Are you able to give the characters a small gift?

I read that you could give them a small item maybe from where you are from, and that they could except it. Anyone familiar with this situation, has done this before, .....?

I've personally never done it, but this blog post says you can. It is from 2010, not sure if things have changed since then. Good luck! :)

I've seen them accept drawings from kids. If they don't have a handler, they will go off stage to put the item away. Sometimes the handler will leave with the item. You'll likely end up waiting for them to come back, or not having an attendant to take your picture.

Just a thought and something to think about. The Mouse for Less website. If you dig through it you can find CM appreciation cards that you can print out. If you are inclined, print out a sheet of them, go into a word processing program and create some customized ones of your own. Print them off and add some Disney stickers and you are set to go. Then when you encounter a really good CM hand them one of the cards.

Yes, you can give characters small gifts! I have seen many people do this. Also, I know someone who is "friends" with a character and they said that it is rude for characters not to accept gifts. :)

Thank you, will look into it.

:thumbsup2 Great, thanks!

I don't think that a character would go offstage in the middle of a set just because someone gave them a little gift. I've never seen that happen. Some characters have pockets where they can store small things, but others will simply leave them nearby while the meet and greet goes on. However, sometimes they just have to manage by holding onto the items, as can be seen below from Valentine's Day.

Thanks for the info about this. My DS (5) is going through a cute little phase right now where he wants to draw pictures for everybody and anybody so he's been drawing photos for all the characters, putting stickers on them and writing his name on each one and he wants to hand them out while we're there in April. I was hoping I didn't have to break the news that they wouldn't be able to take them but it sounds like he's ok to give them his little homemade gift.
