Hello Ladies,
Happy news for me, as I am always scheming for another reason to visit the parks you know. Just found out that my work's leadership conference will be in San Diego Oct. 19-21. I will be finished fairly early on the 21, and am thinking of heading up to Anaheim and going into the parks, and then going in on the 22 before flying home that night. So, it would be Wed and Thurs for me in the parks. Will they be closed early?

Hi girls! I just wanted to drop in and say hi! Busy, busy day today, and I'm exhausted!!!!!! I didn't even read bakck, but I hope everybody is doing OK. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.
Night-night!

Got this in an email today (again). It was one of those pass it along kind of things. I liked it and thought I'd pass it along on here before going off to watch some tv:

By the time the Lord made woman, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"

And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart -and she will do everything with only two hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model? That 's too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish.

"But I won't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.

The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Lord corrected, " that's a tear!"

"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride."

The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing."

And she is!

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends.Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Please pass this along to all your
women friends and relatives to remind them just
how amazing they are..
Thanks for the reminder of how special us women are. At disAbilities I have a dear friend who fits that to a tee. Very well put.

I am sorry I picked on the tag fairy and took my frustrations out on her. I am hurting on the inside and outside and took it out on her. Thanks for the tag, Tag FAiry and sorry for ruining your lovely tag. Are their second chances in life as I need one or two tonight.

Those charms sound really cute! It just amazes me how many people have family and/or friends that are on the autism spectrum. I just wish we knew why! :confused3 My 5 1/2 yr old son has a diagnosis of moderate classic autism.

Oops... i posted on the wrong thread! i'm *so* not the techie.

Our youngest granddaughter is 4. I'm encouraging my daughter and her husband to keep her out of kinder this year and i'll work one on one with her.. we will see what they decide.
I know they have a dilema as she is a twin but her brother is just so much more mature and he's already reading, writing his name and family members names. she's just moving a little slower.

I have read all the posts put a multi quote together, and POOF:wizard: it disappeared!!

So, I am sorry for everyone's troubles and tragedies of late, it is amazing what happens on a day to day basis.

I am on my third migraine of the last week and a half. I have tons of food triggers, but these I fear are hormonal...freakin' menapause. I need to get a new doctor, mine is no longer in my network. I hate looking, it's such a gamble.

I made it through about 3/4 of my day...then I came home to bed. With my job..it is a bit tougher to go home sick, because if there is no vet at the vet hospital..there is no money coming in. I am just an employee...so doesn't make for a good review/happy boss.

Ugh...I have had little luck with the various "event" type drugs for my migraines and have been hesitant to go on anything that I have to take all of the time as I used to get a migraine every 2 months or so. 3 in 8 days. Not happy!!

Oh, and I can top all of your stripper names...how can anyone forget mine...

OKRAH!!!!! Yep, green and slimey, often served fried.

I feel so hot!!

You need to talk to bookwormde who has aspergers and is a sweet man. at disAbilities we notice that autism and other neurovariantions run in families. My mother is super hypersensitive and I am also SID and hypersensitive. People on disAbilities say the apple does not fall from the tree and see generations of neurovariants.

Until recently neurovariants were just the crazy uncle, the weird cousin or the neighbor's child who does strange things. Talking to parents of autistic children often brings out stories of relatives who had quirks. For 80 years my mother was the weird one and not very popular i life but now I am helping her evolve.

There is talk that autism and neurovariationss are genetic in nature. Mom is full blown and I have a normal father and am lesser in degree. Check out the disAbilities board for some interesting discussions on autism and nuerovariations.

I am thinking green!!!!

Sadly I am more of a Dansko kinda gal than the stripper shoes that Beth so favors!!

I'm dating myself, but in junior high I had a pretty groovy pair of green EARTH shoes!!

Those would be hot with the name Okrah!!

Oh, and thanks for the well wishes, I am feeling tons better, haven't thrown up since I got home from work. It was my surgery day at least, so I didn't have to make super nice nice with clients!!

AMySUe

I remember earth shoes... What about YoYo's..did you ever have any yoyo's?

Yoyos, chinese jump rope and click clacks!!!!

Then in highschool it was skin tight calvin Klein jeans.

Man, I am getting old!!

AmySue

Right along with You, OkraH!

I remember those clicK CLacK thingies... wow it's a miracle we survived childhood.:rotfl2:
