Day 14
I woke really early with a headache and couldn’t get back to sleep. We eventually got up at 6.45 and after a shower had a quick breakfast of raisin bread toasted, which I LOVE, in the lounge. The quality of the food here is superb. We caught the monorail to the MK at 7.45. At pretty much the same spot as last night we broke down again – it turned out to be the same train too. This time we were trapped in the carriage for 45 mins WITH NO A/C!!! Eventually, they sent a tow train to pull us into the station.

We got to City Hall 5mins late for our Keys to the Kingdom Tour, but as they knew about the train, they were waiting for a few of us. The tour was wonderful, although I couldn’t tell you now half of what we were told, as there was SO MUCH information. We got to ride Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion as well.

Lunch at the Columbia Harbour House was very good for counter service fare. We both had the Houmous sandwich which was excellent. Why have I never spotted this place before? It’s a real haven on a hot day. We all got a really nice pin to keep. Unfortunately, I felt extremely faint in the Utiladors – I think I’d been standing for too long in one spot and my BP, low at the best of times, had sank to my boots. It made me feel really quite awful so we left about 5 mins before the end. I would thoroughly recommend this tour – the 5 hours passed in a flash.

We returned to GF on the boat – we weren’t risking the monorail again – where I lay down for a couple of hours while Tony went to play golf – and saw a passing Armadillo. We went for a pre-dinner glass of champagne at the lounge before dinner at 1900 Park Fayre. As usual the standard was good though we felt a little bit rushed and we thought the choice of desserts more limited – no matter, we had the offering at the lounge later along with the liquers!

We had an evening thunder and lightening storm, the first we’d seen this trip but no rain. The lightening was quite spectacular and perfectly complemented Hallo-wishes.

Day 15
Up just after 8am and after getting ready we went to the lounge for breakfast. It was very busy and we struggled to find a table. Tony then went to have his beard trimmed at the Salon - $15 – not bad. Then for a change, we went to the lovely pool. Mid morning we walked to the Poly to do some shopping. The grounds are lovely there, so tropical feeling but I do like the elegance of the GF. We bought some presents and then walked back to the pool and had a swim to cool off after the exertion! Well, when I say had a swim, I mean Tony had a swim and as I can’t swim I wallowed in the shallow end! We then had yet another Frozen Strawberry Daquiri and a Margarita.

After lunch, it became very overcast so we sat and read. We showered and again ready for the nightly champagne ritual and dinner in the lounge – we’d originally been booked into Whispering Canyon but we really felt we’d eaten too much on this holiday so although it was our last night we decided to skip a proper meal. I think the temptation is to eat because it’s there but in fact we have both lost weight – I think we find the sheer scale of the food there off putting. The dessert offerings in the lounge tonight were especially good, so we ate a plateful and drank a glass of bubbly.

We went back to the room to pack and then got the fabulous desserts and liquers to have while watching Wishes for the last time.

Gill, another great report. Shame it is coming to an end :)

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Great report!

in fact we have both lost weight

We also lost weight - we tended to find two meals plus fruit and snacks as much as we could cope with, so that added to all the walking makes up for the bulk!

Mid you, did put on 1/2 stone back home from misery eating - no more Disney and April in the UK, is it surprising

Snap, I was a good girl on holiday but had severe Disney withdrawal systems on my return and ended up putting on a few pounds. All back to normal now though.

Lovely report again.
