Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on some small gifts I could get for folks left at home while away? Not too expensive, just a "thought about you" gift:flower1:

While I was in AK I bought a keychain that was a viewfinder in the shape of Mickey. It had a picture disc of each park. I got it for a friend of mine because she always asks to see pictures. I don't remember how much it was, but I wish I would have bought one so that I could have the magic wiith me.

When we went 3 years ago my daughter had over 20 people she wanted to buy gifts for she she bought packs of postcards and gave one to each of her buds when we got back. Depens on what your budget is. There are always pencils, key chains or even the Disney name badges.

We've brought back Mickey chocolates, Mickey shaped pasta, keychains, pens, pencils, stickers, Mickey shaped votive candles-- all for under $10.

:earsboy:

When making a purchase at a store, you could ask for several "extra" bags and make them your goodie bags.

Many castmembers at registers and sometimes throughout the parks have stickers that they give out to guests, you might be able to collect several of these for free too.

Rather than postcards, it might be nice to have a great photo of your family taken in front of the castle, EPCOT ball, or similar landmark and just have copies of the photo made. I think people who have never been to Disney would like to see you having a good time there.

There are tins full of candy that could be bought for several people (or a classroom) to share. Coffee is quite tasty and is shareable.

Pencils seem to be about $2.50 and up each. Keychains more like $4.00 and up so depends what "cheap" means to you and how many people you're talking about.

I usually buy pens, keychains, or magnets from the outlet store. They're usually at least half price there. For kids, there's a really nice marker set for $5 and they sell it in almost every gift shop.

Our daughter always buys a couple packs of the stickers on a roll and divides them up between her classmates when she gets home. The kids all love getting a little surprise, even if it's only 10 or so stickers. One year we bought some pencils to give her class...another big hit. ::MinnieMo

I collect small Disney things on sale all year round and have them on hand at home. I always end up buying other things at the park but I pack alot of little gifty things to surprise the kids with along the trip. This saves me alot of money, it adds to the magic because things just 'appear' in our room.
Our local dollar store has seasonal disney stickers and pencil packs really cheap. (ok, actually....a dollar.) I've picked up a few and when the kids get back from our 2005 trip in Dec. They'll still have neat stuff to hand out. (Can you tell I work on a mean budget?:hyper:

I try to pick up things that say "Walt Disney World" on them, because that's the only place you can get them. Except maybe eBay, lol. No catalog or Disney store has them....

I can now get stuff that says "Walt Disney World" on it! The world of Disney store on Fifth Ave carries a bunch of stuff that has the WDW logo on it!

A cute idea I saw someone doing (probably best for kids) is to buy a postcard (this guy had one with princesses on it) and then have the princesses (or characters) sign the back of the postcard. I thought that was a really neat idea!

I like the signed postcard idea.

One of my favorite souveniers is a nice Mickey Mouse pen. It's a metal ball point pen, with rows of Mickeys on the casing (? sorry, don't know the names of the parts of a pen  ). It runs about $15. But I received many compliments and comments on this pen when I took it to work, even bought one for a coworker on a return trip.
