I have been to Disney 2x with my boys (once when they were 4/5 and again when they were 8/9) And I really never took any pictures of them with a princess or ariel or any female character. (and really one only of the boys in front of the castle and even in that picture the castle was far away)

I think I have some mental thing not to take a pic of my boys with anything girl related. I KNOW that sounds stupid and I don't do it intentionally but it happens. The thing is though, I have seem some wonderful pictures of the castle (whether by itself or with the family in front) and some with little boys with a female character but never think of taking them myself. But I went to a scrapbook store yesterday and bought this 12x12 book with all kinds of neat papers in it. Some are the typical Mickey and then some to co-ordinate with a princess or ariel, etc. I really want to use those papers and make an awesome album this year.

How am I gonna get my boys to stand and take a pic with a "girrrllll" (they are at that "eewww, yuck" stage. LOL

What about pictures of YOU with the girls? Then you could use the papers :cutie:

My Grandmother had a picture of my Little Brother kissing Snow White on the nose :rotfl:

Trust me you have another year or two before that won't be a problem.

Until then just have them do anyway

We took our first trip to DL last September, and I did take pictures of my DS6 and DS2 with princesses. I started to feel bad when I noticed we were the only BOYS in line. Was I doing this for the boys, or for myself??? But when we got to visit with the princess, the boys were enthralled and so sweet with the pretty girl paying attention to them. And the princesses seemed to lavish attention on the boys, probably because they're a bit unusual in their line!

Aurora talked at length with each child in line, and while DS2 was too antsy to wait his turn (DH took him for a walk), DS6 just ate up the 1-on-1 talking they did, and he has this adoring gaze in the photo with her. Both boys were at the front of the line when Ariel went for a swim break, so were in the perfect spot to view her unique exit and entrance, which they thought was so cool! And Cinderella also spent time chatting with each boy at a character meal, and gave each boy a kiss on the forehead, leaving a lovely lipstick print that they proudly showed off later that evening.

Anyway, it did make for some of my most favorite pictures from the trip, so I would definitely say if your boys are willing, do it!

If they're not, get pictures of yourself with the princess, or the princess alone (or with her prince.)

We tried to get a family picture in front of the castle, but for whatever reason my DS6 was pouting and refused to get in the picture. Rather than push, I put DS2 back in the stroller and asked the photographer to take a picture of just DH and me. This is also a spectacular picture! Not just because it's in front of the castle, but because a picture of just the two of us (or any picture with ME in it) is rare these days, and DH really is my Prince Charming.

I haven't put these photos to pages yet, but I am definitely going to go with the princess theme!

I have been to both parks with my young son- he was 4 on our last trip and he loves the Princesses. Last year I did a page with each of them with him and I titled it So Many Princesses... So Little Time. This year he couldn't wait to meet them. We missed Ariel and he hasn't quite forgiven me yet and he brings it up all the time. He got red kisses from Mulan, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White while we were at Epcot. By the time he met Belle there was no room left on his face. He absolutely loved it. I actually got the idea from an idea book with a page titled What a ladies man! I say get in line with them. You could always use the pics as blackmail pictures at their high school graduation!!!!!

Both of my boys are not into princesses at all. The only reason the ate at the Castle is because it was on Mom's wish list. I did get them to wait for Woody and Jessie though. My oldest didnt want to stand next to Jessie because she was a girl so to get back at him she kissed him, and then motioned to call her. It was so incrediably funny. DS was so red. We still kid him about it 2 yrs later.:rotfl:
