Well, this is my first time journaling, hopefully it helps.

I started exercising and Atkins back in January. Didn't last very long on Atkins however I exercised at least 5 days a week and ate a lower carb diet. I lost 17 pounds, which I was very happy with. I even broke down and wore a bikini during the summer.

Fast forward to September. We went on a Disney cruise and for some reason when we got back, I lost all motivation. And I actually thought I could go back to old eating habits and keep the pounds off....boy was I wrong. Not to mention I started making excuses for not going to the gym and was down to working out 2-3 times a week, and not as strong as I had in the past.

So at the beginning of December the gym started a new incentive program and I partnered up with one of the trainers, I thought the extra pressure would help me succeed. At the first weigh in, I had gained 5 pounds since September. No big deal, I though I would just up my cardio and lose it in no time. Well, I weighed in again yesterday and in one week I gained 4 pounds, bringing me up to a total weight gain since September to 9 pounds.

Talk about depressed. I almost started crying right there in the middle of the gym. Then out of desperation, I did something really stupid. I stopped off at Wal-Mart and picked up a bottle of Hydroxycut. I read alot of good reviews about it online and saw articles in fitness magazines so I thought why not. I took one pill, took a short nap and woke up with a migraine of the century. I didn't do anything else differant during the day so it had to be the hydroxycut. So, I was snapped back to reality and relized the only way to beat my weight gain is to get back to working my butt off at the gym (to bad I wasted the $15.00 on the Hydroxycut).

So I am almost finished with day one of Atkins. I spent an hour and 40 minutes doing cardio today, for more then 800 calories. And I am trying to come up with a treat for myself when I lose this 9 pounds. I'm thinking of maybe a pair of new jeans (not to mention we are going on a cruise at the end of January).

Thanks for listening and it's just nice to type out my feelings of the day. Maybe this will help me stay on track and on Atkins for induction.

Well, day 2 is almost over. Now I know why I didn't last longer then a week and a half on Atkins last time. This is tough. I've been tired most of the day and had a headache, looking forward to day 3 when it will get better.

We have been bouncing around the idea of going out to dinner tonight. I know that alot of resturants have low carb menu's these days but I am so hungry for mexican. Tostada, rice, beans and chips and salsa. But DH is being strict with me and said no way. Which is good, I need a babysitter because I am short on will power.

I still need to come up with an ultimate goal. Last time I lost the weight I told myself that I was going to go to a character audition and WDW and see where that would lead. But my availabitity would be so limited I am not sure if they would hire me. Not to mention the 45 minute drive to get there. Right now my goal list includes a new pair of jeans, maybe that mexican dinner, a new outfit for our January cruise or a massage. I'll just have to see how I feel at the end of this.

No exercise today, I didn't have it in me. But plan on going to the gym tomorrow. And DD is out of school so I am sure we will be going everyday just so she doesn't go stir crazy with being in the house all day.

Well, here to day 2, almost to day 3.

Hi Ginger and Welcome!!!

We all know how tough it is to find that program that works for us. You know what you need to do and I think treating yourself when you reach it is a good idea. Give yourself small goals and I'm sure you'll reach them just fine.

Good Luck

Day 3...almost over.

We went out to eat last night and I did pretty good. We went to Friday's and I had the bunless burger. Tasted better then some steaks that I have eaten. And some weeds that they called a salad. I did cheat a bit and had a diet coke. But I won't count that.

Worked out today, did an hour and forty minutes of cardio for almost 900 calories. I'll be back at it tomorrow.

I think I can look in the mirror and tell I am dropping inches already, but I will know bettter when I get on the scale Wednesday.
