*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

I'm about to call RFC to make my reservation. I'm going to do 6:30 and for those of us who play in the park before hand, I suggest we head for DTD around 5:30-45ish and hang in the bar area so we can put the name in right at 6:30. So far I have, Cheryl, Donna, Stacie, Katie, Vicki, Linda, Michelle, and me. Is that right?

Sounds good. Oh, I don't think I mentioned it, but is it okay if I bring the baby? She's still attached to my hip or better yet, the B:eek:B (I borrowed that from you).

It's dark in the casinos, no windows, so no one will notice how you look. And besides, everyone starts drinking at 9 a.m. so you'll probably be looking pretty darn good to most folks. :rotfl2:

That's an even scarier thought!!

Teehee, it is his gall bladder...minor detail, I know.:lmao: He is having it removed. The surgery will be laparascopic (sp?).

Thanks for all the advice, guys.:goodvibes

Good afternoon!
It's 2:37 and I'm pooped!
Anais and I left this morning a little after 8:30am and walked 2.5 miles to Edwards Theaters near our house to watch the free movie (they show free movies during the summer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). We got there at 9:23 and there was already a long line ahead of us. Today they were showing Charlotte's Web and Because of Winn Dixie. My mom, Anais and Diana had gone walking yesterday to see Charlotte's Web so we were seeing Because of Winn Dixie.

After the movie got out (it's now one of my favorites!) we walked one mile to the park and Anais played there for about 20 minutes before my mom picked us up.

Just had a great, healthy lunch and now I'm ready to take a nap!

I do have to do some baking (crescent rolls filled with nutella and Strawberry preserves) for our CKC (Calvary Kids Club).

LOL--yeah, life without a regular bladder would not be pleasant! He'll be fine--you can easily live without a gall bladder.

We miss you too!!!

Aw, thanks!

Hi ladies! As a single mom going through a divorce, I have some Disneyland funds saved for after my Christmas trip with my dd....I was wondering if you ladies wouldn't mind a *newbie* to your group?? I soo need a trip by myself with a bunch of fun gals

Welcome!

Good morning Ladies! Just checking in before I head out to run errands.
As my FB friends know today is my birthday. Nothing special today - hopefully can get out of fixing dinner. I am turning 39 for the first time!
Just wishing I lived closer to DL so I could get my Gift Card. :sad2: Oh well.

Talk with you all soon!

Becci

Hi Becci! This is my second self wishing you a happy birthday!!!!!!:upsidedow

I must admit I am sooo jealous of you all going to Vegas! Have fun and take lots of pics!

DH has had some serious issues lately with his tummy. Well after quite a few doctor appointments it looks like he has an hyperactive bladder. He has to have it taken out next Thursday. Does anyone have any experience with this? Like what is the recovery time and how painful is it? Thanks!:flower3: The surgeon made it sound like it was no biggie, but Brent is a little scared...as am I. He is a bit of a baby when it comes to being ill, and this is much bigger than a cold.

This makes me nervous. :confused3

January--I just had a thought. Is your DH having his "gall bladder" removed?

If so, this is quite common--I had mine removed several years ago. The gall bladder essentially helps you process fats. Unfortunately you can produce stones in your gall bladder that then pass through the bile duct and can cause pain. (I know.)

These days--if all that's being done is gall bladder removal--they can do it laparoscopically and the recovery time is pretty quick. Afterwards, he shouldn't have too many food restrictions, but may have to watch it on eating fatty things for a while.

Hope that helps!

Aha! I know lots of people who have had their gall bladders removed. He should be good to go!

Good afternoon girls!

Kelly--I'm thinking of checking out that Disney train next weekend in Redwood City. Any report/tips you can give me would be great!

Nothing much new is happening here. Just working. I keep getting these last-minute jobs, which are hectic, but a nice surprise. We got a call on Monday evening, around 5:00 from a frantic woman who needed dinner for 20 the next night. When we delivered the food, we found out that it was a graduation party. I don't know about you, but when I'm planning a party, the first thing I think about is the food.

Oh and my berries! I ended up freezing a lot of them, and then I had a friend form the kitchen dehydrate a bunch of them. I'll report back when I get them from her, but I think they'll be good to add to trail mix, cereal, oatmeal, etc.

Would that be the "there's no crying in baseball" voice? I love that movie!
::yes:: I love it too!

Minor. lol Good thing you aren't the surgeon. Who knows what would go missing! :rotfl:  Keep us updated as you can. And I'll be sending good wishes to you both.

Sounds good! And sounds like a nice day.

Me too! Isn't that the best part after all? :rolleyes1

Hello and Welcome!!!

WHAT?? A nap? Napping?? There's no napping! THERE'S NO NAPPING IN VEGAS!
(said in my best Jimmy Dugan/League of Their Own voice)

Sleep when you go back to work. :rolleyes1

There better be some napping, or it won't be pretty.

Some of the gals are arriving on Saturday, some on Sunday and two on Monday for a fun "Girls Night Out" that will last all day, all week long.

I cannot wait! And there's already talk of making the Vegas trips a regular thing too, so you never know. Those who missed this trip, keep an eye out in the future. ;)

Once I am unpacked and recovered, I will be ready to go again!

Stacie: we'll go sit by the pool with a book and put sunglasses on and nap and Beth will never know.

Of course, we might get sunburned.

Sounds like a plan. Ill bring sunscreen!

Very true. But remember, it works both ways. So if I start chatting up with a hot guy, remind me to take off the beer goggles (or rum goggles) and see what he looks like in the light of day.

I do have to do some baking (crescent rolls filled with nutella and Strawberry preserves) for our CKC (Calvary Kids Club).

Those sound yummy! I may have to give those a try.

Things have been crazy busy lately. You would think now that summer is here things would slow down, but no. This is the first chance I had all day to breathe. I hope things slow up some or else I may need more time off.

Hey! You're the one with the sweet DBF! If you meet a hot guy you're supposed to pass him off to one of us "single" gals!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECCI!!!

good evening girls! I hope everyone is doing good.

Happy Birthday, Becci!!!

Been there, done that. It's pretty good. Any tummy issues will resolve themselves after six months to a year, so don't let him freak, okay?

Yeah, that's a great time. Gives us time to play in the park after dark! (there are two Stacies, just so you know)

Beth - your description of Vegas made me laugh!!!

Becci: Happy Birthday!! whoohoo for birthdays!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECCI!!!:cheer2:

Deb, how are you doing? Resting and recouping I assume? I know you are a very strong woman so I am sure you are not sitting around whining begging for ice cream and pain pills (like I would be :sad2:).

January, I hope Brett will be ok, but heck, I know he will!

Cheryl, SYTYCS is on tonight, yah!
Are you still going with Breezy and I to the show in Sept?
Of all the concerts and shows I have taken my precious DD to, she said SYTYCD last year was her favorite.:lovestruc Although, I can't imagine why she put it above Tom Jones in Palm Springs...I mean we had 4th row center seats at that one! So, we are making it a yearly thing as long as the show lasts.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Ladies! Right now I at the Hair Salon getting highlights to cover my ever populating growth of gray hair. Enjoying the peace and quiet! Talk with you all later.
Becci

If it wasn't for my lactose issues, I would be begging for ice cream!!

I am usually a very strong person. But I am a WHINER!!!!!!!!

I have an infection, they think, so we are treating just in case.
They are not sure if it is red from the surgery or an infection.

My knee flippen hurts a lot!! I am a baby!!

I am just in percocet heaven....

Oh Deb, I am so sorry you are in pain. Keep taking the pain pills, that is what they are for. I hope the infection clears up real soon. And I hear ya on the whining! Get a good nights sleep, that always helps.

Night Ladies.;)

 I know all about orthopedic surgery pain! Yes, it's better to treat for an infection if it's suspected. I've gotten staph infections from two surgeries and they're no fun. One minute you think you're recovering well and the next you're in raw and aching pain again. Hang in there, you're strong and whining is okay when you're in misery.
