Anyone used Gifts of a Lifetime at WDW? My DH's birthday will fall on our trip, and I had gotten some ideas from this company. After I closed my mouth at the price tag, I figured this would be the best surprise for him. The one that interests me the most is a race at Epcot, in which he will have to perform certain tasks to get his present.....

I am hoping some one has used them at WDW and can give me some feedback......like are CM's okay with all of this, do they ever play a role in the "race"? I know characters do not, but I was curious how this all plays out at the parks.

I made arrangements with Jane to plan a "race" at MGM for my husband's birthday in April 2003.

I also paid for one of her employees to tag along and take pictures.

Basically Jane and a couple of her friends set up clues minutes before your spouse arrives. They have cell phones and they call each other when they see you coming. That way the clue can't accidentally be tampered with by other Disney guests.

Jane managed to work the CMs and characters in with a twist. Kevin had to get autographs to qualify for a special prize at the end. This prize was really the birthday present I had arranged for Jane to purchase for him.

It was so much fun. She really had us dashing from one end of the park to the other. I think it lasted a couple hours. The photographer who hung out with us was really friendly. He didn't take the greatest pictures, but it was nice to be in the pictures for once, rather than worry about taking the pictures. He simply gave us the film at the end and we had to develop it ourselves.

Kevin knew something was up because the day of the race he decided that "maybe we should go to MK instead." Of course I said, "NO WAY!" Then he thought it was really strange that I had us hanging around a bookstore instead of riding rides. (This was the spot where Jane said the race would begin.)

She actually had the photographer deliver the first clue. And then he accompanied us the rest of the way. Jane didn't tell me all the clues ahead of time, so I really got to play too.

Jane and other friends revealed themselves at the end and that's when Kevin got his birthday present.

I was really happy with how this event turned out. Yes, it's expensive, but this is how Jane makes her living. I'm so jealous!

Hope this helps!

Thanks you guys, I think I had already made up my mind to do it, but I think I just needed a bit of reassurance.....I was talking to friends and family about it and they said, "sounds fun, but really expensive..." so I just want to know the $$ will be worth it.....

You'll have the best time & GREAT memories. We have done several "events" with Jane for birthdays & a weddind vow renewal! She was great to work with! I may be contacting her for an event in Nov for my DH's birthday...SHH it's a secret!
