I know exactly what you are talking about. After a few nights in Vegas, I probably start sounding like Lurch anyways.



It was fun. Another friend was doing penny slots. He started screaming "I won, I won, I won' and hoping around. Yeah, he won a whole $16. It was just fun to goof and play around.

I love penny slots--video games for adults! My favorite used to be "Turkey Shoot" but I think those are long gone now. Played it once for eight hours straight on the same $20.

Yeah, for you, you'd be going through Bakersfield. That's how my mom, when she lived in Hanford, would go.

But on the 15 the two typical stopping points are in Baker (Gateway to Death Valley, home of the Mad Greek, the World's Largest Thermometer, Alien Jerky, and not a whole helluva lot else. LOL). And also Barstow, which coming your way, you will miss the stop we usually take which is where the outlets and all the fast food is.

As for the Phantom seats, did you go to their website and see the interactive seating map? http://www.palazzolasvegas.com/phantom_seating/index.htm

That gives you a good idea of what you'll see from your seats. However, I will say that we were up in the balcony, middle section (Row E, I think), middle area. Our view was fine. And after the show we walked down stairs and stood down below to check out the view from down there and I personally preferred being up higher. So Mezzanine is fine, as long as you aren't too far back.




Fridays are referred to as Get Away Fridays since that is when everyone is "getting away" for the weekend and coming here to Vegas. And Sundays are called Going Home Sundays obviously because everyone is going back home. (Real original, huh?)
But it's true and the later you wait to arrive on a Friday or the later you leave on a Sunday, the more traffic you will hit. If you add a holiday in there, expect that to double or triple. That's what happens when there is pretty much only one way in and one way out.

If I leave Vegas on a Sunday (which I avoid like a plague--will usually stay over till Monday for this reason) I try to leave no later than 8 a.m.--and even then there can be traffic jams.

Hi everybody--I've only read back a couple of pages while I choke down a Del Taco shrimp taco. What a day! Lots of stops and starts and phone calls with emergencies--SOP for the day before vacation right? Biggest crisis was that I couldn't get my laptop to connect to the INternet no matter what we did. After being on the phone with Dell for an hour it turned out to be a simple fix (of course). That was an hour I didn't have to spare! My BFF--who's a computer whiz--was going to come in and figure it out but we got it working right before she was scheduled to come in. If she couldn't do it I was going to have to beg Joe the computer guy to come to the house tonight.

So, the good news is that now I'll be able to give you guys updates while I'm gone; the bad news is that I can do work (in fact, I already have a conference call scheduled for Friday. )

So now I'm trying to get the "must do's" done so I can get out of here, pick up (and pay the hospital bill ) of the cat and go home and finish packing the carry-on! Then up at 3 a.m. tomorrow to leave by 4:30 a.m. to get to the airport by 5 a.m.!

This time tomorrow I should be in Orlando! And hopefully within 26 hours from now I'll be in DTD enjoying a cocktail somewhere!

Neuorvariations cannot be cured as the brain is miswired. The only answer for autism, SID, OCD, ODD, ADD, etc is very early training and therapy. The same thing may have to be repeated 100 times before there is a micro step. Over at disAbilities we party hearty over them tiny steps like wearing a new type of shirt, eating new foods, or potty training at age 6.

The goal is to get the baby ready for life so that when they are 30 years old they can live a near normal life. To work in a job one must have social skills, fine motor skills, and be able to solve real life problems. Occupational therapists help the infant to grow properly and deals with any weakness in muscles as well as the early socialization skills that for many neurovariant are underdeveloped or seem to be lacking. You probably have seen that with me on this thread and at the Diva meets.

i'm flying into john wayne tomorrow.. to spend the weekend with my friend while my DH goes to meteor crater and a petrified forest with my Dad. We are going to hang out and maybe go stay the night in L.A. and have girlie martini's and spa it a little. My mom is going to play in her garden..she loves flowers.

i'm so haPpPy ..southwest airlines now has a flight from el paso to john wayne and it's with one stop no plane change.. yahoooooooooooooOOOoooo ... HaPpPy DaNcE HaPpPy DaNcE... no changing planes in phoenix and no getting my luggage lost in phoenix

WendyLouWho... have the bestest time in san francisco.. i *Love* san francisco... the De Young museum is sooo wonderful..and the Legion of Honour... simply stunning exhibits touring and permanent. ooooOOOhh and Dim Sum ... reaLLy super great Dim Sum in San Francisco! Safe Travels, babycaKes!

I've only read this last page, after getting offline last night.

Friend went in for transplant surgery at 5am. I'm not there b/c the surgery could be 12 hours, and I'd rather be there for her later once she's not in surgery, rather than for me today, and I know that my days that I can be there will be limited b/c of E. My phone is at full volume, her sisters are emailing (one from her law office as she gets updates) and texting (the one at the hospital) me. It's so exciting, b/c assuming all goes well and she doesn't reject it, she'll ultimately be healthier than I've ever known her to be! But of course it's scary, to have this come up when she's not actively sick (she's sick enough, with bad enough numbers, to be on the list, but she is otherwise living her life), and to *choose* to take this gamble.

Hope she's out of surgery soon...

Yes, but if she's at a really strong stage in her disease process right now, the chances of her doing well are much greater. I think it's great that she can get it done while she's strong. I hear what you are saying though, it's like cancer. My dad felt great until he got treated, but it's the only path to the healthy side of life. I'll be sending healing vibes and prayers her way.

I wish I knew what my friend's level of health really is...since she has her boyfriend and she and her sisters are getting closer as they all get older, she doesn't talk about it to me as much as she used to. She dropped by on Robert's birthday, and when she left hubby commented that she was looking more jaundiced than usual (she's always a *bit* yellow), but I hadn't noticed it. When she was really sick back in '03 she was nearly neon and her eyes looked like a cat's, it was scary.

I do that with my prom dress! It's such a pretty pretty dress! I sometimes put on my bridesmaid dress from one of my best friends wedding, that one is pretty too, she let her bridesmaids choose the dress, so very nice of her and no butt bows!
