Well, this is my first time journaling, hopefully it helps.
I started exercising and Atkins back in January. Didn't last very long on Atkins however I exercised at least 5 days a week and ate a lower carb diet. I lost 17 pounds, which I was very happy with. I even broke down and wore a bikini during the summer.
Fast forward to September. We went on a Disney cruise and for some reason when we got back, I lost all motivation. And I actually thought I could go back to old eating habits and keep the pounds off....boy was I wrong. Not to mention I started making excuses for not going to the gym and was down to working out 2-3 times a week, and not as strong as I had in the past.
So at the beginning of December the gym started a new incentive program and I partnered up with one of the trainers, I thought the extra pressure would help me succeed. At the first weigh in, I had gained 5 pounds since September. No big deal, I though I would just up my cardio and lose it in no time. Well, I weighed in again yesterday and in one week I gained 4 pounds, bringing me up to a total weight gain since September to 9 pounds.
Talk about depressed. I almost started crying right there in the middle of the gym. Then out of desperation, I did something really stupid. I stopped off at Wal-Mart and picked up a bottle of Hydroxycut. I read alot of good reviews about it online and saw articles in fitness magazines so I thought why not. I took one pill, took a short nap and woke up with a migraine of the century. I didn't do anything else differant during the day so it had to be the hydroxycut. So, I was snapped back to reality and relized the only way to beat my weight gain is to get back to working my butt off at the gym (to bad I wasted the $15.00 on the Hydroxycut).
So I am almost finished with day one of Atkins. I spent an hour and 40 minutes doing cardio today, for more then 800 calories. And I am trying to come up with a treat for myself when I lose this 9 pounds. I'm thinking of maybe a pair of new jeans (not to mention we are going on a cruise at the end of January).
Thanks for listening and it's just nice to type out my feelings of the day. Maybe this will help me stay on track and on Atkins for induction.
