Need help coming up with a budget gift for my son's girlfriend? She is 13 and they have been dating just 4 months, if you really call it dating at this age. She has a birthday and Christmas this month. He would like to get her a gift for both, and I would like to keep it budget (15-20) range. Any ideas? This is a gift from him, not us.

A monogrammed scarf? Or any nice scarf?

A gift certificate to get her nails done? I got that when I was 14

I also got more costume/not as nice jewelry? Like the nicer stuff at Claire's or the cheaper necklaces from like Dillard's or belk.

An inexpensive necklace, nail polish, cute frame with a small gift card, flowers, or a stuffed animal. Boys have given my DD17 some interesting things, but she always loves the flowers and stuffed animals.

I would think a cuddly stuffed animal like a kitty or puppy would be appropriate for that age, also, if she is into anime or minecraft it could be that theme. Pillow pets maybe. I have also seen cute T-shirts and hoodies around here. Think Aeropostale or Hollister. They have sales all the time.

Do you have a charming Charlie's close? They have lots of cute things that are reasonable.

Yes, DD when she was 14 got a Pillow Pet from her boyfriend along with some earrings for Christmas. (And a mani/pedi GC from his mom.) He gave her an Alex and Ani bracelet for her bday. I think GCs are nice, but she would probably like something a little more personal from him, I'd imagine. For DD, now 17, that relationship lasted nine months, but she still enjoys the things he gave her. (And vice versa.)

When my son was a freshman he asked if I could take him to Kohl's to buy his girlfriend a Xmas present. He ended up getting her a bracelet with purple stones in it (his favorite color).

I like the scarf (the kind you wear w/your outfit, not w/your coat) idea since that is a hot item now.

How about a body spray or lotion from Bath & Body Works?

If he goes to her house to watch movies, he can put together a movie night box. Get a plastic popcorn box, some microwave popcorn, either a movie or a gc for a video store (if you have any that haven't closed yet), some candy, maybe a couple of cute glasses for their drinks.

Stuffed animal, frame with a fun picture of them, kohls necklace or bracelet always make good teen gifts.
