So I went to my grandson's birthday party tonight. :goodvibes He turned 3 years old. :sad1:

Dave and I got him a few presents of course as all loving and wonderful grandparents would do.

So he opens up the one that is an "Indiana Jones" whip. Oh my goodness.............it was so cute. He ADORES Indy Jones. So this whip is really made for little boys, and is very soft and easy to whip, and it wouldn't hurt a fly. So he's carrying this thing around constantly whipping. He won't give it up. It makes fake whipping noises, and then plays the Indy Jones theme song. I think he will probably sleep with tonight like a stuffed animal. :cloud9: If you have little boys, this is a really cute toy.

Awwww, that's so cute. My five year old (Luke) loves his Indy whip too! It sounds like the same one you gave to your grandson. He plays with it all the time. We also got him an Indy hat to go with it (they were Christmas presents). I thought that by now he would've lost interest in them, but he still plays with them all the time. I agree, it's a really cute toy for little boys.:thumbsup2

We are booked for Oct, but I seriously may go for an early Dec weekend, too. :cutie:
We're booked for Oct too.:yay:

You don't want to take one for the team?:upsidedow

 :scared:

I know I don't. But this is a large group of women. One may take one for the team.

Don't even think about looking at me. Just because my name is disney-super-mom doesn't mean I'm popping out munchkins left and right. Munchkin maker IS CLOSED! (At least it better be.....my mom threatened my hubby with his life if he.......ummmm......well, you know.)

That is during mom's birthday and I keep convincing her that she will have a BLAST!! Who couldn't have a blast with US AND at DISNEY I mean COME ON! :)

You're mom just HAS to come! You two were so fun to hang with! And it'll be her birthday too?!......well now she has no choice......She's COMING! :woohoo:

Morning ladies!! Just checking in before running off to take the twins to school. See ya later.

Good morning Beth. Thanks for all you do!

Awww... you guys are going to have fun on MouseAdventure. I think there are three teams from the DIS, right? Tink33/Lesley, Califgirl/Chris, Daisuke/Kelly (my daughter), and I have played 5 times, I think - since November '06, and we're the DIS Divas. :) Sometimes we do really well, and sometimes not so well, but we always have fun.

One thing we learned - have a good meal before the game - hence breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. There is usually time after the game, before they give out the prizes, to have dinner. Kelly laughs at us cuz last time we played we went to the Cove Bar afterwards and ordered three appetizers and drinks, and we finished everything.

I also recommend very comfortable walking shoes, and make sure you have water. We rarely stop to buy a drink, so we always make sure we have water to carry. Last year, Spring, it was about 100º and I didn't drink enough water. It wasn't a pretty picture :sad2:

Is anyone up for meeting on Saturday?

Oh, and I want to play with you all in December. :) It looks like you guys are going to be at the parks during the weekend of the Candlelight Processional (if they have it the first weekend).

I saw the candlelight processional for the first time last Dec. It was beautiful! In all my years of going to DL somehow I had never heard of it. and seeing John Stamos as narrator was a nice treat for the eyes!!! But the crowds were unbelievable. It was so bad by late afternoon people were being escorted behind the shops on Mainstreet. That was fun, but cast members were lined up like soldiers keeping an eye on everyone.

Where's my camera?!?
Better find it and keep it handy! I have a feeling in Vegas those two (Stacie and Debra) are going to provide us with lots of photo ops! :rotfl2:
Uh, make it those three and add Wendy to the mix. :rolleyes1

Michelle,
Cheryl made our reservation already. 8 am - party of ten.
See you then.;)
That's going to be so fun. I love the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. I hope we all end up doing that one next year as a group since I can't join y'all in April. Take lots of pics of everyone doing the hula dance. lol

Just because my name is disney-super-mom doesn't mean I'm popping out munchkins left and right. Munchkin maker IS CLOSED!
Tag fairy....... wherefore art thou? :wizard:

But the crowds were unbelievable. It was so bad by late afternoon people were being escorted behind the shops on Mainstreet. That was fun, but cast members were lined up like soldiers keeping an eye on everyone.

For all of you who collect/trade Pins there is a Pin Exchange going on, on the Exchange Boards. Here's the link:

Pin Exchange

It's alot of fun. My mom and I have participated in quite a few.

Hi all!

I am finally caught up! Sheesh you all talk and talk and talk...:)

Kelly---I am so sorry to read about your troubles with Lynn. It sounds like she found herself a nice crew of friends there.  Is there anywhere you can have the school send out the SRO (School Resource Officer) to look for her as a runaway. She can spend a few days in juvie and maybe learn a valuable lesson. I know that sounds harsh, but sometimes tough love is the only thing that works. I feel for you and your family. I will be praying for the best outcome for you.

Hmm....I know that there was more to say. Next time I will have to take notes on what I want to say.:rotfl:

Beth~ whatchya sayin???
Ummmmm, I'm saying that you are a Princess princess: and Stacie and Wendy might be a bad influence on you. Yeah, that's it. :rolleyes1

Hey January, good to see ya!

Well ladies, I'm outta here. I've got to get ready to go pick up all the kids early from school so we can make it to Adam's finger therapy appt. All they had was a 2:00 time. :headache:
Then I've got to pick up Ruben from work, and tonight sometime my mom will be here. She was in CA for a wedding, and is flying back to MI tomorrow out of McCarran so she's spending the night here. Not really enough time to do anything, but it will still be nice to see her.

Talk to y'all sometime this evening. Have a good day! :)

Thanks Deb and January! Yeah I wanted to say so much more this morning but I was running late. Actually the funny thing was that everyone thought it was mainly just us butting heads and the whole wicked stepmom and all that so that is why she went to live with my parents but like I said "hate to tell you so" but the MINUTE I went out of town she came over here and shane was at work and she went and stole moeny from us. I wasn't even HERE!

THEN, my parents gave her WAY too much slack. Didn't believe half of what I told them and on and on and when I got back from my trip and I found out she had stolen the money I found out that she had been sneaking out almost nightly on THEM. She couldn't WAIT to get out of here and from under my watchful eye cuz she knew she could sneak one over on the "old" people. They trust her more and aren't NEARLY as watchful. We found a note saying that she had been sneaking out and drinking and getting high almost every night and now her grades are down to almost flunking. She had perfect attendance now she has a bunch of cuts and unexcused absences which "I" will have to deal with since I am her guardian.

Now the last straw is her sneaking out but she got "caught" so when she figured that out she tried to pull this crap saying that she "planned" it to get away. Yeah whatever. If you "Plan" something you would take SOMETHING. You wouldn't go without a coat in your dress shoes with NOTHING! She had no ID no backpack no extra clothes NOTHING.

She can't even pick up her paycheck tomorrow cuz she can't try to cash it without a picture ID eventhough I stopped that from happening anyway.

I see what you are saying Deb but I talking to my Psychiatrist yesterday and he thinks she may be bipolar and may need MAJOR therapy so he wants me to go through the school system and try to get IEP or try to get residential care IF we can even get her first. I agree I am not trying to just give up on her but I also have to have sanity as well and she has literally driven me to the brink with her behavior. I am in therapy myself for the crap she has pulled and one of my therapists told me I am supposed to just sit there and "let" her do it cuz she is just going to "do it anyway". Well sorry but I can't live like that. I wasn't raised that way and I can't live with someone coming and going as they please and ignoring me all the time and doing NOTHING around here. It doesn't work. We are like oil and water her and I and it just a bad combo. Maybe cuz we are both suffering from mental issues I don't know but something has to be resolved cuz we def can't be in the same room together cuz it causes major friction. And the little girls DO look up to her but that is not the image I WANT them to look up to. When she was hear watching them she told them to [edited]when they tried to get around her when she was on the phone and she talks to them about all her sexcapades and lets them watch R rated films and they have seen and heard WAY more than they need to concerning her. They unfortunately have been here all the times the cops have come beating our door in including the middle of the night.

They had to wake US up at 4:00 a.m. when they brought her home wasted and we were too tired to wake up. So THEY probably need some counseling about it as well. It is just bad all the way round!

Wish I could respond to everyone, but you all are just too chatty!

Then no drinking the night before lady.

Actually, we might do better on MouseAdventure if we're a little "buzzed"

Cheryl,

Somehow that frightens me. So, maybe we can't wear our tinkerbell shirts, then we would look like the 8 of us are plotting together?

And,aren't you supposed to be stressing about your trip? If you take me along, I can drive up and do your laundry tomorrow, I have the day off!! I even iron!!!:rotfl:

Oh, and my favorite restaurant is Spoodles....I LOVE the appetizers...have some hummus and other dips and the appetizer salad, and I am HAPPY!!

AMySue

I think wearing the same t-shirt won't be a problem as long as we ignore the other team. And I am stressing about the trip--in between stressing about Mom, the cat and the work I'm not getting done. And did you hear that they are CLOSING Spoodles (so happy to brighten your day). Luckily I will get to try it before it goes. Cat Cora is putting a Greek place in.

I talked to Califgirl/Chris about MouseAdventure and it made me realize that I will be WAY WAY WAY out of my league. I think it will make the scavenger hunt seem like a coloring book!! (our team was confident and 7 of our answers were wrong!!)/

BUt, we will have a blast, I think. If nothing else, there will be a lot of laughing!!!! Stacie and I together tend to get a bit unruly!!

NO fair that Cheryl is sending stuff out after her trip, unless our team is getting it too. If that is so, golly Cheryl, you are the best, and a vision of radiant loveliness and darn smart too!!!

AmySue

Yeah, MouseAdventure will make the scavenger hunt look easy. And yes, I planned to send it to both teams! Geez! And I'm glad you're so observant!

I am sure it will be fun no matter what. :yay:

And I do believe Cheryl is sending out info to all eight of us. Maybe we can all have dinner when it's over? Someone said there isn't much time for eating and L&S will only hold us over so long. BTW, DH is joining us for b-fast. I told him he gets to meet all my friends. He said as long as Minnie is there, he's cool. Last time Minnie totally flirted with him and even sat on his lap. Cheap thrill, I guess!

So . . . . Minnie did a lap dance with your hubby? And you want him to go again to this breakfast?

If you ever figure out how to have it all, please let me know!! I want it all too. lol

I'm curious, why does your oldest need braces again? I didn't think kids needed them twice! :scared1: (My DD needs braces which is why I ask.)

I know you are sad.
We had a very large group last time. 43 ladies attending is pretty darn amazing, and makes for a lot of fun.

However when it comes to picking dates, if you really think about it, odds are someone will always have a reason why a certain date won't work for them:
Won't have the money by then
Have a prior work commitment
Have a family trip planned for then
It's a holiday and too busy to go
Weather is too hot or too cold
It's a husbands/kids/parents birthday or anniversary or wedding or whatever.

See where I'm going? Meanwhile you've got people who need to know the dates asap so they can arrange their work schedule or their spouses work schedule. Eventually you reach a point where you have to say, okay, this is it. It's nothing personal. It might not be perfect for every single person, but it works for most and all we can do is hope between now and then the friends we made will all find a way, somehow to join us. :wizard:

(I'm not very good at expressing myself online so I hope that came out ok and everyone is able to understand what I am trying to say. )

Beth: I do understand. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that AmySue and Tracey will still be able to come with us.

Ah, our own thread, where we have Total control and make all of the decisions and pick the dates. Interesting.:worship:

Then we can TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!

Insert evil maniacal cackling laughter and subdued lighting here.

Our wedding was planned after being engaged for one week. Romantic proposal that, and I quote exactly," I'd marry you if you want". Yep, made me melt!!::confused3

But, as for our thread. Do you think if we title it, Bitter Babes of DL, anyone would post, or do you think that that is a bit too off-putting?

AmySUe

I think that will make it the #1 visited thread on the Dis!

Who's making the Lilo and Stitch reservation? Or has it already been made? Count me in!!
I'm heading up to Cheryl's the entire weekend, too.

Michelle,
Cheryl made our reservation already. 8 am - party of ten.
See you then.;)

I made it for 10--but with Linda's hubby and Jane and fam I may need to increase the reservation? Can someone let me know?

I am one sick puppy but will report in.

We need a new dryer which means three loads of laundry takes 5 to 6 dryer loads if the door does not pop. Mom was ready but all of my pants were in the dryer still wet to damp. I took everything out and dried one pair but they were still wet damp, cold butt.

I had to drag the spare wheelchair out and up into my office, I am typin gthis iwth my eyes closed as I am so tired. Then backed the car round the house and loaded mom up. I did not cash the 89$ Apria check but instead drove to DLR. Traffic was ok most of the way and we left about 9:40. I CANNOT STOP ITCHING AS I TYPE THIS.

Got to downtown disney lot at about 10:15 and pushed mom all the way to the street that separates downtown iwth the hotel. I hit a lip on the driveway up into the hotel and bent the left front wheel holder. Mom nearly fell out of her chair. It was very cold and windy. I went inside and a nice security dude talked with mom while i got her the Register newspaper for eighty one cents.
We then went through the lobby and past shops and guest services to Goofy' Kitchen.

We were second in line and in about 2 to 3 minutes spoke to a lady and she noted that I needed to see the chef. We sat down and I told a guy about tender rides on the trin, His kid was tired after being up since 6 am and having done MM. We were called and did a picture with pluto and he kissed me and then mom on the head. Cost me thirty four bucks, och but mom thinks she looks like her mother and she does, going to give pictures to her sisters. Getting up did not help the chair that would not move and mom was flipping out over the chair not moving then worried all the rest of the time about chair.

sat back down then in abot 4 minutes they took us toward the middle and up a ramp. mom had a view of the window with the flowers and pool outside. it was isolates and rather nice not to have bratty parents running around your table.

chef was from jalisco and took a while to get him to make sure soy free meant as I did not want van's waffles. nicest waiter brought tea and coffee with real cream or milk.

I got mom two egg omelette with ham, peppers and chese that was stringy the way mom likes to play with it, lol, kid at heart. Got her roast taters, rice pilaf, diet syrup, a tiny mickey waffle and mickey pancake, a sausage, bacon,

I went to get my food after bringing hers. I had cheese enchilada, roast taters, raisins, salad with field grees an ittalian dressing and tomatos, one sausage, four bacon stripsthin slice of ham with a cherry and bit of pineapple.

Chef brought out a pretty plate with three tiny mickey waffles and two mickey pancakes, some grapes on the stem and the pretties pair of strawberries cut into the shape of roses.

I then brought later mom a syrup cup with chocolate and vanilla soft serve ice cream iwth a couple drops of chocolate and strawberry syrups but no topings were present not even nuts or sprinkles. I got mixed soft serve and chocolate sauce.

Mad Hatter came by and was charming but I had to tell him that mom could not see or hear him, like DOH STUPID, person in wheelchair so could you kind of stand in front of them. Got the photos then payed for them. Goofy had stopped by earlier before we got food and before the chef came out.

Pilse was up from dairy. Poshed mom to bathroom and ran in for a quick pit stop. Pushed her through the hals and stopped in the shop and got her a mug.

i have food allergies and normally would not have exerciesd.

We hit that bleeeeeeeppping lip and the right front tire popped of. an employee near by would not help so a stranger tipped mom back while I popped the tread back on. kindnesss of strangers.

by now i am puking sick from exertion after a full meal and the mucs was building from dairy and I was raling pretty good, every breath was hard and rattled. spitting a lot but I got my mother to a seat then sat down. Thjen I got up and ran at high waddle and left mom outside ESPN zone as I had to xxx right then and there. I made it barely and got to watch sports while setting like the queen of England on her throne, lol.:lmao:

A lot of urping because of the exertion and I needed water but instead took mom home. I had the usual fliping out because of bumps as I was pushing the chair, sigh. parking was free and nobody was on duty. the five freeway was a mess and several accidents along the way, took a long time to get home.

I now will take a long nap and sleep for ever.

i will be fine and it is just dairy reactions. Mom got the mug for me because it has eeyore on it. She got me something, wow how nice of her. did not like how one employee talked to me and not to mom, like she is there and the elder so talk to her. i often yield in convos to her asshe needs to talk to people.

cost was free otherwise it would have been over $60 without AP or other discounts but tips are includes. one damaged chair, me happy as a pigeon setting in a grain silo. more ouchies.

mom is happy so very hpapy.

I made it for 10--but with Linda's hubby and Jane and fam I may need to increase the reservation? Can someone let me know?

I made my own PS for my family (but also for 8 am on Sunday) as I would not wish dining with an 18 month old on any of you! But, I will definitely be bouncing over for some "girl" time!

Good afternoon ladies!:wave2:
I finally caught up! So glad the dates are set and are already on my calendar! :cool1:
My routine is a little different this week because my 5 yr old ds is on his 2 weeks spring break. My older two kids don't have their break until the week after Easter so we are just hanging out. But my 5 yr old doesn't like change and he is doesn't understand why he isn't going to school.:sad2: I don't know how I am going to make it through summer!:scared1:

I made reservations for HOJO's new Pirate kids suite for Sept 26 - 30th! :cool1: Can't wait!
I would like to get the family to DL in May also but HOJO is booked for the middle of the month. I even talked with Jennifer (at HOJO) yesterday and she wasn't sure why there was a whole bunch of rooms blocked off. :confused3 And it is hard to stay anywhere else when you get used to HOJO's awesome new beds!:) So we will see. Anybody recommend another hotel that has awesome beds and rates??

Gotta run!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I cannot even imagine. I was toying with the idea of sneaking in a December trip, but hmmmmm, that sounds terrifying. :scared:

FWIW we were there this year over CP time, and we just stayed the heck out of DL as it got towards afternoon. Didn't impact us at all, except for the "mess" near the train station (not a mess if you're sitting there watching John Stamos, but while walking by at 9am, it's a mess!).

Ok ok. I still haven't heard from everyone yet. So there may be someone out there.

Well I think I've been pretty open about wanting more, so I'll do it, I'll have the kid. Hear that, ovaries? Hear it? It's for the greater good, you know!

A party of one? The cheese stands alone.

Yeah, eventually I will have to leave the thread as all of your chit chat will be rubbing salt in the wound of my disappointment.

Hey,hey, hey, anyone feeling sorry for me yet?

How about now?

Now?

How about now? Okay, I will stop!!!!

AMySUe

If you truly cannot go then I will feel bad for you. As bad as I did for myself in '08 when I couldn't go (which was solely b/c I couldn't stop myself from taking that solo trip which was SO great but took away the money available for the later trip).

...that and the fact he drank about a 6 pack of beer in the shower before we left for the Graceland Wedding Chapel, seriously, I was in love. Romance, not dead!!!

AmySue

In the shower!

He only gets on my nerves at times because he lives in my house and messes it up!!!

I've long felt that the main problem with marriage is that you live in the same house with the person. I remember reading that Melissa Etheridge and either her first or second main partner (or wife, not sure if married either of them?) lived in houses next door to each other...now if it was the first partner/wife then obviously that didn't ultimately work out for them, LOL, but I still think it would be terrific to have houses right next to each other and live that way. :)

The Elvis at the Graceland Wedding Chapel was not licensed to do the ceremony so, he walked me down the aisle singing "it's now or never", then seranaded us before then after we did the whole vows thing. My DH is the YOUNGEST of 9 kids so we didn't want to do the wedding thing since it would turn into a total his family reunion. I, on the other hand, an the only kid. (my brother was killed by a drunk driver when I was 18, he was 22), so my mom has likely not totally forgiven me for the Elvis thing!!

But honestly, with my type A personality and maximal impatience....picking the minute details of a wedding/reception would have driven me batty!! Decisions about napkins for god's sake!!!

Planning our wedding nearly destroyed our relationship, ayep.

I wanted to get hitched in Vegas! He did not. His first, short-lived (9 months pre annulment) marriage was started in a back yard in east L.A., and he wanted the big white poofy gown type of wedding (but with ME wearing the gown of course) and that was his input...I had to plan the wedding I didn't want, augh.

But we did make things easier on ourselves, choosing our wedding site based on the beer they had and letting them figure out all the table stuff. My friends who dealt with napkin color choices...yeah, we coudln't see ourselves doing that. :goodvibes

I'm a Scorpio. How are we supposed to communicate? Mean, nasty and bossy? :rotfl:

I'm not totally sure! My mom only focused on Libra b/c that's me, and she was on Virgo/Libra cusp so I know that one too. She was the one into astrology (though MIL is into Asian astrology) and I only really know what she knew. :upsidedow

And Molly, I fear I am WAY older than you, but thanks for thinking we are of an age!!

Well I'll be turning 40 in October...don't let the not-quite-5 year old fool you! :)

I need your help!

I'm taking my mom to Disneyland for her birthday tomorrow. I already made breakfast reservations at Steakhouse 55 in the DLH. Now I don't know what to do about lunch or dinner?

I'm trying to go to inexpensive places, hoping for $20-$30 for the both of us.

Here are some options I came up with for lunch & dinner (the places are easily interchangeable for meals, seeing as how they serve the same thing except for Ralph Brennan's & Napolini which get significantly more expensive for dinner).

Whitewater Snacks, Ralph Brennan's Creole Cafe, Napolini, Red Rockett's pizza port, Riverbelle Terrace, Carnation Cafe, Cocina Cucamonga, Pacific Wharf Cafe, Taste Pilot's Grill, The Plaza Inn.

If you are partial to anyone just give a shout out!
Thanks!:thumbsup2

Anybody recommend another hotel that has awesome beds and rates??

Gotta run!

The beds at HoJo are the same basic type that Starwood hotels use. So if you stay at a Starwood hotel you'll find comfiness. Which means Sheraton in the immediate area.

Hilton had some comfy beds, too, though I didn't get a good night's sleep due to some weird insomnia I had.

As for low price...well...not sure you can get those on those places without the uncertainty of hotwire or priceline... Good luck!

Ok, first of all we have been back for less than 2 weeks and this thread is already over 60 pages long?!?!? I have barely finished unpacking! Also, I don't know now if I will be able to go on the trip next year as it is overlapping the Olympics and I work somewhere that is very severely and directly effected by them. I just don't know if anyone will be granted time off during those dates. I will have to wait and see. I am going to try to catch up on the thread, but don't have much hope as I have a L...I...F...E...otherwise known as a husband and 2 children to look after as they are completely unable to look out for themselves....need to work on that.

Sarah

Ummmmm, I'm saying that you are a Princess princess: and Stacie and Wendy might be a bad influence on you. Yeah, that's it. :rolleyes1

Yes, I am a Princess...I agree they will be bad influences on me...:woohoo: :rolleyes1

Yup, that's what I was thinking too... right.... :rotfl2:

I will be ready with my camera popcorn::

See even Stacie thinks so.....

Well what does your mom like? Does she like sitdown or counter service.

YAY...Molly is going to take one for the team!!

Well what does your mom like? Does she like sitdown or counter service.

Either one is fine.
I asked her "If I take your somewhere, will you not like it?" and my dad said "As long as you don't take her to McDonald's I think you're fine" :lmao:

She prefers "real" food, so sit down restaurants are a plus but either one will work. She knows she's in Disneyland so she knows choices are somewhat limited.
