Her titers are checked routinely. She is not immune, despite being shot up often.

And if YOU believe totally in the vaccines you've given your child, then you shouldn't worry. If you don't believe that they are 100%, then that's a problem with the vaccines, not with the kiddo in that family.

Bites get nasty b/c mouths are nasty. Not because they have things that vaccines might prevent in them. It'll be OK.

I'm so glad DS only ever bit ME. I knew "a biter" and it was so hard to be around him. But some kids do it and others never do...it's a weird thing, the biting. Also glad DS grew out of it (the only times he ever did it when not teething, it turns out, were related to the corn syrup issues we figured out when he was 3...it would put him into an absolute RAGE, and biting was the only way to get the feelings out, poor kid).

I guess I'm worried because our ped was concerned about whether the child had been vaccinated or not. And, it hit me by surprise when I found out that the child that bit him wasn't vaccinated because in my naivete I just assumed that the kids at his school all were vaccinated because it was required. I never even thought about kids getting religious exemptions because that is just not something that I had not personally encountered yet. I have friends who have vaccinated at a slower pace, but except for one friend who is convinced that there is a link between juvenile diabetes (her husband is diabetic) and vaccines, they have all vaccinated.

sean connery...need I say more?
Nope.

Spoke to Jim the guide and he apologized for anyone who got calls and said he's put a stop to them. He also wanted to know what kinds of goodies he should order and I told him we were going to CC first, so hors d'ouvres-y thingies would be good and something sweet was always appreciated . . .
He sounds like a good guy. Thanks to him and you for doing this.

I just got called into a meeting with the head of our team for the same time I'm supposed to be on my flight to Long Beach next Friday.
Say what?!?!? Noooooo! Call in sick. :rolleyes1

OK, except for we do have a patterned couch in front of a fireplace...more of a marble rather than a brick, but still. That was kind of freaky. Especially since that's where I'm sitting right now, and things get sucked under the cushions all the time and the packet of pictures could very well be hiding there.

I'm scared!
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Stacie B. and Stacie F., I mailed my money yesterday. Thank you for being patient with me!
Crap, crap and crap. I keep forgetting to do this! I'm going to owe them interest pretty soon. :sad2:

Before I get started, I just want to thank you ladies again for your thoughts and prayers.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: My Sister did really well, and........................

They were able to get all the cancer out!!! I am so thankful!!:worship:
That's awesome news!! I'm so happy. And thanks for the reminder on the PAP. I can't recall the last time I had one. Probably 7 or 8 years.

I got something for you today.:rolleyes1
You bought sheets?? :yay: Do I get a matching pillow case? I can make a hat out of it.

Seriously girl, you better not be buying me nothing! That's beer money you're spending!

We had a crazy busy day, but I guess that's what happens when you're an adult!
It does, doesn't it? Let's not be adults anymore. Wanna be kids??

I don't know who has it but please PM me the phone number list so I can start adding #s
Cristabel, I know Cheryl said she PM it to you, but let me send you the updated one. I had some people accidentally give their home # and had to make some adjustments.

Hey all! I feel like a bad bad friend, but my mind has been elsewhere. I did get some things in the mail today for the trip and that made me very happy! :yay:
:thumbsup2

So, I have a call into our ped's office but of course I have not heard back from them yet. And, I am freaking out--researching and worrying about what he has potentially been exposed to. And, of course, Dave thinks I'm overreacting. He's a great husband and dad and the fact that he is more grounded and mellow than I am is a good thing 99% of the time, but tonight it's pissing me off!
Ugh, I'm sorry you are dealing with all this.

Very OT---(sorry!)

I rented the Changeling the other night after Beth said it was pretty good. Well, the movie was excellent! I loved it! I highly recommend it.

Not to give away too much...the area where the little boys were imprisoned was at a farm in Mira Loma. I grew up less than 3 miles from that VERY farmhouse. I did some research and the location of the farmhouse was at Limonite and Hamner in Mira Loma. Our home was literally, a block off of Hamner in Norco (North Corona). AYe!!! Creepy!

That is crazy how they renamed Wineville to Mira Loma just because of the crime committed.

IF you have seen the movie, you'll know what I am talking about.

Oh. My. God. January, that is so creepy!! I was going to research that farmhouse some more because I bet it's one of those places people think is haunted. I mean, 20 kids killed there. Come on. You know how people get about stuff like that.

Unless it's not there anymore. Or maybe no one knows about it since the town name was changed and all.

Do you remember ever seeing the house?

No, I know there is an empty field there and across the street from that is a strip mall with a safeway. Last time we were down there we just happened to be in that area and it looked the same to me as it had when I was a kid. Hamner is a pretty busy street. It is an access road to several freeways down there...the 10 and the 91. Knowing that something so heinous happened so close to where I lived just gives me the creeps. KWIM?

I just thought it was weird since I had never even heard about that crime. I mean, that is the sickest thing I had ever heard....well one of the sickest and it was the first time I had heard about it. I watch a lot of crime shows, too.:confused3

All in all...it was a great movie. Very sad. Thanks for the recommendation.:thumbsup2

Hi All. :wave2: . I can't respond to all of the talking today but from everything I've read it looks like we all need a big :grouphug: . This time next week we'll be filling up on candy as the pizza will probably be gone by now....:rotfl2:

So Selena got her braces today. It took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. She did really well while we were in there. Within a half hour though she started saying her teeth hurt. We took her out for lunch and she had mac 'n cheese and a big bowl of ice cream (that seemed to help her a bit...at least she had a smile on ;) ). When we got home we gave her children's tylenol and she said that the pain wasn't the same but she could still feel it. :sad2: I'm hoping that she's feeling a bit better in the morning. I'm going to give her more tylenol before she goes to school tomorrow.

So besides buying my tiara today I also found a poncho pocket thing at Wal-Mart so I got that too. My kids decided that I needed SpongeBob Square Pants PJs and my dh agreed. :goodvibes So here I sit in my bright yellow pjs, it's quite humourous but I must admit they are comfy. ;)

Talk to you all later.
Steph

I did buy you something.....for crying out loud, it's not sheets, skinny girl!......and I have plenty left over to buy beer!

That would give me the creeps too. It is odd it was never talked about. But I guess everyone wanted to cover it up, hence the town name change.
I thought it was a great movie. I'm glad I watched it. And now you learned something new......and freaky. :rotfl:

I hope she feels better in the morning. Better stock up on ice cream.
Glad you got your tiara, poncho and Sponge Bob jammies. :thumbsup2

Well ladies, I'm going to get my kids in bed and watch some tv. Ruben is off tomorrow so we are going out to lunch while the kids are in school. Talk to ya later.

Poor thing!! I wore braces and I know the pain she is talking about. It feels like a huge weight on your teeth and gums (at least that is how it felt to me). The pain will fade. Although, I must tell you that when she visits her orthodontist every month, he/she will tighten the wire and it will be sore again for at least an hour. Just an FYI!:thumbsup2

She will be so happy when she has a beautiful sparkling smile! (Although, I am sure she already has a beautiful smile.)

Tip-----Make sure she wears her retainer! I didn't and now my teeth look just the same as before braces!:headache: I do have straight bottom teeth thanks to the permanent retainer.:thumbsup2

I hope you all enjoy your SB pj's! How fun!!

As for me, I am semi-packed for a mini-trip to DLR with Mom this weekend . . . and will be hitting the sack soon. So if I'm not around much this weekend you know where you'll find me!

I'm so very sorry you're going through this stress.

I hear you on this one. I am still vaccinating Nolan, but much slower. I allowed him to get one shot on Tuesday. I'm just sooo scared, and don't know which side of the issue to believe right now.

I really want to see this movie!

Me too!

I hope everything works out Jane!

Beth, we could go halfsies on a sheet set, I'll take the bottom and you can take the top. However, having two of us there like that would constitute a toga party, and I'm not sure everyone else is up for that!! :lmao:

I completely understand your decision especially given that your boys reacted badly/weirdly to the shots, and I am glad to hear that you are going to be working on a catch up plan now that Luke is a little older--that makes sense to me. Where I get lost is the parents who decide that they aren't going to vaccinate at all for whatever reason. But, I am trying hard not to be (too) judgemental given that I have no idea what this family's rationale is. I am just in mama bear mode--yesterday I was worried about Ty's boo boo and getting him on the road to recovery. Today I am mad that he got hurt at all, and the lack of vaccines is just kinda the icing on the cake of an all around bad week.

I'll get over it soon enough... After all, a grudge is a heavy thing to lug around, and I will have enough junk in my Disney bag that I can't carry around the extra weight next week!

Hi Everyone:)

Cheryl, I got your Valentine today and the envelope was ripped open and Aurora was really pretty on the card in spite of the giant hole ripped next to her where someone STOLE MY LOLLIPOP! I was so happy to receive it but so sad the sucker was gone. MAN! Thank you for it anyway. :) When are you going on the cruise? Bree and I are going over Labor Day. I cannot wait! Of course, I bought the minimum and will only get the 3 day cruise, but we already booked at BLT to go with it! :thumbsup2 The flights to Florida are way too long from the west coast to not stay for at least 5 nights.

Dawn totally cracked me up with the tight jeans and fudgeicle joke. I think it hit home with so many of us because it is true! Talk to you all tomorrow:)

Oh, and just to add, if I can put my size 16 bathing suit on my fat-you-know-what and waddle into the jacuzzi for enjoyment with my friends, all of you can, too. No being embarrassed for being fat - it is not allowed! We are all beautiful women and let's just enjoy the Hojo, Disneyland and each other for all it's worth!:cutie: And yes, we love all you Skinny-Minnies, too.:)

And Beth, I simply do not believe you are still a 3X or even a 2X, I think you are a 1X in denial.

Heather and Capri - you girls are not alone. I am really on the fence with vaccinating. My oldest are fully vaccinated, however after Jack was diagnosed with autism I decided to do things differently with my youngest, Ethan. Ethan had all his vaccines until he turned a year, then I stopped. I figured it was better safe than sorry. He just turned 3 last month and I am now going on a slower schedule to get him caught up before he starts Kindy in 2 1/2 years.

Jane, I know it's hard but please don't worry about Ty. I am sure he will be fine. Can't wait to see you again in a week!

Before I get started, I just want to thank you ladies again for your thoughts and prayers.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: My Sister did really well, and........................

They were able to get all the cancer out!!! I am so thankful!!:worship:

It pays to get your pap smear ladies. Because she was faithful with hers, the cancer was still in the early stages and had not spread outside of the uterus to the the blood vessels. So please be diligent on your once a year visits!! :thumbsup2

No ride whimps allowed! J/K!!
I was wondering how long you were going to be around?

 That's terrific news about your sister! Yea!

I will be there sometime before the Ariel lunch princess: (not sure what to do, I might duck in DL or see if I can find any more Vinylmations), then stay through the end of the pizza party, tote exchange, and drive home (it's about an hour). The AP I'm planning on picking up on Monday won't be good on the weekend and Friday my DH is off and wants to see Watchmen, so Thurs is probably my day with you guys. I'm really looking forward to it. :yay:

Wow you guys sure have been chatty. I am caught up ( I think) but won't comment since it was really way too much.

I am needing some prayers and pixie dust for my BFF. Her DD was born 3 weeks ago and they just found out that she has VSD, a hole in her heart. They were actually lucky to find it when they did. If not, she probably would have gone into congestive heart failure. Normally they would wait until she is older to correct it surgically, or it self corrects. But the hole is so large it won't. So the baby will be having surgery sometime tomorrow. So good thoughts would be wonderful. Thanks!

I'll admit, I'm not good about getting my annual pap smear. Not good doesn't really describe it......honestly, I haven't had one since I was pregnant with Luke, and he'll be six in June.:rolleyes1

Please do keep up with the annual pap smear. My mom didn't go for years and ended up having a Uterine fibroid and they had to remove her whole uterus (this past December). She's still recuperating.

I STILL need to get my braces but I've been lazy about finding an ortho.

Yay for spongebob Squarepants pjs! I have this taffy green one that has cupcakes on it. I just bought it from wal-mart; I thought I'd better wear some real Pjs with you guys  No need to scar anyone!

OH, please PM your address so I can mail you the check for the pizza party. It's $10 right?
