*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

I broke with with Chase because he was too needy and clingy for me. I had only dated him a month and he was already complaining he didn't see me enough. I see him 3 times a week, and to me that's a lot to see a guy for only knowing him a month! He wasn't very interesting either. My events are always entertaining and amusing (at least to me they are) and his consisted of going to his friend's hockey game and playing pool. BORING! I enjoy doing different and new things and he prefers to stay at home. Plus there wasn't any fireworks when I was around him; it felt more like a chore to hang out with the kid.

I am extremely picky with who I keep around, ask my mom. Hence why she jokes to everyone I have the wedding planned, just missing the groom.

I had a cling-on in college too. We were good friends, but he wanted more....he always told me how much he loved me.....and he would somehow find out what I was doing every night (I think he must've sneakily gotten the info from some of my friends/aquaintances) and then he would just show up wherever I was. If we had a little argument or disagreement, no matter how little and insignificant, he would send me a dozen roses. He even called my mom and dad one time asking them how he could get me to fall in love with him! Psycho.

Anyway, good for you to cut the cling-on strings now. It would only get worse if you didn't. ::yes::

Oh my............. I hope I remember everything.

Beth.......looking forward to your report on the "balls!" :rolleyes1

Bree.........sounds like you made the best decision. My oldest DD was very picky too. She finally found herself a keeper. We love him. So just take your time, and "Mr. Wonderful" as my DH Dave would say, will come into your life when you are least expecting it. :goodvibes

Capri...........I had a looser in college too. I wanted to break up, and he told me he would commit suicide!! :scared1: I finally had to do it. Thank God I did!! He was a jerk!! Oh.......and he is still alive. I see him at my HS reunions. :headache: LOL..............that didn't sound very nice did it? :snooty:

Stacie, sorry about your situation. I'm sure your super knows all about her kind. Neeeeeeeeeeeedy, and thinks everyone owes her a favor. Is that kind of right?

Courtney, sorry about your teeth. I had braces too. I'm old enough that when I got them, every single tooth had a full band all the way around it!!! Talk about hurt!!!!!!!! So I feel for ya!! :guilty:

Is Molly really pregnant? I really really hope so!! :cool1:

Jenn.........the Back Stage tour sounds right up our alley!! Now that is the kind that would be awesome!! :thumbsup2

Tina.........I hope your Mom's ankle gets better in time for her trip to Vegas!!:flower3:

Amy...so did you chicken out on dying your own hair?

Cheryl..........I had no idea what they were talking about either. We seem to be in the same ball park for alot of the Diva subjects! :rolleyes1:laughing:

Wendygirl..............que pasa?:upsidedow

Wonder how Dawn and Bob like the Grand?? Oooooh la la!! :love2:

Ok.......... I know I have forgotten something.

Oh yeah..........Deb......what is with the "unibrow" thing?

So if I hadn't just started WW I would be all over the cake ball thing...can someone please bring them to our Divas party kicking off the trip in February! Pretty please?!?:flower3:

Hi Sarah!

That is great idea! I'll give it a try!!

As for what I am doing this weekend...we are having my ds's birthday party. He turned 4 tuesday and we are having the party sunday in a park nearby as long as it is good weather...if it rains it will be at my mom's house. We invited over 30 people...I have no idea how many will show because so few people in our families RSVP...seriously people, it's only a quick phone call. Sorry, pet peeve...50 people RSVP'd to my wedding and 300 showed up. How are you supposed to plan for something like that!!!!:scared1:

Hope everyone has a great weekend....oh, and Bree, you did the right thing! Beth, any chance of airmailing one of the balls? Just one, I don't want to break my diet!!!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

Gosh, Bree, there was nothing going for this guy! You will have your pick of guys.

Sarah

How DID you deal with that? A friend of mine is (East) Indian and her wedding was similar--but they always plan for hundreds because it's often a word of mouth thing.

Hi ladies! Sorry I didn't check in earlier, I got busy at work.

We went and found a red velvet cake (not from Cold Stone) for our birthday thing today. I'll let you ladies know if it was good! :wizard:

Courtney~ I hope your mouth is feeling better today.

Thank you. I feel better than yesterday, but my head still hurts just a tad.

(no I don't regret breaking up with Chase).

You go girl!

Making cake balls. Ruben liked the recipe and wanted to try them so without even telling me, he swiped the recipe I printed out, went to the store last night and bought all the ingredients. I saw all the stuff when he got home and was like, "ok, guess I'm making balls tomorrow!" :lmao:
Hopefully they turn out and I don't muck 'em up somehow.

Let us know how they turn out!!!

Courtney, sorry about your teeth. I had braces too. I'm old enough that when I got them, every single tooth had a full band all the way around it!!! Talk about hurt!!!!!!!! So I feel for ya!! :guilty:

Oh my gosh. How old were you when you go them? I feel old going in the ortho office and everyone getting their braces adjusted being lunder 13.

We knew to plan for at least double and we figured a lot would depend on weather...we got married 3 days before christmas. The lady who I asked to help me with food (my matron of honor's mom) is used to feeding huge groups so we did everything buffet style...sandwich makings on cresants through costco...lots of christmas cookies and salad stuff and a huge cake that we had 7/8 left after all was said and done...the food was GONE though. Everyone got some....but there was nothing left! We had one of the brides maids pack us a picnic basket full of food to take to the hotel because no one would leave us alone to eat, they kept wanting to take pictures, cut the cake, sign the documents, take more pictures, dance....at one point my dh's family wanted me to give up my chair for his aunt who was basically an invalid....my chair...the bride's chair...I mean really people! We had to bring out a bunch more chairs and the church was over flowing! Note to all who don't do it....please RSVP!!!! Whether it's a birthday party for a kid or a wedding, just RSVP!!!!

Sarah

Katie started it. :rolleyes1
.

So Beth, what kind of balls are you going to make.

I had a cling-on in college too.

Okay, how you said it reminded me of Star Trek .

Yes, it is!! Hurry off to the airport and I'll meet you at the Billy Hill Show again. :thumbsup2

So the balls are a work in progress. Are they supposed to be this time consuming? LOL They are chillin right now. Mixing the cake with the frosting was messy to say the least. I guess time will tell. Since I've never seen or had one, I'm not sure how I'll know if they turned out right or not. :rotfl:

Oh, and Katie, since Ruben picked out the supplies, it's just simple yellow cake with milk chocolate frosting, and I'm going to dip them in chocolate. I cannot wait to see what you come up with for October! I bet you are a pro at making them by now. :thumbsup2

Sounds yummy...ok, Blly Hill here I come...
Umm...I don't think it worked.......:headache:

Hey, if it didn't work, than Beth was trying to get me to sit at the Billy Hill show for 9 months...she was going to stand me up....not cool Beth...how could you do that to a fellow Diva? I'm appalled! So do I get a cake ball now?

Sarah

So Miss Dawn is at the parks this weekend but there's no plan for a meetup? I guess it's good to give her and her bf (aka husband) some quiet tv time together. :lmao:

Don't tell me about the balls. Now all I can picture is Alec Baldwin.

What, you don't want to hang out in Disneyland watching Billy for 9 months? Oh wait, that would probably be Callie or Tina's preference. ;)

Keep your pants on! The balls are chillin first, then I need to dip them. :thumbsup2
