Ginn Reunion Resort >> has anyone stayed here?

thank you again!
if anyone has a specific owner they've had good luck with please let me know! this vrbo is so new to me....and there are so many units to choose from and such a range on the prices too...:confused3

We stayed at the Ginn last April and loved it! The unit was very clean, plenty of space (3 bed rooms) and the water park they have on site was great! We rented through www.ivacationonline.com and had NO issues. We rented unit #508 (if you go to the website and enter that unit number, you can see all the info). The owner was great to deal with. Very helpful.

Yes, we had full access to all resort amenities. The resort is cashless, so we paid a deposit (I believe it was around $1000) and anything we purchased at the resort was charged to the owners account (golf, spa, restaurant etc). 2 weeks after we returned home we received a refund of our deposit minus any charges.

Hope that helps.

Just to clarify, we were considered "guests of the owner" and were treated as such. We are going back this May, again to Reunion, but our dates were not available so we are staying in another slightly larger home. The resort is absolutely incredible, the drive to Disney is a breeze and we had no problems going back and forth (even with our then 15 month old, 3yr old and 4yr old). We headed back for naps every day. The value for the this type of resort is amazing.

We gave up the hotel thing once we had little kids and have no plans to go back anytime soon.

Let me know if you need any other information.

We are looking at staying here - WOW. I was very close to booking Windsor Hills and the only think holding me back was I wanted more of a resort feel. Would you mind telling me the drive times to the various parks. We are going with another family and all have young kids and my friend wants to make sure it is feasible to come back for naps and go back to the parks. The $1,000 deposit thing makes me nervous but we may use the people in England you used - the house is available our dates.

Did you have to pay a *guest fee*? The owners I've asked about this have told me there is a one time fee -- one said it was $65/fam another said $80...and that is for the week, mind you...

I was a little nervous at first, but Steve and I had several telephone conversations and I instantly felt more comfortable. They used a property management company so all of our payments were by Visa, which was also additional security (although now I would have no problems sending a cheque).

My sister in-law and I were just talking about drive time the other day (as we are now in full planning mode for our May trip) and it did not take more than 15 mins. We were there for 2 weeks starting mid August and never encountered any traffic. We always tried to arrive close to park opening and left at lunch for a few hours and returned for dinner and park time in the evenings. We were honestly shocked at how smoothly it went, strollers and all!

Happy planning,
Leanne

We did have to pay a "guest fee", I believe it was $65 (that sound right) for our entire family. This covers the cost for everyone getting their ID cards. Everyone gets a photo card (the kids did not get them) that grants access to all resort amenities, it also acts as your charge card for any purchases, so everything is charged to your villa. The process was very painless, upon arrival we all made our way to the hotel were we met with guest relations and they took our photos and gave us our cards.

Thanks for the info. One last question. Since you are essentially a "guest" of the home owner, what does the owner send you as confirmation to get your resort ID's and such? I guess the keys come from the property management company hired by the owner?

The resort has a hotel checking desk. Owner guests and those renting directly from the resort check in the same way, same place. Very easy. A hotel style credit card / ID / Key is issued for length of stay. When your vacation is over, dispose of electronic key.

My condo in Reunion is at www.vrbo.com/89179 . me if you have any questions.

thanks for the insight. sounds like a fantastic place!

Wow. I never heard of this place and I researched like crazy....I really wanted a resort feel...this fits the bill. I was considering Bonnet Creek but decided on Windsor Hills even though it's not a resort.

Can I ask about golf? How much are the fees? My dad and brother would love it. Maybe I can talk them into a trip next year.

We just booked Windsor Hills or I would be jumping all over the condo.

Saving these for later dates...

Does anyone have map showing location in relation to disney, etc.?

Thanks.

Trish

Make a right out of Windsor Hills onto Old Lake Wilson (instead of a left to go to World Drive - Disney) and Reunion is 2 miles dead ahead. You drive right between the 2 sides of the Resort (there's a Resort overpass road that you go under while on Old Lake Wilson rd).

Thanks. Sounds like while we're staying at Windsor Hills, we can check it out for future trips!

I also want to check out Bonnet Creek.

Anyone have details about the golf fees? Thanks.

Trish

Reunion is huge, so it will depend on which section you're in. I just returned from the Patriot's Landing section which is close to the entrance.
Reunion is #21 and #22 on this map. Disney locations are the pink markers.
This map is a few years old, before the Reunion Grande was built but it's across from the Seven Eagles area.
