While my 2 yr old is excited to go to see Elsa next week her favorite Disney character is Mater. The Disney Store, and Amazon have a very boy leaning selection of clothing for him but nothing that doesn't scream "boy" ... Has anyone been to the parks lately and see what the selection of stuff there is like for girls specifically with Mater as the theme?

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it and would just buy her whichever Mater shirt she likes, even if it's a "boy" one. I think you're going to be hard pressed to find a pink Mater shirt.

I may have worded that wrong. I'm fine with it being a boys shirt but the ones I seem to be finding look like boy shirts in the actual cut or style of the shirt (not the graphics themselves). I'm going to try Target and Wal-Mart tomorrow. I'm all about letting her buy whatever she wants. I have no doubt we'll be walking around in an Elsa dress and Mater Mickey Ears at some point and I'm totally fine with that! :)

That's one that comes in girl cut Tshirts. You can just google Mater Disney Tshirt and add girl in there if you aren't finding anything. It will be easier than going store to store.

Looks like the link isn't taking you to what I was looking at. On Esty, search for Doodlebugembroidery. There is a Mater embroidered Tshirt that comes in many different cuts, including girls cut.

My daughter has a purple Lightning shirt (has the race flags and his number, but Lightning is not on it) that is a girl cut shirt from DCA.

Check out zazzle.com. They have several Mater designs, some of them are available in Toddler sizes and you pick the color (even pink).

I don't know if there is enough turn around time, but you could ask over on the Disigns section of these boards and see if somebody could make you one/has one made. Then you cold just buy s plain white girls cut tshirt and iron it on. I've done that before and they've turned out great!

Wal-Mart has quite a selection of Star Wars shirts for girls (just ordered one for oldest a week ago), but a quick search and they hardly have any Mater stuff at all, not even for boys. Perhaps when the new movie comes out they'll have more stuff. That won't help you though if your trip is before June. Do you sew at all? A t-shirt dress is very easy to make. Essentially you cut off the hem of a shirt, hem a piece of fabric, and then sew the fabric to the t-shirt and you have a custom dress. You could buy Mater themed fabric and sew it to any t-shirt and have a nice Mater outfit for your daughter.

I don't have any suggestions, but I feel you! I have the opposite problem - my 3 year old son is obsessed with Minnie and I'm pretty lenient about him wearing "girl" stuff but some of it is just super glittery and bright pink and he doesn't really want that anyway...he just wants a plain Minnie shirt. Oh well. He likes Lightning equally as much so I try to steer him in that direction. Ha!

I noticed someone above suggested iron-on, and that was my next thought - I bet it wouldn't be too hard to have an iron-on made.

Over on the Disigns part of these boards they'll make the design for free. You just need to print into an iron on transfer sheet and you're good to go! They have made a few custom designs for me!
