Ginger Ale?

I'm possible going to be 6-7 weeks pregnant when we go to WDW next month (fingers crossed!) and while I didn't have any morning sickness with my first child, I'm worried that I'm going to jinx myself and have a horrible case of it just because I so badly DON'T want to get it.

So I was wondering if ginger ale is prevalent throughout the world? We're staying at POFQ, does anyone know if we're able to get it there?

With my DD, I got woke up every morning and DH brought me some saltines & ginger ale... I had that before getting up & moving around and kept some carnation instant breakfast handy. I'm not prone to stomach issues in general, but I think always having something on my stomach helped too. I can pack saltines & Carnation and get some milk from POFQ (and bring the packets of Carnation into the park and get milk there), but the only thing I don't know about is the accessibility to ginger ale.

I didn't find any in December. I had bad morning sickness so I just ordered a case from Garden Grocer. You could also check the Hess gas station in DTD or if you have a car pick it up on the way to the resort.

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!:grouphug:

You will likely not find it in any of the soft drink refill stations or at CS, but anywhere with a full bar will probably have it.

I think to have it in your resort room, you may be required to bring your own or order it from a grocery delivery service. I am afraid I don't know whether or not the resort stores stock it in bottles or cans.

My daughter was in WDW this summer and had awful morning sickness. She and DSIL couldn't find gingerale anywhere on property. He ended up taking a cab to pick up a case at the nearest shopping centre (what a guy!). So if you won't have a car, you might want to order the gingerale (and maybe the saltines and a few other snacks) from one of the grocery delivery services.

Even the table service restaurants didn't have ginger ale.

Or take a towncar from the airport to the hotel. Tiffany Towncar includes a grocery stop.

Or try wegoshop.com for grocery delivery.

Or look in the gift shops/food places in the airport after you get off the plane. If you see a bottle, you might want to grab it so that you know you have at least one bottle with you.

Does POFQ have fridges in the rooms? If not, then add a cooler to your shopping list.

The bars should have ginger ale (as I frequently order Jack and Gingers there!)

We always travel with ginger capsules. You can get them at any pharmacy in the vitamin section.

Thanks to all for the advice. I'll wait and see how it all turns out, but I'm contemplating maybe placing a grocery order for milk, Carnation Instant Breakfast, ginger ale, saltines & a few snacks for DD.

Is there a list anywhere (maybe All Ears?) of the locations of the bars? DH & I aren't big drinkers so it's not something I've ever looked into.

Thank you also, Shelley-F for the recommendation of ginger capsules. I'm starting to panic a little about the possibility of facing morning sickness and whether this whole TTC RIGHT NOW thing was a good idea.:headache:

I have seen Giner Ale in all of the resorts that we have stayed in. Since we are in MI, we tend to look for Vernors but have to settle for Schweppes (sp?). It is in the cooler with the mixers. Usually near the tonic water.

The bar at POFQ has ginger ale and I'm sure the pool bar also has it. But I think in your case it would be cheaper to either order from a online service or pick it up on the way in to WDW

In Epcot, Club Cool (the Coca Cola spot by Innoventions) has a tasty ginger ale in its sample fountains.

I would do the Towncar with grocery stop. This way you can get what you need and won't worry about were am I going to find ginger-ale. I also would look into a small collapsible cooler, I have had one for years and we always bring it. It should fit into any suitcase. Or you could get a wine bottle cooler - I have one that fits 1 bottle and you could bring that into the parks with you. Normally they have along strap so it can hang from the stroller or fit into any bag easy.

Congrat's on the new addition to your family.
