*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Morning all!

Bridgette LOVE the new do! Glad you are feeling better as well!

Donna glad you guys had fun yesterday! That little bag is nice. I got the WDW version when I was there in November. It is REALLY handy! I love the sound of those little figures you got. Love surprises ;). Sounds like a fun time was had by all! :)

Today I have to go in to work and I haven't been in since last week so that is always a scary thought LOL. Plus I don't know if mom will be there or not cuz she said she might have to go out of town today so again that is scary because as always the business books are weird and only SHE knows what we "really" have money wise cuz she has to play with money moving stuff around to make things work so I never know what we "really" have in there. It makes it REALLY hard to pay bills! But anyway so I have to go in and I hope that she will be there long enough to let me know what the story is or I at least can contact her by phone or something! But anyway then today is Shane's birthday and so tonight we are going over to their house for dinner.

They are going to bbq some salmon and then he wants an ice cream cake from baskin robbins so after school the girls and I are going to go pick that up. Then after dinner we will probably play some cards. He likes that. :)

Then tomorrow we have our first meet which is an away meet but luckily it is at a school that is fairly close so not too bad. And then on Sunday we have church and then we HAVE to get the girls hair cuts because they have their team pics on Wed and they haven't had their hair cut since April!

So that is my busy weekend. Then next week is the last week of school and there is a LOT going on but as I said it is fun stuff.

Anyway that's my weekend. Hope everyone else has fun stuff planned! :)

Take care and talk later!

Love the haircut Bridgette!! No you don't look mean....you just have the "what the heck are you taking my picture for look....." lol :rotfl: Keep getting better!!!

Morning everyone, its FRIDAY!!!! Nothing planned here, but hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!

Did the twins social security appts yesterday.....yawn.....they just need to wait for the medical records to come in to make a determination. We found out that they could get $674 each but since we get adoption assistance we will get the difference (if our income stays at a low amt) So all the paperwork & hassle (and if we qualify, then I have to get 2 new bank accts for the girls & keep all receipts when I use the money to turn in once a year) for a possible $114 a month total (and thats only if we got the full amt) But whatever...I guess it covers us if the state of Oregon ran out of money or terminated the health plan....... the social security is the back up plan.

Other than that...not a bad day yesterday. Hubby turned off our A/C about dinnertime last night & by 7:30pm it was over 80 degrees in the house & still over 80 degrees outside......big dummy! :headache: I don't turn off the A/C until the temp drops below the A/C setting. Got up this morning to a warm 80 degrees in the house.....gonna be another hot one today!! :cool2:

Good morning ladies! Happy Friday! :woohoo: I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I'm only working until 1:30 today. DBF's brother is graduating high school and the mass (it's a private school) starts at 3:30, so I have my dress and everything in my car and will go to DBF's house after work to get ready. And then partttaay tomorrow!

Morning Ladies. Thank goodness this week is over. It was short, but I am done.

Cristabel -

:cheer2:Congrats on your graduation!!!:cheer2:

So, we have four comfirmed for next year. We only need two more for a full table of DisDivas!

I really feel that you must really like the genre of regional food and corresponding spirits to get your moneys worth. Other than some bizarre behavior of one event guest, the evening was really, really enjoyable. :cutie:

I would totally be in for the Japan event next year - count me in!! I could make a quick trip down for that :thumbsup2

You'll be there exactly a week after me! I had read about the HOHO Trolley too but I am not sure we will get tickets for that. We will get in tomorrow around 1pm and then Bob leaves on Sunday around the same time. We don't have a lot of time but I know for sure we are going to the Capilano Suspension Bridge...it looks like so much fun! It is a park with suspension bridges up in the trees, looks kind of like a rain forest type park and you can walk all over using these suspension bridges!

You are SOOOO brave to go to the Capilaino Suspension Bridge  Way to scary for me. The actual original suspension bridge is way too long and scary to walk across! I remember doing it when I was a child and my brothers would start it shaking and scare the bejeebers out of me - very mean!

You guys have fun! We leave a week from tomorrow for two days in Vancouver and then the Alaska cruise. We are taking Theresa's advice and buying HOHO Trolley tix. They are good for two days and we get to see everything that way. And good for you going to the gym. The closest I ever get is when we do DL, I always call it a "gym day".:)

Woo hoo for doing the Trolley Tour. It really is a great way to see some highlights of the city when you don't have a lot of time. It is so beautiful here right now and the weather is about perfect! Clear blue skies and 25 degrees (77 for you).

So I just got home a little bit ago from a day at DL with Stacielee and Michelle. Stacielee's younger daughter and her friends decided once mom had her own tribe, they would just go do their own thing.

We did Buzz several times. Stacie hit a new high!!!!!! Her score was so high, the counter on the car dash couldn't display it.

We had good guns.

I bettered my score each time. Last one for me was over 300,000. Of course this doesn't come close to the Mistress of Buzz, the Queen of Lightyear.

The weather was perfect and mild. We were going to eat at Carnation but it was closed. Then we walked to the BBQ but even though there were plenty of tables, the wait was 30 minutes! So we ate dinner at a place that Stacie and I had never eaten in before; Michelle had. It's the outdoor place in NO square by the train station, near Haunted M., where usually a little ragtime band plays. Fun to try new places in DL. Stacie took a photo of her cake that she'll upload when she returns.

The funny moment of the day was when I was going to buy some small figures. These are in bags so you don't know what three figures you're going to get. I pointed out the ones I was hoping for. Stacie starts feeling the bags. She says, this one feels like the Haunted car you want. Then Michelle feels and says, "This one feels like the Daisy witch you want."

I buy them, go outside and sure enough, got the Haunted car and Daisy! Amazing what you can do with a little help from your friends. :woohoo:

Dl also has a special now -- if you spend over $50, you can buy a bag for $20. We were pooh poohing that until we saw how good it was. It has wheels and it has a telescoping handle. It's black and says Disneyland on the side. The size and shape is like a gym bag. I got one but then found it didn't fit in the small locker I had, so I carried it all day... :headache:

We did Star Tours and got to sit in the back row - definitely the best spot.

Saw lots of strange outfits; Beth would have enjoyed the people watching.

We left as the park was closing (sometime after 9) to get ready for grad night. It was just as well, as we were all dog-tired but happy.

Sounds like you had a fabulous day and yay for the Vinylmations that you wanted :woohoo: You'll have to pose pics of them (I have not seen the new series!).

Good afternoon ladies. I am sorry I have not been around. I tried popping back in but find I am so exhausted that sitting on the computer trying to keep up is too much for me. I do not have the energy for it yet but I am hoping to soon.

I have not been able to read what people wrote yet, kind of glanced. Sounds like most are in good spirits. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Hmm, I have to say this doesn't excite me. I love great Italian food, but you've got a lot of yucks there. A good Osso bucco is a thing of beauty, did they serve it with long tiny forks? What was yucky about the asparagus?

Panna cotta is my least favorite Italian dessert and I would hate to be cold... for this kind of special meal, they couldn't bring in more heaters? Am I the only person who expected the meal to be more adventurous than this?

Yes, I did expect more--especially after the France dinner last week that had some spectacular things. I think a pasta of something exotic would have been a nice addition. But even at France--I didn't expect "steak" as the entree--especially one that didn't have like a beautiful Bernaise or some other type of sauce on it. I think they are afraid to have something too exotic or they won't sell out. And the asparagus was yucky because it was . . . . asparagus.

I don't understand the heater thing either--other than cost. They have existing heaters overhead but the end we were on was without a heater. They could have brought in portable ones (but again, that cost issue.)

Oh, and I'll PM you about the France dinner.

TGIF ladies!!! :cool1: :yay:

Donna, sounds like you had fun! And yes, I would have loved to be there people watching. :thumbsup2

Cristabel, congrats to you girlfriend!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Bridgette, great haircut! I love it. Really looks good on you.

What else?
Uh. I forget.
I'm hungry.
Can't think! lol
Off to grab some lunch. Catch ya'll later. :)

Can I just say, LOVE the shirt! Please tell me we are doing this shirt! It is perfect! Way to go Heather!

Sarah

I see this got posted after Heather put up a link to a second shirt. I want to go on record as saying the one she designer herself is the one I was speaking of. It rocks!

So I am meeting Vicki on Sunday around 1 or 2...you going to join us?

Sarah

I got a new hairdo today! I got my bangs thickened (meaning more of them) and blonde streaks. I'm showing a pic so nobody get too frightened, I've been fighting pneumonia too and feel like poo. This is my "about to go to bed" look. For some reason people think I'm a mean person when I look like this. :confused3

Cute hair! I love it.

Where are you meeting up? I had no idea!!

Where are you meeting up? I had no idea!!

We are meeting around 1 or 2 at her hotel (Sutton Place on Burrard) and going to a late lunch on sunday. It all came up less than a week ago and I was hoping you would be on and I could mention it! So you coming??? Huh? Huh? It will be fun...my dh and kiddos will be there too...we are doing to the aquarium and stanley park before hand.

Sarah

Oh, I hope Theresa gets to meet up with Vicki and Sarah!

Oh, these blind items I was buying were a different Disney series of tiny little figures. I sort of suspected I would not be impressed with the new Park 2 series of vinylmations. I believe they rushed this particular set, because the design is just not as clever as the previous ones. So for the first time, I passed. :scared1: Voting with my pocketbook.

They also issued a 9" incredibles one packaged with one small one that was uninteresting. And they're charging thirty dollars more than what these things sell for individually (not this exact figure of course). It's just greedy because they know that Incredibles collectors (and anyone interested in a low-number limited edition) will "have" to get it.

I am looking forward to the holiday series (maybe released in July) and the girly series.

So people knew about the menu before they signed up? I agree with you then, they are afraid they won't appeal to a wide audience. From what I've heard, it sounds like the meals I've had at Napa Rose were more adventurous and interesting than these "international meals." And for less money (especially because I don't drink that much wine).

We might do better to organize a Napa Rose meal next year - also everyone can order what they want.

Asparagus.. :rotfl2:

Poop! I am scheduled to be training someone this weekend, so it would be very hard for me to make it down town (it's about 1-1.5 hours each way for me). If I had known earlier, I could have rescheduled :sad1:

Where are you going for lunch?? The Sutton is a nice hotel. We used to go there for Christmas lunch when I worked at St. Paul's Hospital (which is just up the street from the hotel).

Have a great time at Stanley Park and the aquarium. Make sure to look for the sloth in the rain forest (it's REALLY hot in there!).

Hey ladies!

Brigette.....I love the hair. Totally cute.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday night.

Here are a few places I took some quick pics of that may work for our group pic. With all the food and wine stuff, I didn't get to take as many as I wanted to. And I kept getting side tracked.

I don't think the first one will be there for our Ladies Only trip--Golden Dreams theatre is getting demo'd to build Little Mermaid.

I love the one with the bear rock (that always looks like a coyote to me).

So--whatcha do at the Food and Wine festival? I am toying with the idea of going for a couple of hours on Sunday--I never did do the "wine walks" and would like to do at least one of them.

I know about the Golden Dreams. I have heard some rumors that they will keep that part though. But if there is construction, we wont' be able to.

I just love having something interesting of different in the background. I agree about the coyote.

Hey, I may have some time free on Sunday. Tay wants to go to a friends house, so if she does, I may consider doing a wine walk. Let me get the details from her tomorrow. She's 13 and telling me she wants to go is all teh details I get. So if I am free and you dont' mind company, Id join you.

Mostly Ive just done a lot of the demos. I love them. We did check out the beer walk for my dad, but he was too stuffed to actually do it. I just love checking everything out though. And the people watching has been the best thanks to the F&W festival.

that would be cool! let me know what Tay decides to do! I would probably get there early (because parking has been such a bear lately) and go to DL first for an hour or so--then hop over to DCA for the wine.
