Hello!
Do people's kids usually bring back a little gift for the kids in their class?
If so, what sort of things do you bring back?
:hourglass

Thanks!!

The only time we brought back gifts for DS classmates was when we went to Bermuda. Brought back Bermuda pennies for everyone.

If you decide to bring back gifts from WDW, my suggestion of gifts would be the Mickey straws. I think they are something like 4 for a dollar.

My dd got a princess pencil from Disney(although it could have come from target) from aclassmate and she loved the surprise of it. :cheer2:edit to add that when DD was 4 we brought back minnie sunglasses for her 3 best friends- they all looked so cute! :cool1:

how old is the child?

ours is in daycare....last year we bought one of those big packs of disney crayons (the ones with the crayons shaped like characters) for them to use in the classroom

We generally buy a couple of the big packs of stickers and divide them up between DD's entire class. The kids love getting a variety of stickers and think it's fun that we brought something back for them, yet it doesn't cost a fortune. ::MinnieMo

In Dec. they were 50 cents each.

We gave those, plus sent some Mickey pretzels for snack time.

Yes, we've brought back things several times, but my kids only have 10 in their classes, so it is a bit easier for us. One time we brought back small magnets. Another time we bought packages of pencils and divided them up and gave those out with very small pads of paper. We've also done inexpensive keychains. I've also heard others say that if they are on a long trip, they keep all the special cups, straws they get at the different restaurants, clean them when they get home and give those away.

As the parent of a kindergartener, I would have to say PLEASE DO NOT START THIS TREND!!!! I don't want to have to go shopping for classmates every time we go on vacation!!!! ;)

:rotfl2: I agree!

No, dk's classmates have never brought anything back from their WDW vacations and neither have we. DS has 25 kids in his class - that's just way too many to buy for.

we brought back a big bag of mickey pretzels to send in for snack time when ds was in preschool... it cost about $3 and gave ds a chance to talk about his trip... otherwise we've only brought things back for their teachers (like a pen)... and no, we've never missed more than 1 day of school to go on vacation ;)

We brought back pencils and eraser packs (four different disney shapes in each pack), however, my daughter only has 12 kids in her Kindergarten class. As the class sizes get bigger as she gets older, I don't know if I will.

"If" we bring a gift it is for the classroom rather than each child. Depending on when we travel and what is going on in class I try and match things. A unit on the Revolutionary War coincided with the trip and we found a great picture book at Epcot.

We did an origami book from Japan pavillion one year for my dd's 3rd grade class and then we got the paper when we got home (much cheaper!!).

If they miss a day or two of school I get something nice for the teacher as a thank you for putting missed work together.

Our school strongly discourages bringing back tokens for other students when a child is out for a trip. They encourage us to bring back a gift for the classroom instead.

DS is 8 and couldn't care less if someone from his class brought him back a souvenier from their vacation. He is more interested in what he brings back for a couple of his very close friends--he tries to get them something they will each like and use (like a small Lego set, etc..that he buys with his own money earned from allowance).

Just my .02!

I bought some Mickey Mouse shapped lollipops and gave them to my neices and nephews, and a few other friends of my children. I don't remember the price, but they were inexpensive. They also have Pooh ones in the gift shop outside of the ride.

Have fun!!!!

Our DD wanted to buy her little friend something when we were at MK 5 years ago and we bought one of those little washcloths that expand when they get wet....they are so small and compact we brought a bunch back for friends and family!!!

When the kids were kindergarten age we bought a lot of snacky stuff in the World Showcase and I sent it to school on my next cookie mom day. It's a long time ago but I remember the rice paper candy from Japan and tea biscuits from Britain.

We bought the Mickey shaped suckers also. I found them at Mousegears in Epcot 6 for $3.00.

We draw the line at the class, too many kids...now the kids usually bring back a little something for their close friends. Right now all the kids are really into the arm bracelets so we will get some of those in different colors.
