Oh, my older kids are home from school today. Not a planned absence either. The dumb school bus never showed up this morning. Usually the bus picks them up about three blocks away at 7:20. They get there around 7:16 to make sure they don't miss it. Well, at 8:16, one hour later, still no bus!
We called the school and they were like "We have three buses running late, we know. Thanks." Click.

Uhhh, ok. How rude. *****. So after my kids, and several others were left standing on a street corner for an hour they finally just walked home. I don't have the mini van, Ruben does, so I had no choice but to let them stay home.
Now I don't know if this will be an unexcused absence or not as I'm sure
eventually a bus showed up, but seriously, how long are you supposed to leave kids hanging around on a street corner before it just becomes ridiculous?

And we didn't even have an estimated time of arrival, just one rude sentence and a hang up.
Whatever. I told them not to worry about it. They are in their rooms reading now.
