My husband's family has a Christmas party every year, we do this Bingo/lottery type games o if you're going to play you need to bring a gift that is around $10. The last couple years it has been "food" themed. Previous years it was whatever/gag. This year it is once again anything... I'd like to try and come up with some ideas that won't be replicated by others. There are over 30 of us now....

So any ideas? The group is varying ages and men and women. Everyone is over 21 years of age except for my daughter who is 6 years old.

the gift card to Auntie Anne's Pretzels was the hit of the party when I did this. Everybody was tired of the "regular" spots (Starbucks & the like).

A couple other things that have been hits.....plate with goodies....reusable mug with fun hot chocolates. One of those silly singing stuffed animals.

How about this:

I think that most adults could get some use out of flashlights, and it would not likely be a duplicate.

No ideas, but I LOVE the idea of a $10 and under exchange.

We gave all of the adults in our family $2-3 in Lotto Scratch tickets last year and that went over really well.

Kind of more on the silly side, but my favorite is lotto tickets wrapped up with a box of lucky charms cereal. Hey, the cereal is "practical" and who knows, the recipient might "get lucky" and win a few more bucks!

What a super cute idea!

We did something similar except a tacky version we did recently for a friend of my husband's. We did lottery tickets and a box of condoms with a note, hope you get "lucky":rotfl:

OP, what about a cute stocking filled with microwave popcorn, candy and a cheesy $5 movie

I love the lotto ticket idea!! Also, the Auntie Ann Gift Card is good too!!

My family always gifts scratch offs, liquor, or chocolate. Everyone ends up happy :) Last year someone brought bunny slippers and everyone fought over them, cuz it was something different. lol She is soon to be cousin in law.

That's the kind of shopping I'm doing this year. I found a 1GB USB/MP3 player on clearance at Target for about $7. I bought 3, one for me and 2 for gifts. I also bought a CD at Walmart for $7...a particular artist may not be everyone's taste, but maybe find one of the Now CD's or a holiday disc.

What about a DVD? I saw them as low as $5 at WM. Add a box of popcorn and some candy in bowl to make up the difference.

We're having the same type of party this year.

I read somewhere about filling a container with quarters and freezing the thing. (cold hard cash).

My family does a "1-pound" exchange...and I know for a fact that you can get a pound of bunge cords for less than $10. It was a perfect masculine gift! It was one of the gifts that was "stolen" the maximum 3-times. (Menards sells "multi-packs that have about 15 or so cords.)

check out the 'windshield wonder' that they are selling on tv. you can buy them at walmart and other stores for less than $10, and though i was skeptical those suckers work REALY well (and they are WONDERFUL if you live in a region where the car front windows are prone to fogging up in cold weather).

kinda dorky sounding but how about a big bag of men's tube socks? i've never known any guy who could'nt use new socks:rotfl:

along the same line-a pair of realy nice plush 'spa socks' are wonderful. i think the ones b&bw's sells are around $7.

a tasty treat if they are selling in your area are the yard long boxes of cadburry cookies. delicious little butter cookies about the size of your pinkie dipped in dairy milk chocolate:love:

I need some $10 ideas too that are NOT food, candy, coffee items. These people tend to be health nuts, food-wise. (Not very fun, I know. :p)

I usually buy discounted movie tickets at Costco (around $7-$8) and tape them to a theater size box of candy.

You could also get a $1 plastic popcorn box (usually at Target or Dollar Tree) and put in a Blockbuster gift card, box of candy and a micro wave popcorn.

We play a very fun domino game called mexican train. you might be able to find one for around $10.

:

I agree-this thing works great.

I like the lotto ticket idea too

If you want to do something on the more practical side, how about $10 worth of different sizes of batteries. We are always running out of them.

The flash drive idea is good as well-you could also get an SD card for a camera.

I would stay away from coffee mugs, etc. If they drink coffee they have enough of that stuff.

For a 50th birthday gift I froze gold dollar coins in ice cubes and put them in a blender along with a gift card.
