*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Courtney... i love when they do the monthly birthdays.. it works out so much better and you don't end up forgetting someone's birthday.

Red Velvet cakes are sometimes hard to find?:confused3

Are there any new movies coming out that look good? I saw where they are making a 2nd sex and the city movie. I loved the first one.

StaciegirL... those sounds super good! Did i see where you said you are going to take more classes? when do they start?

Sometimes. These ones no. I put an extra gooey fudge topping on them.

Oh wow that sounds yum-o right now.

I never see any store made red velvet cakes here. The girl who's in charge of cake buying at my work said she would go look at Ralph's because she thinks she's seen them there.

There are a lot of movies coming out that I want to see.....Star Trek, Hungover, Land of the Lost...yeah, Im a geek.

I did see that they were making a second Sex movie. Wonder when it will come out? If its near a time when you will be visiting, we should plan to go and see it. My mom loves that movie and that show.

Yeah, gonna take more classes. I plan to get my English degree, or Comparative Lit degree. I still haven't found the program that works for me yet. I will keep looking. More than likely I will take a semester off before I go back.

Ooohh that would be big fun! I would love to do a movie night! So when it comes out it's a date:thumbsup2

You know in the series sex and the city.. i never liked the carrie character..she always seemed selfish. But in the movie.. i fell in love with her, she just had this fierce vulnerability.

Is Hungover about a bachelor party in vegas? I think i saw a preview..it looks so funny!

I wanna see Star Trek too! NerdgirLs..gotta LoVe us!:rotfl:

As the HR person at my work, I am in charge of the monthly birthday cakes.:)
If there is only one during the month (not very often), I will ask that person what they like and get it. But usually I just mix it up and try to get something different. The celebration for May birthdays is next Friday and I am getting a Tres Leche Cake from a mexican food store up the street. Once last fall I got fresh strawberry pies instead of a cake. It was yummy, but people expect a cake. The down side is I have to lead the party (per se) and start the singing. And when you hear me sing, you will be likely to ask me what I did with the money.:rotfl: Anyway, I have never seen a premade Red Velvet cake or as an option at any of the grocery store bakeries, either. That would be a nice option.

All this cake talk is making it REALLY difficult to stick with my diet :scared: I :lovestruc cake!!!

Ooooh - there was some chat about some Divas wanting to do Mickey pedicures on the Ladies Only Trip and in my beauty supply store travels, I found the cutest round flat crystal stones - in many different colors and sizes, including black - which would be great for doing Mickey head designs. Is anyone still interested in doing that??? I'm going to try this for myself and I'll post pics when I do it. I got the black stones and some light purple ones - but they do come in most colors :thumbsup2

We usually ask the person(s) what they want. One lady requested chips and dip since she doesn't eat cake. :rotfl: We normally have pie for some reason, I'd rather have cake and then take home the left overs! :thumbsup2

Tres Leches sounds fantastic right now, oh man.

Do you have a Cold Stone Creamery near you? They sell the Red Velvet Cake with the Cake Batter ice cream. It is sinfully good. :worship:

Oooohhh!! Geesh, I think I'm just going to stop by there on my way home and get it just for me!! That looks sooo good! :cloud9:

All I could think about during the second 1/2 of class today was the Divas portion of the disboards. I could not wait to get home get online, but I wanted to play with my sampler from the Philosophy counter first. Well, I was a little over zealous with my microderm peel mask and my face is on FIRE now. I've never done it before. My face is as smooth as a baby's bottom but DANG they don't mess around!

Well anyway, I have tunnel thoughts right now... all I was able to gather out of everyone's posts was de-clawed cake balls! That's not a very helpful response. I can't wait to come back once I can fan the flames! Whew!

Need I go on? Dish, g'head. I am ALL ears!!!

Oh c'mon. They're not THAT big . . . . .

Hello all!

Good to hear sooo many want to make cake balls. The good thing about them is that you can make any combination you'd like. But if you do make any of them with cream cheese frosting they are soooo much better with homemade frosting than the store bought. And cream cheese frosting is really easy to make.

If I make them during the holidays, I usually theme the color of the balls to match. Like for Easter I made pink, purple and yellow. For Halloween last year, I made Orange, Purple & Dark Chocolate balls. All you have to do is buy the colored candy melts from a cake store or Michaels.

Hope everyone is well and safe traveling to those going out of town :wizard:.

I get what you mean about Carrie. I think the scene in Mexico where she first looks in the mirror says it all.

Yes, Hungover is the Vegas bachelor party movie. James wants to see that one too.

And yes, Nerd girls unite!!

Just a quick stop to say Hello! before I go start my 3 page essay that's due in 3 hours!

You are almost as bad as I am. But 3 pages is nothing. I could do that on the drive to work. Good Luck!!
