I had posted this up a few days ago in another forum, but thought I would try here also.
We are going to Disneyland, and I was thinking of bringing along some edible goodies for some of the cast members that we come across.
I was wondering if this was allowed and if anyone else had done this before. If so, what did you give?

The best thing you can do to thank a CM is give them a compliment at City Hall- Its goes along way :)

As for the giving stuff- CMs are not supposed to accept gifts/tips of anykind- Yes there is a bit of a grey issue involved but if a manager finds out the CM can be in a lot of trouble- And so as good as your intentions might be it might cause more headache and grief for the CM.

As for the homemade goods- I mean no disrespect but its kinda a saftey issue- Yes the majority of things would be just fine but how can ya weed out the good safe brownies from the rotten egg,who knows whats in them not safe brownies. Most people love homemade stuff from people they know but would you trust homemade food from someone youve never meet before at a place where you see every walk of life? Personally I wouldnt take the risk-

Personally I would just take the time to get the CMs name and location and drop a positive comment off at city hall- It gets noted in their personal record and usually they get a congrats and such from their managers :)

Thank you for the information. I will get the names and such of the special CMs. I was thinking of getting store brought well packaged goodies, but I know what you mean about the good and the bad.

Just a thought, but I worked front desk check-in at a hotel in Las Vegas and many people would bring me the really good macadamia nuts or chocolates and such. It was really thoughtful of them and they were really taken care of then. I took care of all guests, but would go the extra mile for those that went the extra mile for me. Never neccessary, always nice. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the info. Andrea. I know what you mean about it not being neccessary, but it is a nice touch to recieve something when you least expect it right :smooth: .

I would have to agree that registering a compliment at City hall is the best thing you can do for a cm :D
