Ok, yea, they look NOTHING like candy. I would think that the first one tastes rather dull and I wouldn't even go back for seconds.
Check out this (it's from a year or so ago.)

Some woman said her son swallowed 18 of the magnetix sticks. Here's a link to his x-ray. The woman, of course wanted to contact the comany so they'd pay her medical bills.

I just don't see how that can be real. It looks fake to me.
the first article is about a 3 year old...I wonder if that was his toy or not? I'm sure that they are NOT approved for 3 year olds! Why wasn't this child supervised?
The boy swallowed them seperately, but the magnets in them attracted the pieces to each other to connect in the stomach, so that's why it looks so big
But why are the up so high in his body? It just seems weird.
THat is pretty much where your stomach is--look at the x-rays from the girl in the op. There are some in her stomach and some through out her intestines. It looks like they took the boy's x-ray before they moved out.
Ah...got it.
Well, I still don't understand why anyone, even a young child would swallow large quantities of something like that. Maybe one or two...but not 18.
I agree. I can maybe see a 2 or 3 year old doing that but an 8/9 year old?? Why do I have this nagging feeling that the parents had something to do with this??? I hope not but that is what keeps popping into my mind.
The part that stands out to me is that it says they parents were in the same room but she STILL somehow ate 30 of these things? What did she do, chug them down? I mean, that may sound crude but how the heck did she eat 30 of these without the parents noticing? Heck, my cousin has 5 kids and they can't even get anything NEAR their mouths that is not food and she notices!
I watched the video and it kind of seemed the girl may have somewhat of a mental disability...now get all upset at me, I'm just saying her voice sounded like my cousin who was a little slow like that growing up. She wouldn't look at the camera either, maybe because she is embarassed??
Anyways watch the video and you will see the little girl speak.
Kids do stupid things. Why? Who knows, it just seemed like a good idea at the time. When your kid does something stupid and you ask them why they did it, what do they say? Half the time it's, "I don't know."
My son swallowed his cell phone antenna. Yes that's right, the antenna. It feel off of the phone so he popped it in his mouth. He was blowing it out and sucking it back in. I told him to stop doing it because he was going to swallow it. "No I won't." he said with a laugh. No sooner did the words leave his mouth and he did it again, when my daughter reached for it.......... Yep he sucked it back in and down the throat it went.
He was 15 at the time. Teens also do stupid things.
but I'm willing to bet he wouldn't swallow it on purpose. And definitely not 30 times in a row...haha.
